Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Gathering Storm

David stood on the edge of another rooftop, overlooking the sprawling city below. The wind rustled through his hair, the cool evening air biting against his skin. But the chill didn't faze him—not anymore. With the combined power of the Hulk and Captain America coursing through his veins, David had never felt more alive. The strength, the speed, the sheer potential—it was intoxicating.

He flexed his fingers, feeling the raw energy that flowed within him. His muscles were stronger, denser. Every movement was quicker, more precise. He could feel the weight of his new powers, and though part of him was exhilarated by it, another part knew he had to be careful. It was one thing to possess power—it was another to wield it responsibly. The Hulk's rage was volatile and destructive, and the Captain America that David had absorbed was driven by an unwavering moral compass. It was a balancing act.

David's mind raced as he paced back and forth, considering his next move. He had made contact with the Avengers, absorbed Captain America's strength and will, and in doing so, he had gained a deeper understanding of his cheat. This ability of his wasn't limited to just physical power—it also allowed him to take on the essence of the person he absorbed. Steve Rogers' determination, the Hulk's uncontrollable rage, and all the other abilities he had yet to explore—they were his now, to control and to perfect.

But there was one thing that gnawed at him: the consequences of what he had done. He had taken Captain America's strength, his integrity, his sense of duty—but Steve Rogers wasn't just a soldier. He was a leader. A hero. And David knew that if the Avengers discovered what he had done, they would come after him. He was no longer just another person in this world. He had become a threat. An unstoppable force.

And that's exactly what I need to be.

The thought echoed in his mind, a reminder of his purpose. He wasn't here to play by anyone's rules. He was here to conquer, to become the most powerful being in the MCU. He wasn't interested in petty heroism or the burden of responsibility. He was the one in control now.

But he couldn't let the Avengers catch wind of what he had done—not yet. He needed more time to perfect his abilities. To study them. To grow stronger.

David's eyes narrowed as he scanned the city. His enhanced senses allowed him to pick up the faintest tremors of energy in the air, the ripple of power that marked the presence of another hero. He didn't need to look far to know who it was. The unmistakable signature of Iron Man's armor—brilliant, sleek, and packed with enough firepower to level a small army—was already in motion.

Tony Stark.

David smirked. This was going to be interesting.

He had seen Iron Man fight on multiple occasions, watched him use his tech to battle gods, aliens, and everything in between. Tony Stark's intellect, combined with the power of his suit, made him a force to be reckoned with. But now, David had something Stark didn't: the raw strength of the Hulk and the strategic mind of Captain America.

This wasn't going to be a fair fight, but David wasn't concerned with fairness. He wasn't concerned with anything but his own ascension.

David began to move, blending into the cityscape as his instincts guided him toward Tony Stark. The air was electric with anticipation. He could feel the heat signature of Stark's armor approaching—high above in the sky, cutting through the darkening horizon like a comet. David leapt from the rooftop, his enhanced muscles propelling him upwards with explosive force. He soared through the night, darting between buildings as if the world itself was his playground.

It didn't take long to catch up with the glowing figure of Iron Man, his repulsor blasts illuminating the darkened sky like fireworks. Tony Stark was focused on his mission, unaware that David was tracking him from below, stalking him like a shadow. The two were moving toward a particular section of the city, where David could sense a surge of activity—likely some kind of attack or alien threat, as was often the case in the MCU. But David wasn't here to fight aliens or stop crime. He was here for something much more personal: the tech that Tony Stark wielded.

As he closed the distance, David grinned. This was the moment. Iron Man's suit was a marvel of technology—its weapons systems, its flight capabilities, its durability—all of it was formidable. But David wasn't looking for a confrontation. Not yet. He had learned the value of subtlety in his short time in this world.

David dropped down into an alley, using the shadows to his advantage. He needed to get close enough to Tony Stark to make contact. He needed to absorb his tech—his suit—without alerting him to his presence.

Iron Man was hovering above a darkened street, scanning the area with his sensors. He didn't know that David was already close. David's enhanced speed and strength, thanks to the Hulk's influence, made it easy to remain undetected. He crept forward, watching Tony Stark's every move, waiting for the perfect moment.

And then, it came.

Stark was distracted, momentarily focused on a flash of light in the distance. David saw his chance. He moved quickly, his heart pounding with excitement. He raised his hand and touched the underside of Stark's armor with lightning speed. The instant contact triggered a cascade of energy through David's body. He could feel it—Iron Man's technology, his genius, and the power of his suit flooding into him.

The world around him seemed to freeze as the data streamed into his mind. His brain raced to absorb the information, cataloging every piece of Stark's tech, every design, every upgrade. The suit's arc reactor, its energy source, its propulsion system, and its weapon systems—they were all now part of him.

David grinned as he felt the power settle within him. His mind was buzzing, full of the genius of Tony Stark. He could now see the world through the lenses of a billionaire inventor. He could feel the precision and adaptability of the suit, the way it allowed Stark to fight with both intelligence and raw power.

Tony Stark turned sharply, his sensors picking up the disturbance. He didn't know what had just happened, but something was wrong. His suit's readings were off, and there was a new presence in the vicinity. David stepped out of the shadows, the power of Iron Man now coursing through him.

"Stark," David said, his voice laced with amusement. "Nice suit."

Tony's eyes narrowed, his hand instinctively hovering over his suit's control panel. "Who the hell are you?" he demanded, his voice sharp. "What did you do to my tech?"

David raised an eyebrow, flexing his fingers as if testing the new capabilities. "You're not going to need it anymore," he said with a smirk. "I've got everything I need."

Tony's eyes flickered with concern. "You're crazy, you know that? You've got Hulk's power, Cap's strength, and now my tech? What are you, some kind of... superhuman Frankenstein?"

David laughed. "Something like that. But I'm not here for a chat. I've got bigger plans than just taking a few toys from you, Stark."

Iron Man powered up his repulsors, preparing for a fight. But David was already several steps ahead. With a flick of his wrist, he activated the flight system of the Iron Man suit, using his newfound control to send the suit into a controlled hover. Stark's eyes widened as his own technology betrayed him, lifting him off the ground.

"Get out of my suit!" Stark shouted, his hands quickly working to regain control.

David grinned. "I don't think you understand. This is my suit now."

With a sudden motion, David launched himself into the sky, using the Iron Man suit's flight capabilities to propel him higher and faster than Stark had ever imagined. The city below grew smaller as David soared, the power of Tony Stark's technology merging seamlessly with the raw, unbridled strength of the Hulk and Captain America's indomitable will.

David had become something entirely new—a fusion of strength, intellect, and raw power. He wasn't just playing with fire anymore. He was the fire. And the world would soon burn with his ambition.

The Avengers had no idea what was coming for them. And David was more than ready to show them.
