As the dark shape loomed closer, Sophia's eyes snapped into focus. "Don't just stand there, we need to get out of here, now!" she exclaimed, grabbing Halven's arm and pulling him towards the nearby trees.
Arin and Kurten quickly followed, their eyes fixed on the approaching darkness. Lyra brought up the rear, her bow at the ready, arrow nocked and drawn.
As they ran, the humming noise grew louder, until it was almost deafening. The air seemed to vibrate with energy, and the group could feel the ground shaking beneath their feet.
Suddenly, Sophia stopped in her tracks, her eyes fixed on something ahead. "Wait," she whispered, holding up a hand. "Do you hear that?"
The group paused, listening intently. At first, there was only silence. But then, a faint rustling sound could be heard, growing louder with each passing moment.
"What is it?" Kurten whispered, his eyes scanning the surrounding trees.
Sophia's face was set in a determined expression. "I think it's our only chance to escape," she said. "Follow me."
Sophia led the group through the trees, the rustling sound growing louder with each step. As they walked, the humming noise began to fade, replaced by the sound of rushing water.
Suddenly, the trees parted, and the group found themselves standing at the edge of a fast-moving river. The water was crystal clear, and the group could see fish swimming in the shallows.
Sophia smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "This is our way out," she said. "We need to follow the river downstream. It will take us to safety."
Arin nodded, his face set in a determined expression. "Let's go," he said.
The group quickly followed Sophia into the river, the cool water enveloping their legs as they waded downstream. As they walked, the rustling sound grew louder, and the group could see a small boat waiting for them around the next bend.
But as they approached the boat, the group heard a loud roar, echoing through the valley. The humming noise returned, louder than ever, and the air seemed to vibrate with energy.
Sophia's face was grim. "It's coming," she said. "We need to get out of here, now!"
The group quickly scrambled into the boat, Sophia taking the oars as they pushed off from the shore. As they glided downstream, the roaring grew louder, and the group could see a dark shape emerging from the trees.
"It's gaining on us," Kurten shouted, his eyes fixed on the pursuing creature.
Sophia's face was set in a determined expression. "Hold on," she said. "We're going to need to move fast if we're going to get out of here alive!"
Sophia expertly navigated the boat through the winding river, her eyes fixed on the water ahead. The group held on tight, their knuckles white as they gripped the sides of the boat.
As they picked up speed, the roaring grew louder, and the group could see the creature gaining on them. It was massive, its body a dark, shadowy form that seemed to absorb the light around it.
Arin stood up, his sword at the ready. "I'll try to hold it off," he shouted above the din of the water.
But Sophia grabbed his arm, pulling him back down. "No, Arin," she said. "We need to keep moving. We can't take on that thing in a straight fight."
Arin nodded, his face set in a determined expression. He sat back down, his eyes fixed on the creature as it gained on them.
Suddenly, Sophia shouted, "Hold on!" and the boat plunged down a steep drop, sending the group tumbling through the air.
They landed with a splash in a calm pool of water, the boat bobbing gently on the surface. The group looked around, disoriented, and saw that they had entered a small, secluded cove.
Sophia smiled, her eyes sparkling with relief. "We made it," she said. "We're safe, for now."
But as the group looked back up the river, they saw the creature standing at the edge of the cove, its eyes fixed on them with an unblinking gaze.
"It's not going to give up," Kurten said, his voice low and serious.
Sophia's face was grim. "We'll need to find another way out of here," she said. "And fast".
Halven's eyes were wide with fear as he stared at the creature standing at the edge of the cove. He had never seen anything like it before, and he couldn't think of anyway that they had manage to escape from it.
But as he looked at Sophia, he saw that she was already thinking of a plan. He felt a surge of confidence and trust in her, and he knew that they would get through this together.
Halven took a deep breath, steeled himself his eyes fixed on the creature.ready for any action his team might take.
The group clung to the sides of the boat, their knuckles white as they gazed up at the creature looming over them. The water churned and foamed around the boat, threatening to capsize them at any moment.
"We have to get out of here, now!" Sophia shouted above the din of the water.
Arin stood up, his sword flashing in the sunlight. "I'll try to hold it off!" he yelled.
But Sophia grabbed his arm, pulling him back down. "No, Arin! We can't take it on in the water! We have to get to shore!"
The creature let out a deafening roar, causing the boat to shudder and lurch. The group held on for dear life as the boat careened wildly through the water.
Suddenly, Sophia spotted a narrow opening in the rocks ahead. "There!" she shouted. "We have to make for that opening!"
The group strained to see what Sophia had spotted, and then they saw it - a narrow, winding tunnel that led through the rocks and out of the cove.
But the creature was closing in fast, its massive body churning the water into a frothy frenzy. The group knew they had to act fast if they wanted to escape.
"Hold on!" Sophia shouted, as she expertly steered the boat towards the opening.
The group held their breath as the boat shot through the tunnel, the creature's roar echoing off the walls as it gave chase.
