"Help!" Eve cried out for help once again. A werewolf with dense black fur chased her relentlessly.
"Don't! Don't do this to me, I beg you." Eve whimpered in pain, she was still caught by the horrible werewolf. Even on some parts of Eve's body, it was full of scratches.
"You rejected me? It's not that easy!"
"Your gambling, drunken mother sold you to me! Soon you will be my Luna!" The werewolf tried to bite Eve's neck. The girl was naturally frightened.
"Don't expect it! I'm not something to be traded!" Eve spat in the face of the werewolf in front of her.
The werewolf grinned, it wiped Eve's spit with a fierce look as if it was ready to stab at any time.
"So arrogant! Let's see, you'll bow down to me!"
"Take it off! I won't be your Luna!" Eve tried to dodge as the werewolf continued to aim for her neck to bite.
"Please." Eve's voice grew weaker, her vision blurred. At the last moment of her determination, she hoped someone would help her.
"Brugh!"
The werewolf who was locking Eve's body slammed into the wall. Faintly, Eve could see how the werewolf was somewhat in pain and was surprised who was coming. Eve aimed her gaze at the person who had just helped her, but her face was not very clear. They were fighting, the one who helped Eve was far superior and stronger.
"You messed up my plan! Damn it!" Wiping the fresh blood coming out of her mouth.
"You're always causing trouble. You even forced a girl to become your Luna?" Clenching his fists, he prepared to strike again.
"Stop! I claim defeat." Suddenly the werewolf who attacked Eve earlier ran fast and disappeared.
Eve watched the fight with a dazed look. She almost lost the strength to breathe, until her helper's big hands wrapped a coat around Eve's body.
"Who are you?" Eve looked up, trying to see clearly who the man in front of her was.
The man linked his hands with Eve's fingers. Then kissed Eve briefly.
"You are my Luna," the man said softly. Hearing the word Luna, Eve's ears immediately buzzed loudly. She seemed traumatized and scared. Afraid that the man in front of her was like a werewolf who had just hurt Eve.
"Go away! I won't be your Luna!" Eve pushed the man in front of her hard. Then ran with all her might back to her house. Without realizing it, the man's suit was still clinging to Eve's body.
The man was about to chase after Eve who seemed surprised by his words. But his steps stopped when his cell phone was ringing.
"Our pack is in danger. You need to go home right now!" The voice on the other side sounded panicked, making the man cancel his intention to chase Eve.
Eve arrived at her home, thankful that she didn't get lost on her way home. Quickly, Eve washed herself under the warm water and her wound gradually healed.
Eve looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her body that was injured earlier did not leave any marks at all.
"What the hell is going on? This is the umpteenth time my wound has healed so quickly." Eve gaped and marveled at the miracle of her own body.
"Brak!"
"Eve! You little bitch!" Eve's mother came over, mercilessly grabbing Eve's hair tightly.
The girl was not frightened, instead she squinted as if challenging her own mother.
"What's wrong? You're disappointed, right? Because you didn't get a penny. Don't expect you to be able to trade me like goods!" Eve spoke first. That inflamed her mother and instantly slapped the girl.
"Plak!"
"Who taught you to be so brash! So what if I sold you? So what if you're like goods? You're just an unemployed kid who's been giving me a hard time since you were a kid!" Eve's mother scolded in annoyance. The woman didn't expect Eve to stand up to her so forcefully. Previously, her daughter had been gentle and never fought back. Even when she told Eve to do odd jobs, Eve obeyed.
"Let me go! Or do you really not want to survive?" Eve looked at her mother sharply. Feelings of hatred and resentment mixed together. Her eyes even seemed to turn a fiery orange color.
Eve's mother reflexively backed away, "Damn it! What's gotten into this kid?" Speaking unconsciously in a frightened tone.
"You useless child! Just look at how big your arrogance is." Eve's mother chose to leave and was somewhat frightened by Eve's drastic change.
Eve breathed a sigh of relief to see her mother leave, she really hated the pungent smell of alcohol from her mother's body scent. Not to mention, her mother's attitude was very temperamental.
"You didn't change at all. I know you missed being Mrs. Kate Anderson. But that life of luxury is ruining you," Eve said, referring to her mother.
"Hello Miss Eve Anderson. This is from Multi Corp. After reading all the resumes you sent, we are offering you a job interview for the position you want. If you are willing, please come today at 2pm." Eve was stunned when she read the email reply from Multi Corp on her cell phone. She didn't expect to get a job offer at all.
"Looks like it's my lucky break? Oh my! I finally got a job!" Eve shouted with excitement. She couldn't hide her excitement. Then she hurried to send a message to her best friend.
"I want us to meet soon. I got a job offer." Eve immediately sent the message to Lucy, her best friend.
Eve didn't wait long to meet Lucy, the tall, model-like girl soon arrived. The sports car she was driving was parked smoothly by the door of the café where they decided to meet.
"Oh my God Eve, I missed you!" Lucy rushed into Eve's arms, making it difficult for her to breathe.
"Don't overdo it Lucy. You almost killed me," Eve said, pretending to cough out of breath.
Lucy just smiled in satisfaction, immediately positioning her ass next to Eve.
"So, which company is lucky enough to be working with my smart friend?" Lucy asked impatiently. Her eyes even sparkled with enthusiasm to hear Eve's story.
"Multi Corp. You know, right?" replied Eve, who asked back.
"What? Oh my God! That's a huge fortune Eve!" cried Lucy in shock. Several pairs of eyes looked in their direction, making Eve a bit awkward.
"Keep your voice down. This isn't under the bridge!" Eve in a whispered tone was annoyed to death by Lucy. The one who was reprimanded just laughed incoherently.
"I'll take you to the interview. I'm sure you must be lying about the Multi Corp." Lucy immediately pulled Eve's hand to get into her car.
"Okay. If I'm right, you'll have to treat me to food and sightseeing all day," Eve replied making a deal. With a nod, Lucy agreed to Eve's challenge.
It didn't take long before they arrived at the Multi Corp with its dashing and towering buildings. Lucy's surprise didn't end there, as a security guard was now waiting for Eve's arrival.
"Miss Eve Anderson?" Without preamble or even a glance at Lucy. Eve nodded.
"I'll take you to the interview room," the security guard continued and walked ahead.
"But I'm sorry. For you only," he said again while glancing at Lucy who was trailing behind Eve. Of course the girl was annoyed but still obedient.
"Please come in." The security guard opened the room labeled CEO. Eve was a little daunted by being directly interviewed by the CEO of Multi Corp.
When Eve entered, their eyes met. Eve tried to remember the face of the man in front of her. She seemed to have met the man in front of her before.
"Eve Anderson?"
"I've read all of your resume. Sign this marriage contract immediately to become my temporary Luna." Clearly with a cold demeanor, that's what came out of the mouth of a Multi Corp CEO.
Eve gaped for a few seconds, her brain processing what the man in front of her meant. "Are you crazy? I came here for a job interview, not to be your hired wife!" Eve couldn't control her words anymore.
