Chapter 6 - What happened?

"Uh, I guess I'll go." Charlotte said while lowering her head so that the two boys couldn't see her guilty expression.

"Great, everyone should wash up after we're done eating and wait by the front door." Dimitri said as he picked up a piece of meat.

After breakfast everyone gathered together to go to the city.

"Okay, let's go." Dimitri said, activating his wind magic.

"Yeah, I can't wait to see this city." Devon responded.

"Yeah, let's go." Charlotte said weakly thinking to herself how she should explain it.

Dimitri, then took the lead and led them too where the city is, or where it was.

"I could have sworn it was here." Dimitri said as he floated above an open patch in the forest.

"Look, there's four people over there, standing in the fields." Devon suddenly shouted.

Looking down, Dimitri saw four people, three guys and a girl.

"Let's go and take a look." Dimitri said as he started flying towards them.

"Are you sure this is the right place captain?" A young girl with brown hair asked a middle-aged man.

"Yes, I've visited the city, Lorraine countless times so, I'm positive." He answered back.

Just then, a man standing next to the girl raised his hand in the air and shouted

"There's people coming from the air."

As everyone turned to look where he pointed, they saw 3 people flying towards them.

"Isn't that girl too good looking." The fourth member of the party said.

All four people were enticed when they saw the looks of the young white hair couple.

"Sorry, but wasn't a city supposed to be here." Dimitri was the first to step forward and ask.

'Cough!' 'Cough!' "Yes sir, a city by the name Lorriane was here." The captain was the first of the four to speak.

"Why are you calling me sir, I'm clearly younger than you." Dimitri asked.

"Well, only the top of the top can fly, so, isn't it natural to be polite to someone stronger than you." The captain responded as if it were a matter of fact.

"Oh, it came easy to us, so I didn't realize." Dimitri laughed awkwardly.

"What?!" That statement shocked all four present.

"Well, that doesn't matter, can you tell me why there isn't a city here anymore.

"We don't know, but from the looks of it, it seems like the city was eradicated." The captain said.

"Eradicated, who can destroy a city in a night to the point where every trace of it is eliminated." This time Devon was the one who spoke.

"From what we know, the only people who can do this is the despicable demon race."

"Is it possible for the demon race's influence to reach even reach here?" One of the guys from the party asked.

"Of course, even though we're winning in the war, they still destroy isolated cities from time to time. We just couldn't expect them to even destroy Lorraine, one of the 5 anchor cities." The captain answered his teammate.

Meanwhile, the girl responsible for all of this didn't even dare to look up and just stood there, behind the two boys, looking at the ground and staying quiet.

"War? Anchor city? What's with this?" Dimitri asked.

"Sir, do you not even know this bit of simple information?" The captain asked dumbfounded.

"No, we've lived our whole lives in these mountains." Dimitri quickly came up with a reasonable excuse.

"Oh. Simply put, humans and demons have been at war for centuries, neither side gaining an advantage, but six months ago, we summoned a hero to help with the war and slowly we started gaining an advantage."

"And what's the anchor cities you were talking about." Devon asked.

"The five anchor cities are the main defense bases of the humans. Now that one has been destroyed, we're left with quite a massive weakness."

"Oh, well thanks for the information. Let's go back." Dimitri said as he turned around, preparing to leave.

"Wait!" The captain shouted.

"Do you wanna go to the capital with us."
