As Haruta followed Vice Principal Rusushi through the crowded hallways of Delinquent High, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The school was everything he had expected and more - a chaotic, noisy, and rough-around-the-edges institution that seemed to thrive on disorder and rebellion.
Everywhere he looked, Haruta saw students who looked like they had been plucked straight from the streets. There were kids with tattoos and piercings, kids with ripped jeans and leather jackets, and kids who looked like they hadn't showered in weeks.
Vice Principal Rusushi led Haruta to a large auditorium, where a group of students were gathered for assembly. The room was rowdy and loud, with students shouting and laughing and tossing paper airplanes through the air.
At the front of the room, a tall, imposing figure stood at the podium, surveying the crowd with a stern expression. This, Haruta assumed, was the principal of Delinquent High.
"Welcome, students, to another day at Delinquent High," the principal boomed, his voice echoing off the walls. "I trust you're all ready to learn and behave yourselves. But before we begin, I have a few announcements to make."
As the principal droned on, Haruta's eyes began to wander. He scanned the crowd, taking in the diverse array of students. There were kids of all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life. Some looked tough and hardened, while others looked scared and vulnerable.
Haruta's eyes landed on a group of students sitting in the back of the room. They looked like the toughest and most hardened of the bunch, with their tattoos and piercings and menacing scowls.
One of them, a tall, muscular boy with a shaved head, caught Haruta's eye and raised a hand in a mocking salute. Haruta felt a surge of adrenaline and returned the salute, earning a nod of respect from the boy.
Vice Principal Mr. Rusushi Oshisato noticed the exchange and frowned. "Haruta, pay attention," He whispered. "You don't want to get off on the wrong foot here."
Haruta nodded, feeling a twinge of embarrassment. He knew he had a tendency to act out when he felt threatened or insecure. But he was determined to turn over a new leaf here at Delinquent High.
As the assembly drew to a close, the principal announced that there would be a school-wide meeting later that day to discuss the upcoming semester. Haruta groaned inwardly, already dreading the prospect of sitting through another boring meeting.
But as he filed out of the auditorium with the rest of the students, he couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement. Despite the chaos and disorder that seemed to reign supreme at Delinquent High, Haruta couldn't help but feel a sense of possibility. Maybe, just maybe, this notorious school would be the place where he finally found his footing and turned his life around.
