Chapter 1 - Chapter 1- The beginning of the end

Rohan was an ordinary man, living the life of a typical middle-class individual in the 21st century. He had recently graduated from university, secured a job in the corporate world, and was steadily supporting his family while enjoying the occasional weekend outing with friends. Life was uneventful yet fulfilling in its simplicity. Everything seemed normal until that fateful evening.

As he rode his bike home, the dim streetlights flickering above him, he noticed a commotion on the side of the road. Four men were dragging a young woman into a car. Panic flashed across her face as she struggled, her cries muffled by the chaos of the city. Rohan didn't hesitate. Something within him—an innate sense of bravery or recklessness, he wasn't sure which—pushed him to act.

He revved his bike and pursued the car. His heart pounded, adrenaline surging through his veins as he closed the distance. He positioned himself to block their path, hoping to force them to stop. But he underestimated their desperation. They didn't brake. Instead, they accelerated.

The impact was brutal. The car slammed into him, throwing him off his bike and onto the cold, unforgiving asphalt. Pain coursed through his body as he lay there, blood pooling around him. His vision blurred, and his thoughts turned to his family. He wondered how his parents would cope, how his brothers would react, and if his actions would even make a difference. Yet, amidst the pain and regret, there was a flicker of pride. He had managed to stop the car. The kidnappers wouldn't escape so easily.

As his consciousness faded, Rohan took his final breath.

Death wasn't the end.

Rohan found himself adrift in a strange, weightless state. His soul, untethered from his body, floated in an endless void. He felt himself passing through layers of reality, membranes separating dimensions. Each shift was disorienting, pulling him from one state of existence to another. Sometimes he felt three-dimensional, confined by familiar physical laws. Other times, he expanded into the fourth dimension, then the fifth, his very essence stretching and contracting in ways his human mind couldn't comprehend.

It was during this surreal journey that he stumbled upon something extraordinary. He passed into a unique membrane, unlike anything he had encountered before. The space around him was filled with countless lights, each one glowing with an intensity that seemed to hum with power. These weren't ordinary lights—they radiated a presence, an authority that felt almost alive.

Drawn by an irresistible pull, Rohan reached out and grabbed one of the lights. As his fingers closed around it, a surge of energy coursed through him, unlike anything he had ever experienced. The light seemed to bind itself to him, searing into his very soul. He didn't know it yet, but he had claimed one of the rare and powerful Authorities of this universe—a force called Rule Indescribable.

Each light in that vast expanse represented an Authority, fragments of unimaginable power scattered across the multiverse. By sheer luck or fate, Rohan had grasped one of the most potent among them. Rule Indescribable was not just a power; it was an entity that reshaped reality around its wielder, bending the rules of existence to its whims.

When Rohan opened his eyes again, he was no longer the man he had been. He found himself lying near a tranquil water body, his hands trembling as he lifted them to his face. They looked human, but they didn't feel like his own. He staggered to his feet and caught sight of his reflection in the water.

The face staring back was young, no older than twenty-four, with a rugged yet regal appearance. A jagged scar ran diagonally across his chest, a mark of a mortal wound that had clearly claimed the life of the body's previous owner. As he stared, fragmented memories began to flood his mind.

This body belonged to a crown prince of Atlantia, a once-mighty kingdom destroyed by the Seven Churches. The Churches had deemed Atlantia too powerful, a threat to their divine rule over this world. The prince's parents had sacrificed everything to help him escape, but betrayal had ultimately led to his death.

Now, Rohan stood in the remnants of that life, carrying both the prince's memories and his own. Among the fragments was the knowledge of Rule Indescribable. Even at its lowest stage, its power was deadly. Anyone who learned his true name would suffer an excruciating death, their body torn apart from within. This was only the beginning. The potential of the Authority was boundless, but so too was the danger it brought.

The Churches would hunt him, drawn to the beacon of power that Rule Indescribable emitted. He couldn't stay in one place for long. He didn't yet know the full extent of his abilities, but one thing was clear—his survival depended on mastering this power and unraveling the mysteries of this new world.

Steeling himself, Rohan turned away from the water and began walking. His journey had only just begun, but he was determined to face whatever lay ahead.
