The Truth Revealed
The days following the masquerade ball were a whirlwind of emotion for Victor and Celeste. Their kiss had cemented the undeniable connection between them, but Celeste knew it was built on a fragile foundation. Each moment they spent together only made her secret harder to bear.

The Investigation Deepens
At the Laurent estate, Marguerite and Antoine received the results of the private investigation. The detective had unearthed a stunning revelation: Celeste's real name was Elise Laurent. Her disappearance all those years ago had been the result of a kidnapping. Traffickers had taken her, but she'd escaped as a teenager and built a new identity.
"She's our daughter," Marguerite whispered, tears streaming down her face. "She came back to us."
Antoine, equally overcome with emotion, placed a hand on her shoulder. "We have to tell Victor."
But Marguerite hesitated. "What if it's too late? What if... their relationship has already crossed a line?"
Antoine's face darkened. "We can't keep this from them. They need to know the truth—before things go too far."

The Confession
That evening, Victor invited Celeste to dinner at his private residence. He had planned an intimate evening to discuss their future together, but Celeste seemed distant, her gaze flickering with hesitation.
"Victor," she began, her voice unsteady. "There's something I need to tell you. Something I should have told you from the start."
Victor leaned closer, sensing the weight of her words. "What is it? You can tell me anything."
Celeste took a deep breath, her heart pounding. "My name isn't really Celeste. It's Elise... Elise Laurent."
Victor froze, the name ringing in his ears like a gunshot. "Elise? My sister Elise?"
Tears streamed down her face as she nodded. "I recognized you the moment I saw you at the gala. I didn't know how to tell you. I was so scared of what it would mean for us."
Victor's mind raced as the truth unraveled before him. The woman he had fallen for, the person who had ignited a love he couldn't deny, was the sister he had lost. His breath caught, and his chest tightened with a mix of anger, confusion, and heartbreak.
"You knew?" he said, his voice a low, trembling whisper. "You knew, and you didn't tell me?"
"I was afraid," she admitted, her voice breaking. "Afraid of losing you. Afraid of what we had becoming something forbidden."
Victor stood abruptly, pacing the room. "This isn't something we can just ignore, Elise. You're my sister. How could you let this happen?"
"I didn't let it happen!" she cried. "I didn't plan for any of this! I've been through so much, Victor. I just wanted to feel close to someone again. To feel safe."
The weight of her words sank in, but the storm of emotions within Victor refused to settle. "I need time," he said, his voice cold and distant. "I can't think right now."
Celeste nodded, her heart shattering as she walked out the door, leaving Victor alone with his turmoil.

The Family Confrontation
The next morning, Victor arrived at the Laurent estate, his face pale and drawn. He confronted his parents, demanding to know if they had known the truth.
"We just found out," Marguerite admitted, her voice trembling. "We were going to tell you both, but we didn't know how to approach it."
Victor shook his head in disbelief. "You should have told me sooner. Do you have any idea what this has done to us?"
Antoine stepped forward. "Son, what matters now is that Elise is back. We're a family again. We'll get through this together."
But Victor wasn't sure he could get through it. The love he felt for Elise couldn't be erased by a revelation, no matter how much he wished it could.

A Shattered Connection
Days turned into weeks, and Victor and Elise avoided each other. Their once-deep connection was now a source of pain and confusion. Victor tried to bury himself in work, while Elise considered leaving Paris altogether.
One evening, as Victor sat alone in his office, a knock on the door startled him. It was Elise.
"I can't leave things like this," she said, her voice firm despite the tears in her eyes. "I know this is complicated, but you're my brother. I can't lose you again."
Victor looked at her, his heart aching. "I don't know how to fix this, Elise. I don't know how to be around you without feeling... everything."
"We don't have to figure it out all at once," she said, stepping closer. "But we can't let this destroy us. Please, Victor. You're all I have."
After a long silence, Victor nodded, his walls crumbling. "We'll try. For now, we'll try."
