After traveling from Westford for so long, Ronan and Aurelia finally came to Greyvein Town. The streets were bustling as vendors called out their merchandise while people hurried by, yet there was something different about the air, some kind of tension that hit Ronan right off the bat.
They walked side by side, both carrying sacks slung over their shoulders. Aurelia readjusted her own and broke the silence. "So why did we have to travel all the way for this mining work? The locals could've handled this."
Ronan's bright blue eyes darted around the landscape, constantly alert. "This isn't an ordinary job. Miners haven't returned in two days, and neither have the rescue team that went to find them."
Aurelia's curiosity is growing. "Sometimes miners get lost, right? Maybe it's just a cave-in?
"There's more," Ronan said, his voice serious. "Monsters have started appearing in and around the mine. Monsters that shouldn't be here."
