"Good luck, Son." Wang Chulan gave Lin Yun a gentle hug and patted his back for good luck.
"Don't worry, Mom. You should think about how you're going to answer the media later," Lin Yun said jokingly.
"Don't be complacent. Do your best," Lin Canghai said with a serious expression. At the same time, he was proud of his children. Both Lin Xue and Lin Yun were sensible and studious. He didn't have any worries about their education.
"Understood, Dad. I'm leaving now." Lin Yun bid farewell and walked into the school under his parents' gazes.
Upon arriving in front of the classroom, Lin Yun checked his seat number and found a place to rest. The corridor was filled with students engaged in discussions.
"Brother Yun," Pan Wei walked over with a nervous expression.
Lin Yun chuckled and asked, "Did you sleep well last night?"
Pan Wei shook his head. "I was nervous and couldn't sleep well," he responded. "It's all because of you, Brother Yun. I originally had no hope. Now, I want to do my best."
Lin Yun laughed. "That's good. At least you won't have any regrets later."
Many students here probably had no idea how much impact the national exam would have on their lives. In his past life, Lin Yun had met many people who dreamed of going back to their high school years and retake the exam.
Even though he knew a piece of degree paper wasn't everything, there was no harm in having a good starting point. This exam would be everyone's first step into the adult world.
"I'll be right back. I need to use the restroom," Pan Wei said and quickly ran off.
Lin Yun was amused. He looked around, and many people greeted him enthusiastically. Some even came over to ask him a few questions about the first subject, making last-minute preparations.
Lin Yun didn't mind helping them. He simply pointed out the problems and how to solve them.
"Lin Yun, are you ready?" Chu Ling'er walked over and asked softly.
"Yeah. Good luck," Lin Yun responded with a smile.
After spending time together over the past few days, the two had become more familiar with each other and were no longer as restrained as before.
Soon, teachers appeared and called everyone to enter the classrooms.
Lin Yun and Pan Wei went in together and found their respective seats.
A while later, Teacher Xu Qing informed everyone of the instructions and cautions.
"It's time. You can start," Xu Qing said and sat down at her desk to preside over the exam.
Lin Yun turned the exam paper over and began to read the questions. The first subject was mathematics. After a brief skim, Lin Yun smiled confidently. It wasn't difficult for him.
Three hours passed in the blink of an eye. Lin Yun had long since answered all the questions, but he had no intention of leaving so as not to cause unnecessary pressure. He spent his time thinking about Plant vs. Zombie and his future products after verifying his answers twice.
"Time's up. Everyone, put down your pen," Xu Qing said and got up from her seat.
"Phew..." All the students let out a long, exhausted breath. They subconsciously looked at Lin Yun with gratitude. If not for Lin Yun's lectures over the past week, they wouldn't have been able to answer the questions.
After leaving the classroom, Pan Wei couldn't wait to speak up. "That was incredible, Brother Yun! This is the first time I could answer all the questions."
"That's good," Lin Yun smiled. He was genuinely happy for his best friend.
"I think it should be possible for me to get above 100," Pan Wei said excitedly.
"Yes, it shouldn't be a problem," Lin Yun nodded.
Soon, the two arrived in the cafeteria. With only the senior year students present, the cafeteria wasn't as packed as usual. Lin Yun and Pan Wei found a vacant table next to the window and settled down.
"How did it go?" Chu Ling'er walked over and unceremoniously sat down beside Pan Wei. Her unique fragrance immediately caused Pan Wei to blush.
"It went well. What about you?" Lin Yun responded, stuffing a mouthful of curry rice into his mouth.
"I think it's possible to get 140 points or more," Chu Ling'er replied confidently. "Did you know that everyone kept thanking you? I heard it all the way here."
Lin Yun glanced around briefly and saw many students looking at him with smiles.
"I didn't do much. In the end, it depends on them," Lin Yun said calmly. He wasn't being modest but stating the truth. No matter how much he wanted to teach, it would be useless for those who didn't want to learn. These students should be grateful to themselves for working hard.
Chu Ling'er curled her lips. "Has anyone told you that you sound like an old man?"
"Me," Pan Wei chimed in. "Brother Yun does sound like an old man."
Lin Yun shrugged and continued to enjoy his food.
The next subject was Chinese. For Lin Yun, this was definitely the most difficult subject, as an essay's score mostly depended on the examiners. He wasn't sure whether he could get a full mark.
Another three hours passed quickly. Lin Yun looked at his essay one last time and put his pen down as Xu Qing spoke. The first day of the national exam was essentially concluded.
After returning home, Lin Yun began working on his Plant vs. Zombie project and entered the DDL space at night to continue his studies.
This routine repeated for the entire week…
On the final day of the national exam, everyone gathered on the school running track to take a group picture. Lin Yun naturally didn't miss such an event, as he hadn't participated in his past life.
Many boys and girls confessed to their crushes. Some became couples, while others left with no regrets.
Lin Yun was affected by the atmosphere of joy and sorrow. He knew this could be the last time they would all spend time together. Many of them would probably never see each other again.
From this day onward, they would all step onto new paths, like swallows flying into the sky. Lin Yun truly wished them safety and success throughout their journeys.
"May everyone realize their wishes and find true happiness."
