Chapter 7 - True despair

Ethan's Thought's:

"Muzan's life and fate were riddled with failures. His incompetence doomed his ambitions."

"And now that I have inherited his mantle i will be the Perfect Demon King." I said it once and I meant it.

"Muzan lived an extraordinary but bitter life, born in the Heian era with a frail body and terminal illness he was considered stillborn until his first cries during cremation preparations. Throughout his life he battled health issues and developed a profound fear of death."

"Near death Muzan sought a doctor who treated him with an experimental medicine derived from the rare Blue Spider Lily. Believing it a failure he killed the doctor in rage only to discover it had transformed him into a demon. While granting him immense strength

the transformation rendered him vulnerable to sunlight."

"Desperate to overcome his weakness Muzan transformed humans into demons hoping one might become immune to sunlight so he could consume them and achieve perfection."

"Muzan's relentless hunt for the rare flower the blue spider lily also failed due to the flowers limited bloom cycle during the day."

"Muzan married five women all of whom committed suicide due to his abusive nature."

"Muzan barely survived a battle against the legendary Sun Breathing master

developing a deep fear of Yoriichi and started orchestrating the massacre of all Sun Breathing ptactitioners."

"He formed the Twelve Kizuki to execute his will and protect him from any threats."

"In the Taisho Period Muzan turned Nezuko into a demon and massacred the Kamado family, sparking Tanjiro Kamado's journey. Eventually during the Infinity Castle and Sunrise Countdown arcs Muzan faced the Demon Slayer Corps. Weakened by Tamayo's poison and a humanity restoring serum he was exposed to sunlight and destroyed. His final act was a futile attempt to transform Tanjiro into a demon."

"Muzan wasn't weak, just incompetent and unlike him i will persevere,i will adapt, evolve and surpass every obstacle even Yoriichi's legacy. "

While I contemplated these thoughts the group of Demon Slayers approached declaring.

"Muzan you will die today for your crimes."

"Their confidence was laughable. Little did they know their death was imminent. I welcomed their assault using it to refine my combat style. Combining high-speed movements and the precision of my deadly Umbra Tendrils i aimed to surpass even Yoriichi."

"Initially it was difficult to predict their attacks while dodging and using my Blood Demon Art. However I quickly adapted eventually i started incorporating the muscle memory from the Demom Slayers I had devoured. My body evolved with every movement

becoming a perfect war machine."

"Within 20 minutes i was gracefully evading their attacks. My muscles, bones and skin synchronized perfectly as if they had lives of their own. Yet

occasional mistakes left me injured

leaving me to ponder the reason behind them."

"Suddenly it dawned on me Muzan's physiology was flawed. With seven hearts and five brains constantly shifting within his body for that reason his body suffered from interference

leading to him having constant

confusion,cognitive decline and mood instability."

"Using my Blood Demon Art:Biokinesis

i eliminated the redundant hearts and brains aligning my physiology to a singular focus. Instantly the world slowed down for me.The Demon Slayer's appeared motionless for the very first time i felt truly in control no longer do i feel as if i am sharing my body with four other people."

"No longer a fractured existence i reveled in my newfound clarity. This was my body,my power and nothing would stop me now."

"As strength surged through my veins a newfound vitality electrifying my every movement. I stepped back from the old Hashiras the air around me thickening humming with tension as their infamous forms closed in. These were not mere Demon Slayer's they were legends. Their presence carried the weight of countless victories, their movements sharpened by decades of battle. But to me they were not threats they were opportunities and now that I had attained perfection they would be devoured."

"My heart steadied as a cold unyielding determination settled within me. These warriors had tested my strength, refining it and polishing it. For that i afforded them respect fleeting.but respect nonetheless."

"The first to move was the former Wind Hashira his blade cut through the air with ferocious speed as a whirlwind of sharp gusts spiraling toward me. His technique was wild but purposeful

yet aimed to disorient and overwhelm.

I sidestepped his assault narrowly avoiding the brunt of the attack and lashed out with a tendril from my hand.It whipped toward him aiming for his throat but the Hashira spun around

deflecting it with his sword."

"Fast," I muttered the faintest smirk tugging at my lips. "But clearly not fast enough."

As the Wind Hashira regained his footing the former Water Hashira closed in from my left. His strikes were fluid and seamless each movement flowing into the next like a serene but deadly river. I parried his blade with my tendrils, the clash ringing out like a bell and i countered with a surge of my Blood Demon Art.

A few small dark tendrils erupted from the ground, curving toward him in an intricate dance of death. He twisted and turned evading most but one managed to grazed his arm drawing a bit of his blood.

"Impressive teamwork," I said mockingly. "But it won't save you."

Before i could press the advantage a burst of flame illuminated the battlefield. The former Flame Hashira roared forward his katana ablaze with fiery intensity. His strikes were relentless each one carrying the weight of his undying resolve. I dodged and blocked, the imaginary heat licking at my skin but my focus never wavered. The trio coordinated their attacks seamlessly each filling the gaps of the other. But even so i was always one step ahead.

Their attacks were relentless forcing me to move constantly. Yet with every clash, every dodge i felt myself improving. My movements became sharper,my reactions faster. I wasn't just fighting them no i was learning from them. Each technique they used each strategy they employed was being analyzed and integrated into my arsenal.

The Wind Hashira launched himself at me again, his blade a blur of motion. This time i didn't dodge i caught his sword mid-swing with a tendril and yanked him off balance. Before he could recover i struck him with a precise blow to the chest, sending him flying into a nearby tree. He crumpled to the ground gasping for air but still alive.

"One down" I said turning my attention to the others.

The Water Hashira's face darkened with resolve as he launched himself at me,his movements a cascade of water forms. I allowed his blade to graze my arm feigning vulnerability before swiftly retaliating with a devastating counterstrike. My claws tore through his side eliciting a pained cry as he staggered back.

"You're too predictable," I said,my voice cold. "Did you think I'd fall for the same pattern twice?"

The Flame Hashira roared in defiance his blade igniting in a blinding inferno. His strikes came faster now, fueled by rage and desperation. I met his assault head-on,my tendrils forming a shield of flesh that absorbed his power. The power was intense but I pushed through, closing the distance between us.

You burn brightly," I said my voice almost admiring. "But even the brightest flame can be snuffed out."

With a swift motion i drove a tendril through his shoulder pinning him to the ground. He struggled, his fire dimming as blood pooled beneath him.

Just as I thought the battle was nearing its end the ground beneath me trembled. A towering figure emerged from the shadows the former Stone Hashira. His presence was overwhelming his body like a fortress. In his hands he wielded a massive club its surface etched with scars from countless battles.

"Interesting" I said my curiosity piqued. "Let's see how you fare."

The Stone Hashira charged, his movements deceptively fast for his size. He swung his club with earth shattering force, the impact creating shockwaves that tore through the ground. I dodged narrowly the sheer power of his strikes sending shivers down my spine. He was different from the others slower but far more dangerous.

I decided to test him lashing out with my tendrils. They wrapped around his limbs attempting to immobilize him but he roared and tore through them with brute strength. He swung his club again this time grazing my side. Pain flared

but I welcomed it. Pain was a teacher

and I was an eager student.

"Good" I said, grinning despite the blood dripping from my wound but it almost imidietely healed. "Very good"

I adjusted my strategy using my speed to outmaneuver him. My attacks became more precise targeting his joints and weak points. Slowly but surely i wore him down, his movements becoming sluggish. Finally i struck a decisive blow,a tendril piercing his leg and bringing him to his knees.

The remaining Hashiras regrouped their bodies battered but their spirits unbroken. Despite their injuries they stood together, their resolve unwavering. I could see the fire in their eyes the determination to protect humanity at all costs.

It was admirable in a way but it was also futile.

"You've fought well," I said, my voice tinged with genuine respect. "But this is where it ends."

With a surge of power i unleashed my full strength. My Blood Demon Art erupted in a symphony of shadow and death the tendrils forming a massive web that ensnared the remaining Hashiras. They struggled their blades slicing through the flesh but it was no use. I had learned their techniques

adapted to their strengths and exploited their weaknesses.

One by one they fell their bodies broken but their spirits unyielding. As I stood amidst the carnage,i felt a sense of exhilaration. This was what it meant to be the Perfect Demon King. Not just power but mastery. Not just survival but dominance.

"You have my thanks" I said my gaze lingering on their fallen forms. "Your strength has become mine and your sacrifice will not be in vain"

With deliberate swiftness i ended their suffering injecting my blood into their lifeless bodies. I waited as time worked its changes before consuming them

ensuring their power would forever be a part of me.

Having finished with my fight i turned and walked away the battlefield behind me a testament to my superiority. I had already surpassed Muzan surpassed every demon before me,i was no longer a mere shadow of their failures.

I was the culmination of their potential

and I was only just beginning.

Approaching Kagaya Ubuyashiki,i injected a substantial amount of my blood into him. Slowly i began to manipulate his memories and reshape the very essence of his identity. The creation of a perfect blood hex had commenced. First i altered his conscious mind twisting his thoughts and will. Then i delved deeper

reshaping his subconscious until his unwavering loyalty to me was absolute

and as expected i succeeded flawlessly.

Now with the immense power i wield only one obstacle stands in my path to complete domination Yoriichi Tsugikuni. While the original Muzan fell to that man i am no longer the same. The current me will not lose to anyone

he will crumble before me just like all the other Demon Slayer's and I will consume him as I have consumed the rest.
