Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Fearless Opponents

Joe's next opponent was boxing legend Dominic "The Booze Storm" Moretti. Moretti was a whirlwind in the ring in every fight. At the age of 30, he had 42 fights and won 39 of them. According to many boxing commentators, he would be the toughest opponent Joe had ever faced. Everyone said Joe was inexperienced, that he couldn't beat Moretti. But Joe, with the guidance of Gus and the Dempsey Turn, felt ready for this fight.

When the day of the fight arrived, Moretti's gloomy look gave Joe an air of defiance. A colourful boxer, Moretti stepped into the ring with an aggressive style. Joe was calm, but determined. This fight would be a battle of strategy, not just physical strength.

As the first round began, Moretti quickly began to corner Joe. Each punch was powerful and Joe would occasionally try to counter the blows. But Moretti's speed and power forced Joe to defend.

Gus was shouting from Joe's corner, giving him direction: "Use your speed, stay on the defence. Don't forget the Dempsey Turn, it'll save you!"

In the second round, Moretti's powerful punches continued to hurt Joe. But Joe was patiently watching Moretti's movements, waiting for the perfect moment to strike back. And finally, in the third round, that moment came.

Moretti spotted a gap in Joe's defence and quickly threw a right hook.Suddenly, however, Joe turned to the right, executing the Dempsey Turn. This move exposed a gap in Moretti's defence. Joe, in the heat of the moment, quickly landed a left jab to Moretti's head. The Dempsey Turn knocked him off his guard, and Joe's punch hit him hard.

Moretti staggered, but didn't go down. Joe followed up with another left hook, this time to Moretti's jaw. His opponent collapsed and the referee counted. As the spectators watched in amazement at Joe's quickly gained advantage, Joe just calmly walked to his corner. Gus looked him in the eye and smiled: "You're that good, Joe. Wit and strategy always prevail."

The referee finished the match by counting Moretti to ten and raised Joe's hand. It was Joe's first victory using the Dempsey Turn. However, this technique not only strengthened Joe's fighting style, but also his confidence.

Joe was preparing for one last fight for the championship belt. His opponent was Klaus "Iron Man" Stein, world champion and titleholder. Klaus was a powerful fighter, but Joe's new techniques and strategic acumen, such as the Dempsey Turn, could change the fate of this fight. This time, everything depended on Joe's determination and skill.

As Joe made his final preparations for this fight under Gus' guidance, he felt stronger than he had ever felt before. "I've never felt so focused before," Joe said between training sessions. "This time not only my body will be prepared, but also my mind."

Joe's final step would be a turning point in the boxing world. This fight for the championship belt would turn the eyes of not only him, but the entire boxing community to the new talent Joe had on him.
