After weeks of travel, they arrived at Eldarion's capital. The city was grand and bustling, full of life and energy. But even with its beauty, there was an uneasiness in the air.
Eldrin led them straight to the royal court. Inside, they were met with skeptical stares. Nobles whispered among themselves, their eyes full of doubt as they looked at Kai.
"This is the hero?" one of them scoffed. "He looks like a child."
Kai clenched his fists but stayed quiet. He felt out of place, like he didn't belong. But no matter how much he doubted himself, he couldn't back down now.
The queen, seated on her high throne, studied him carefully. She was a commanding figure, her sharp eyes fixed on him. "If you truly are the reincarnation of Ardyn, prove it," she said. "Show us your power."
Kai hesitated. His heart was pounding, and his palms felt slick with sweat. He glanced at Eldrin, who gave him a small nod of encouragement. Taking a deep breath, Kai closed his eyes and focused. Slowly, light began to pour from his hands, filling the room with a radiant glow.
Gasps echoed through the court. Many stared in shock and awe, but not everyone was convinced.
A tall, stern man stepped forward. His voice was cold as he said, "Power alone doesn't make a hero. A little light show proves nothing."
Before Kai could respond, Lirae moved in front of him, her blades flashing in the light. "Watch your mouth," she snapped. "Kai is more than you'll ever be."
The tension in the room was unbearable, but the queen raised a hand, silencing everyone.
"Enough," she said firmly. "The prophecy speaks of a trial. Let us see if this boy is truly the one."
Kai felt a wave of dread. The journey ahead was only going to get harder
