Alarm rings....Brzzzz
A groan and the sounds of rufling sheets was heard..Ding... she stops the clock.
She sat up with a big yawn as she stretched lazily on the bed, her hair looking dishelved and her mouth wet from drooling.
She stood up and went to the bathroom to do her routines and came out more refreshed with a towel wrapped around her. She did the needful and wore a simple dress applying a little touch of makeup before going down stairs.
"Good morning" she greeted all the staffs while heading towards the dinning room. She was welcomed by the dishes all lined out on a long table which could occupy at least ten people.
"Are we having a feast or what..." she asked somewhat displeased with what she saw, Yes she was rich to a managable extent but she hated wasting food especially in a time like this.
"Master said some guest are coming over" The maid simply said and bowed her head and left.A few minutes later Mara, the chief maid came in with a smile.
" Oh, Aunty what is going on, where is dad" she asked with a smile acknowledging her presence
"He'll be down soon, so would the guest. You dont look to bad yourself, been preparing huh? She asked with a glint of sarcasm in her voice
"No aunty, i wasnt even aware that we were having a guest today" Katherine defeneded just then a tall figure was coming down the stairs with his back straight and a distant expression.
"Good morning dad " she greeted and he hummed in reply. She cleaes her throat wondering how she would present the matter to him.
"Hmm, Dad who are we expecting" She asked him as he settled down in his seat.
"You would know when the time comes" He said simply a bit cold which was odd, he was always sweet to her. Just then the door belll rings. A few minutes later Mara came in with a very striking tall figure, Katherine stared in awe on how a man can be this beautiful.
The handsome man took his seat opposite her after of course greeting her Father Mr. Anderson.The room fell in an akward silence only clattering of the plates could be heard as they ate, each of them lost in their own thoughts.
After eating, the plates were cleared by the maids while they moved to the living room and took their sits.
" This is my daughter, Katherine" Mr Anderson said breaking the akward silence.
"And daughter, this is George Norman, the right hand man to the one and only Rowen Chase" He said with a smile that didn't reach his eyes, Katherine eyes widened taken aback.
They shook their hands and smiled warmly towards eachother.
"So dad what business do you have with them" She asked wondering how he was connected, it would be a great achievement.
The company in which her dad owns has began to loose face and was in a lot of dept, it was all wasted on my moms health, who later died at the end of everything. It is shocking how they even eat these days or even pay their staff.
"Well it simple... your going to work for Rowen Chase as a servant" he droped the boom and her blue eyes quickly widen

Meanwhile on the other side of the town, A tall handsome figure was walking towards his office clad in a fit suite, his face straight giving him a hot look.
Seeing him, his employees quickly got up greeting him, he just hummed and walked passed them towards the elevator, his secretary following closely behind.
"What are my schedules for today" he asked her still staring straight not bothering to give her glance, with her shaky hands she checked the book adjusting her glasses which he found irritating cause she was wasting his time.
"Will you read what is in the damn book, this is the reason i dislike women, you all sluggish and petty, George was on an errand that is why you are lucky to be here, so do your job well" he shot at her with an angry expression his vein popping out.
She gulped down hard" A conference meeting with the baords b...by 8, you also have an interview with Diane Finn by 10 ....." she kept listing them
He is a busy man how is he ever going to have time for love " she thought as they came out of the elevator, she quickly rushed to make some coffee so she wouldnt be shouted upon again.
Rowen was busy on his computer when he received a call, he rubbed his temples and picked, he never picks phone calls except it was important.
"What is it " he asked irritated
"Woah! chill bro, i just brought news from the Andersons" George said from the other side of the phone
"Dont beat about the bush, how did it go, am a busy man" Rowen said a bit angry
"Well i gotta admit, she was one hot chick, well she didn't react how you predicted she would" George said hint of mockery in his voice
"What do you mean" Rowen said frustrated as he checked his time and then sipped his already cold coffee, he quickly spitt it into his handkerchief calling the secretary immediately.
She ran into to the office only to meet his icy eyes.
"Why is my coffee cold" he asked not bothered about the call he was just on
"Sir , i brought it minutes ago" she defended afraid she might make him angry
"So you are saying its my fault huh, you know what you are fired" he said casually with no hint of remorse
She begged but it was futile as he threatened to get the security.
"That was harsh, dont you think" George said from the other side of the phone."she is human, you know that. Besides how do you expect the coffe to still retain its temperature " He said further making Rowen pissed
"What about the girl" He asked ignoring his question."What about her, falling already"George said teasingly
"Could you stop being a jerk and just spill, have got work to do"Rowen said completely frustrated.
"This girl is totally different and i think the one you have been looking for, anyway she turned down the offer immediately it was mentioned, i guess not all girls fall for charm and money" George said amused
" Dont tell me you are putting a liking to her, even without seeing her, i find ger highly disgusting, all women are the same, she might be pretending and who said she has a chioce, her father owes me big time"
"Well you have to give them time, looking at things, i think she just knew about it today and her dad hasn't fully explained what happened" he said,his voice laced with pity
"Time is what i don't have" Rowen shouted hitting his hands on the table
"The old man still bothering you "Goerge asked with his voice a glint of sarcasm
" He said if i dont get married before the month runs out, he will do something very drastic and we all know he goes for his word" Rowen said rubbing his temples
" That gives me an idea, why dont you get married to Katherine it will be cool" Goerge suggested
" No! she is my slave besides my surname alone can buy her, i dispise her after what she did to me years ago" Rowen said then scoffed.
"My hate for women increases day by day, i just cant stand them" He added and scoffed
" Not all women are the same, What Diane did to you was unfair and cruel, she is were she is today because of you, and now that her lover isnt satisfying her she wants you back... by the way do you still love her? Goerge asked curious all of a sudden
Rowen scoffed " Love... i dont know what love is and am not ready to know, all i feel is hatred, i can never love again and never will" He said with determination
" Hmm, Okey....concerning Katherine, what did her dad do to you" He asked Rowen
" It is not something we can discuss over the phone, am busy right now, I'll hang up now" Rowen said and hung the call.

"Dad!! Am talking to you how could you do this to me huh, how? Katherine asked tears flowing freely, her eyes swollen and red
"I owe you no explanation! He shot at her making her numb. He had never raised his voice at her before.
Realisation dawn on him, he ruffled his hair in fustration.
"Sit..." he motioned for ger to seat on the sofa but she was adamant
"I prefere to stand, now explain" she said her voice hoarse from crying
"It's been tough since your mom illness and you know most of the money from the company went to her health, it wasn't enough so i decided to borrow from him, i promise i had no other choice.....
It was a large sum, and i didnt have money to pay, so i offered him lands and property but he refused saying he would take you... I'm sorry i cant protect you, i just didnt want to give up on your mom, my wife" he said in tears

Katherine sat down on the floor resting her body on the door, she was tired of crying and just stared into space. After her dad explained she became extremely down not only because she remembered her moms condition but also on how she met Rowen years back.
"I'm in for it" she said face palming herself
