Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 : Searching For A Beast

Now that Ethan had finally created his Beast Familiar Space, it was time to examine what made it so unique. He stayed in the training room, closed his eyes, and concentrated deeply, trying to connect with the space he had painstakingly created.

Moments later, his senses linked with the space, and Ethan's eyes shot open in shock.

The Beast Familiar Space was nothing like what he had read or imagined!

For most beast tamers, the initial space reflects their talent. For example, those with water-related talents might start with a serene pond or a bubbling stream. Fire talents might get a volcanic crater or a magma pool.

These spaces, no matter their appearance, usually had a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for nurturing extraordinary creatures.

But Ethan's space?

It was a land of death and decay.

The sky was shrouded in thick, gray mist, heavy and suffocating. The ground was a cracked, endless stretch of lifeless black soil. The trees were withered and burned, standing like ghostly shadows of a once-lush forest.

Rivers of black, murky water flowed, filled with debris and an ominous stench.

The air reeked of rot, and strange whispers echoed faintly, as if the shadows themselves were alive.

This was a realm of desolation—a place where ordinary extraordinary creatures would lose their minds in just three days.

Ethan sat back and reflected, taking it all in. Slowly, his astonishment turned into acceptance.

Wasn't this strange, oppressive environment ideal for raising restraining creatures?

As his connection with the space deepened, more details emerged, and Ethan's initial shock gave way to excitement.

The space wasn't just enormous—it came with powerful special abilities!

Once Ethan successfully contracted a beast, he could use the [Divine Blessing] ability within the space. This blessing could rewrite the genetic structure of his contracted beast, turning it into a restraining creature.

This meant he didn't need to chase after rare or powerful cubs like others did. As long as the extraordinary creature met certain basic conditions, the [Divine Blessing] would elevate its potential to rival even the strongest beasts!

This was a game-changer for Ethan, who lacked both resources and connections. Normally, cubs with high potential were monopolized by elite families or major organizations.

But now, he didn't need to compete. All he needed was to find a creature compatible with his space, and the space itself would handle the rest.

The first transformation would boost its combat power significantly, and Ethan could focus on developing future plans without worrying about falling behind.

This ability wasn't limited to the first transformation, either. By finding specific evolution materials and using [Mysterious Blessing] again, Ethan could guide his beast through multiple evolutionary stages, unlocking greater powers at every step.

The Beast Familiar Space also accelerated growth. Any battle pet inside would grow twenty times faster than it would in the outside world!

Even among high-level beast tamers, this was extraordinary. Most S-level talents could only speed up growth by ten times.

Additionally, beasts resting in the space could recover from injuries or negative conditions rapidly—something usually exclusive to healing talents. For Ethan, this meant he wouldn't need to spend money at Beast hospitals.

The most exciting part? Beasts in the space had a chance to self-learn new skills! Skill comprehension, which normally required extensive training and resources, could happen naturally here.

Ethan had a strong intuition that these self-learned skills would be unusual—perhaps even influenced by the eerie whispers that filled the space.

With all these advantages, Ethan felt more confident than ever. His space wasn't just a home for beasts—it was a tool for transformation, growth, and domination.

Having confirmed the unique properties of his Beast Familiar Space, Ethan left the training room feeling eager.

Mr. Hariss had already left, so Ethan made a quick stop by the office to inform him and request some time off.

Mr. Hariss agreed readily, knowing Ethan had already awakened his Beast Familiar talent and opened his space ahead of schedule. He even encouraged Ethan to reach out if he had any questions about contracting beasts.

Now, it was time to take the next step: contracting his first battle Beast.

Ethan headed straight to the Southgate Beast Breeding Center. This was the go-to location for most beginners. While the center had a wide selection, most cubs were average in aptitude, with only a few rare exceptions.

He wasn't worried, though. With the [Divine Blessing], aptitude didn't matter.

At the reception, a staff member welcomed him and led him to the garden area.

"This is our garden area," she explained warmly. "Most of the creatures here are natural beasts. There are also a few elemental beasts, primarily earth-type. If you've awakened an elemental talent, I can guide you to the corresponding area to save time."

Ethan smiled and shook his head. "I've awakened a special-type talent. I'm not sure what I'm looking for yet, so I'd like to explore a bit first."

The receptionist nodded. "Of course. Take your time."

As they walked, Ethan couldn't help but activate his Beast Familiar talent out of curiosity. He glanced at the receptionist out of instinct.

[Beast Familiar Talent]: Affinity (C-Class)

[Strength]: Beast Tamer Rank C

[Beast Familiar]: Curly-Eared Cat

Ethan looked at the beasts in the garden area ahead.

Soon, detailed information about the creatures he scanned appeared before him:

[Race]: Monkey King (Strength Type)

[Rank]: B Level

[Talent]: Matrial Arts (D)

[Bloodline]: Elite

[Skill]: Furious Boxing

[Evolution Chain]: Unknown (Does not meet the requirements)

[Race]: Tree Vine Frog (Grass Type)

[Level]: B+

[Talent]: Energy Storage (C)

[Bloodline]: High-Elite

[Skills]: Fast Whiplash, Photosynthesis

[Race]: Symphony Butterfly (Wind)

[Level]: C

[Talent]: Hurricane (B), Psychedelic (A)

[Bloodline]: Normal +

[Skills]: Wind Blade , Speed Dodge , Multiple Clone, Color Pollen

[Evolution Chain]: Unknown (Does not meet the requirements)

When Ethan saw the Symphony Butterfly, he hesitated for a moment. A beast with dual talents and such an array of skills was undoubtedly a rare find in a Beast breeding center.

However, it didn't match his talent requirements, so he reluctantly passed it over.

But this experience gave him newfound appreciation for his Beast Taming Talent.

Not only could he observe detailed information about beasts, but he could also detect some hidden traits and skills. This would give him a significant advantage in future battles—no surprises, no hidden cards. Everything would be laid bare before him.

Unfortunately, beasts that didn't align with his talent didn't reveal their evolutionary chains. Still, Ethan thought with excitement: 'If I could sell information on evolution chains, I'd probably can make alot of moeny. People would definitely pay alot for it!'

As his abilities developed, he might one day become an "omniscient and omnipotent" tamer.

After wandering through the garden area for a while without finding anything suitable, Ethan requested the receptionist to take him to other areas.

he explored the water section, the avian section, and even the special cultivation section, but none of the beasts matched his requirements.

By the time they were done, the receptionist's polite smile had become stiff. If not for her professionalism, she might have voiced her frustration:

Is this guy just messing with me?

Ethan sighed and gave up.

As he exited, he quickly pieced together the reason for his failure:

The Beasts in the Beast breeding center were too normal. They lacked the distinct, chaotic characteristics of the restrained creatures he needed.

Only beasts with violent temperaments or genetic mutations might suit his requirements, but such creatures were rarely displayed in public breeding centers.

After all, these beasts were notoriously difficult to contract and could even harm their prospective tamers.

two Options Remained

Visit the Material Market

Near the entrance to the gates, this bustling hub was filled with mercenaries, material hunters, and junior adventurers. Weapons, rare resources, beast eggs, and cubs of all kinds could be found here.

It was also where deformed and unstable beasts were often traded—an unregulated but thriving market.

Enter the gates

Within the gates, one could find all kinds of ferocious, bloodthirsty, and terrifying beasts. It was an ideal place to locate creatures with the characteristics he needed.

However, Ethan lacked both the qualifications and the strength to enter a gate, even the weakest. He didn't even have a Beast Tamer badge yet, let alone the ability to protect himself in such a dangerous environment.

'For now, the Material Market seemed like the only viable option.'

Ethan decided to head there tomorrow and test his luck.

As he exited, he was startled to hear someone call out his name:

"Ethan!"

Turning around, he was surprised to see Emma.

Emma was no stranger to Ethan. She was his former classmate and rumored to be the daughter of a powerful corporate magnate.

'What is she doing here?'
