Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 : Evolution Of Talent

Southgate No. 1 High School

Mr. Hariss looked at Ethan excitedly and asked impatiently, "Quick, tell me in detail!"

No wonder the teachers were so excited. After all, awakening S-level talents was rare across the entire world. Such individuals were invaluable assets that every major power would compete for. As long as their growth went smoothly, they were destined to become master-level Beast Masters.

A master-level Beast Tamer could control overlord-level beasts and become an unshakable force in any region!

Moreover, having high-end talent in their school would mean huge subsidies in terms of resources, and the school staff involved would receive generous rewards. This was why the teachers were eager to "dig talent" for their classes.

One teacher teased Mr. Hariss with a smile. "Why are you so impatient? The kid awakened his talent on his own; you didn't do anything to deserve this!"

Another added with a chuckle, "Exactly. You got lucky, old boy. Now let the rest of us have some fun!"

"Forget it," grumbled another. "I just hope one of the new students awakening tomorrow has a decent talent for my class."

At this point, Ethan interjected calmly, "I think the teachers are in for a disappointment."

Hearing this, the office quieted down as the teachers turned to look at him, confused. Ethan continued, "The talent I awakened is S-level [Unknown Evolution]."

As soon as he said this, silence engulfed the room.

The teachers froze for a moment, stunned, unable to process what they had just heard.

"What? That talent… I've heard of it, but it's useless!"

"Not just useless—it's a scam! If you follow the known evolution chains, it could still cause the beast to lose control!"

"I thought this was just a myth. What kind of luck is this?"

The teachers now looked at Ethan with deep regret.

Mr. Hariss sighed heavily, but his professionalism quickly kicked in. He patted Ethan on the shoulder and said, "Don't be discouraged, Ethan. It's still an S-level talent, and the basic bonuses are incredibly strong!"

Another teacher chimed in, "Exactly! The foundations alone will make you stronger than most, even if you follow a standard evolution chain."

"Plus," another teacher said optimistically, "you're still young. You can take this step by step and safely reach the Master Beast Tamer level."

Hearing these reassurances, Ethan felt a sense of warmth. Their advice made sense: he would proceed cautiously and grow steadily in the early stages. But in his heart, he was determined to make the most of his talent.

When Mr. Hariss noticed Ethan's resolute expression, he nodded approvingly. "Good. That's the spirit. Now, let's handle the important things."

"Here's what we'll do. I'll write you an approval note for a high-level student subsidy based on your talent. You can collect the resources from the school's Resource Department shortly."

"Better yet, I'll take you there myself," Mr. Hariss added.

Ethan followed him out of the office, and soon they arrived at the Resource Department. With Mr. Hariss's personal involvement, everything went smoothly.

Ethan received his training materials, which included 1,000 Mana Stones stored in a space ring.

The space ring—a fusion of advanced technology and extraordinary power—was a rare item. A basic 10-cubic-meter ring cost over a million credits, but his was even larger, at 30 cubic meters, worth several million credits!

Next, Mr. Hariss led Ethan to the school's advanced training room. Using his credentials, Mr. Hariss opened the room exclusively for Ethan's use.

The training room was engraved with intricate patterns designed to enhance the activity of spiritual energy, creating the perfect environment for practice.

As soon as Ethan entered, the door closed behind him.

All the engravings lit up, and dense spiritual energy surged into the room.

Ethan sat cross-legged in the center, adjusting his breathing as he began absorbing the energy. Following the methods taught by the school, he guided the energy through his body and activated his talent.

The process was supposed to be simple. The talent and Mana would work together to open up a Beast Space within the Beast Tamer's body—a pocket dimension tailored to the Beast Tamer 's abilities.

Each Beast Space had unique characteristics based on the talent:

• Fire enhancement talents created spaces rich in fire energy.

• Healing talents developed spaces that accelerated recovery.

• Communication talents allowed seamless mental links with beasts.

However, Ethan's case was far from ordinary.

As he absorbed the Mana, it began spiraling into a vortex above his head, pouring into his body with unprecedented force.

The lines and engravings in the room dimmed one by one as the energy reserves depleted rapidly. Even after nearly exhausting the room's supply, Ethan's Beast Space still hadn't materialized.

Confused, Ethan wondered if something had gone wrong. Yet, his instincts told him otherwise. His talent demanded more energy—far more than anticipated.

Reluctantly, Ethan retrieved several Mana Stones from his ring and continued absorbing energy.

The energy absorption process lasted for hours, during which Ethan consumed nearly his entire supply of Mana Stones. Finally, the overwhelming thirst for Mana subsided.

Ethan opened his eyes, astonished by what he had discovered.

His talent had undergone a transformation.

What was once S-level [Unknown Evolution] had mutated into SSS-level [Ultimate Evolution].
