Pant .....pant.....halven running thorough the forest with a fruit in hand while being chased by a mutated bear whose fur was as black as the shadows and slimey liquid dripping from its mouth its red eyes focused on its prey while it chased it looked like any other brown bear but its slim body(more like a bear that gym's) and razor sharp teeth told the difference ,the young boy continued running with every fibre of his so he could get out of this damn forest
He lamented ;i shouldn't have entered this forest ...
He looked back and the bear is still onto him without relenting fear crept in he put more strength into running just then he looked up and sighted the village but the bear was already inches from him with hands stretched to grap its prey same time halven jumped with all the strength he could muster and went right through the barrier placed to restrict monsters from entering the city rolled over while the monster bounced back from the impact facing the monster halven smirked and looked at the fruit in his hand making sure its safe the monster seeing this roared at halven tho was protected by barrier still felt the breeze and stench from the bear he covered his nose and stood up and unhurriedly walked toward the city while munching on the fruit he risked his life for .
The village didnt have any walls because its small village with a population of 9,000 people residing in it ,the only protection was it magic barrier set up using mystic papers they are like pre-installed magic barriers where anyone with mana can install jus by infusing mana into it
Halven looked behind shaking his head he taught ;what if i had died there no one will even notice i take too much risk am just fourteen
He continued forward coming from the barrier to the city was about 100 meters buh he walked through never minding the distance jus as he got to close to the village he noticed the gaurds out side the small fence made of wood that encased the village ,the guards where chating when they noticed him.
Hey kid you shouldn't be going into these forest alone you are not even a caster or drifter why do you do this you want to die that bad? the guard questioned while furrowing his brows
Halven blatantly ignored the gaurd and walked right into the village
Hey kid!!! am speaking to you,he yelled at halven
Halven paused gave the gaurd a glance and continued walking down into the village
The gaurd became furious but held it in,his face red from anger the other gaurd just outrightly laughed at him for being ignored by a kid while he lamented ;kids these days while shaking his head
Halven got to the market ,puzzling with peoole doing different purpose all wanting to get and sell something from various stalls halven went to particular stall were he handed over the reminder of the fruit he got
Hello mr kurten here are five red flow friuts halven said handing over the fruit .
Kurten receive fruit after checking and gave halven five copper coins ,halven recieved the coins and walked away
Mr kurten looked at halven back shaking his head with pity halven was jus a kid having to go through such risk every day in dog eat dog world its a pity he said going back to his business ,halven walked around thinking ;yes i've got five copper dis could last me five days i won't have to go to the forest for five days as he taught traders began wrapping up for closure he observed them for bit and waited till late when they have all retired and then he sneaked into a stall to rest for the night .
