Chereads / The Wandering Witch Celeste / Chapter 24 - Chapter 23: A Wanderer's Name

Chapter 24 - Chapter 23: A Wanderer's Name

"Lady Witch, will you not help them anymore?" asked Mirelle curiously, "I will, but they have to ask for it. It's not good to force help onto others, if they themselves did not ask for help." I replied to Mirelle's question, as I continued to tidy up the area around the camp and our table. "Okay lady witch." Responded Mirelle, as she gazed towards the other group.

"Excuse me." a voice rang out towards the direction of the group, turning around I saw the girl in white robe standing nearby our table looking towards my direction, changing her gaze from Mirelle to Me.

"Uhm, hi. Do you need anything?" I replied, putting down the stuff I was holding and walking towards the white robed girl. Who along with her, was a boy who had two short swords by his waist, wearing leather armor and a hood. "I know, you've given us quite a bit of supplies, but I wanted to ask, since I saw you using magic. I wondered if you can use healing magic?" said the boy with two short swords.

"If you can't use healing magic, that's fine. But, if you have any Potions, we'll buy it off you." said the white robed girl, before adding, "I ran out of mana healing one of our party members, and providing buffs as we ran away from the Orcs. I thought I'd have enough mana by now to use [Healing Magic] on my party members, but I only had enough to heal one person." she paused as she looked towards the other boy who was leaning against a tree, unconscious.

The white robed girl continues to say that she used all her mana to heal the unconscious party member, as he was the one with the most severe injuries out of them. While he was thankfully out of danger, that didn't mean he wouldn't fall back into danger. The girl only had enough mana to temporarily save the unconscious party member with her mana.

I thought for a moment, wondering whether I had [Healing Magic], but surprisingly, I hadn't created the skill earlier. It was an oversight, but I had a clue as to why I didn't create it. I didn't have an image of how [Healing Magic] work, or if it exists in this world of sword and magic.

A silly thought, I had just honestly forgotten. I put my hand into my dimensional pouch, feeling the items inside the dimensional pouch as information of the item I held came to mind, when the item I was looking for was found, I pulled it out and handed the white robe girl two vials of potions.

"Here." I handed over one red potion, and another purple potion to her, them as I continued to say, "This red one is a [Recovery Potion], and this purple one is a [Mana Regeneration Potion]." before finally saying, "I unfortunately still don't know how to use [Healing Magic], but I hope this [Potions] will be able to help you and your party member".

"These [Potions] are quite rare aren't they, how much will it all be?" asked the boy in curiosity as he pulled out a pouch from his waist, waiting for my reply. "How much would these two [Potions] usually cost?" I asked in response to the other man's question.

"These [Potions] are pretty high quality, I'd say about 1 small gold coin is the lowest, while the highest would be 1 medium gold coin." replied the boy with the two short swords. Thinking for a bit, I was shocked to find out that the potion I had made using [Creation Magic] was that high quality. I should avoid saying I made it, to avoid unnecessary trouble, if I can.

I had knowledge about this world's currency thanks to [Scholar] and knowledge Goddess Sylvara had bestowed on me. If I pick a high price, I wonder if they'll be able to pay, and if I lower the price too much, I'd come off as someone suspicious. I thought to myself.

"1 small gold coin is enough." I said to the boy with the two short swords, as he showed a brief shock before quickly saying "Is that really enough? I mean, I'm thankful for the lowered price, but these [Potions] seem high quality!" he said in a panic.

I said in response to the boys with the two short swords were, "It's enough. You don't have to worry about it." I took a look behind them, to where they rested, to see the unconscious party member was finally awake but too weak to eat was being fed by the girl with the bow.

Noticing that they didn't have any fire going, I turned to Mirelle who was watching me talk with the other two members of the group and said to her, "Mirelle, would you mind giving them some of our fire to them?", Mirelle immediately stood up with a smile on her face, "Yes, Lady Witch!" replied Mirelle as she went to gather wood and some of the lit wood we had on the fire.

"You don't have to do that, we can gather them ourselves, you've already done so much" the white robe girl said as she saw Mirelle making a fire pit for them and creating a small fire for them. "It's fine, it's best to rest when the opportunity rises, especially more so when you've exhausted yourself." I replied with a firm tone in my voice.

They were battered and tired from fighting and running away from the Orcs earlier, most of them are injured, one had just woken up, the other ran out of mana, and the rest look like they have no more energy to spare, they also have no luggage with them. It's better for them to rest and recover, than to move up and about.

"Are you sure 1 gold coin is enough for the [Potions]?" asked the boy as he gazed back towards his party's camp, and turning back to the girl with the white robe besides him, the girl staring back at him. They look like they were unsure of what to do, 1 small gold coin is already expensive, not to mention what we did barely counts as anything worth considering this much.

"Yes, 1 small gold coin is enough." Again, I responded with a firm tone in my voice. The boy nodded as he took out a gold coin from his pouch and handed it over to me, I raised my hand to receive the gold coin, the boy put the gold coin in my hand and stared at me for moment.

"Thank you again, for helping my friends and I not only in fighting against the orcs, you even provided us a tent and food supplies." the boy said, continuing to stare at me, bowing when he had finished what he was saying.

The girl in the white robe then added, "Is there anything we can do to repay you?" clasping her hands together as she continues to say, "We only hope to reply your kindness", I didn't really have anything I needed them to do, and Mirelle and I can take care of most things by ourselves, and I said so to the girl in the white robe.

The girl thinking for a moment paused, and said again "Alright, what are you going to do next?" asked the girl curiously, and I responded not hiding anything from her, "Me and my companion are going to get out of the forest to look for a city or town." I replied to her question, and the girl immediately responded, "Then, why don't you join us in going back to Eisenwald".

"Eisenwald?" I asked the girl in white robe, and she responded, "It's not a huge town, but it's big enough" and the boy added "We're actually here to investigate the outer parts of the [Black Forest], and then we encountered a Orc Camp, and the rest is history. We plan on reporting the Orc Camp to the Guild."

"Since you're looking for a town, the nearest one is ours." said the girl in white robe, thinking for a moment, I turned towards Mirelle who was coming back from setting a fire pit in their camp.

I honestly don't know whether I could trust them, but I still have Mirelle by my side and I can always fight back if needed. When Mirelle was beside me, I held her hand, and turned towards the other two in front of me, saying, "We'll be in your care." as I placed my hand in front of me before bowing slightly.

"We'll be in your care too." said the girl in white robe as she smiled happily. "I'm Cliff, I'm the party's rogue." said the boy besides the girl in white robe, which the girl in white robe immediately followed and introduced herself as well. "I'm Elaria, but you can call me Ela, the party's Priestess/healer."

Just as the two finished introducing themselves, the girl with the bow approached us and also introduced herself, "I'm Sheryl, the party's Archer and from time to time the party's scout. Nice to meet you" said the girl with her hand held out for a handshake, with one hand on her waist and the other held out. "The one in messed up in the back, is called Theodore, he's the party's swordsman." Sheryl added pointing towards the man leaning against the tree.

"This is Mirelle." I said, as I introduced Mirelle who was standing by my side cheerfully, Mirelle then added cheerfully "I'm Mirelle, Nice to meet you!" as she took the Marie's hand and shook it vigorously. "She's my dear companion." I added, before finally introducing myself to them.

"She's Lady Witch!" said Mirelle energetically, as she pointed to me with a proud look on her face. She introduced me to them, before I could, "Lady Witch?" asked Elaria and Sheryl with a confused look on their face. "hahaha." I laughed for a bit before adding, "It's a nickname Mirelle had come up for me."

Names really weren't important to me, but I've been thinking about them quite a bit lately, and with the knowledge the Goddess Sylvara had given me, she had also given me a last name, which would be revealed when I name myself. I was curious about the last name, but It wasn't important even then.

While Names are not important for me, for my dear companion, it might be, and further down the road, I can't always be nameless. I need a name. I thought to myself, as I continue to think for a moment.

"My name is Celeste...Celeste Luneth, and this is my dear companion Mirelle Luneth." I said, as I pointed towards Mirelle and I, continuing to say. "I'm a Mage, and Mirelle is a Dual Sword user."

"Nice to meet you all." I said as I held out my hand to the group present in front of me.
