The mercenaries stood uneasily in the clearing, their nerves on edge as they tried to piece together what was happening. The name "Rohan Arthur Atlantia" written in the dirt felt like a trap they couldn't escape. Their leader's face darkened with suspicion as he motioned for his men to stay alert.
Then, breaking the tense silence, a voice emerged from the shadows.
"That is my name."
All heads turned, their bodies stiffening at the sound. Rohan stepped into the light, his movements deliberate, his expression calm but commanding. The leader's eyes narrowed as he assessed the man before him.
"It's him," one of the mercenaries whispered, barely audible.
The leader signaled to the archer, who readied his bow, the arrow aimed straight at Rohan. "Vostok, take the shot," the leader commanded, his voice steady but cautious.
Vostok pulled back the bowstring, his target locked, but before he could release, the leader raised his hand, stopping him. "Wait," he said, his tone filled with curiosity. "I want to know what kind of power he's using. If it's an artifact, it might be valuable."
Rohan smirked at their hesitation. "Curious, aren't you?" he said, his voice carrying a faint hint of amusement.
The mercenaries exchanged wary glances, unsure of what to make of the man before them.
"Do you really want to know what my power is?" Rohan asked, taking a step closer.
The leader's grip tightened on his weapon, his gaze locked onto Rohan. "Tell me. What is this trick? What have you done to us?"
Rohan looked at them, his expression unchanging. "You all know my name now, and you've seen me. That means you're in my mercy. I can end any of you whenever I choose."
The leader frowned, his disbelief evident. "That's impossible. No one has powers like that. We're mercenaries. We've seen people with fire, ice, strength…not some ridiculous 'rule' power."
Rohan tilted his head, his smile widening. "You don't believe me? Shall I demonstrate?"
The leader's jaw clenched. "Don't waste my time with empty threats."
Rohan's gaze shifted to the archer. "Watch closely," he said softly.
The archer froze, his bow trembling in his hands. His body shuddered as he fell to his knees, his strength fading as if he were bound by an invisible force. His body starting twisting like he is some great pain . Blood started flowing from every seven orifice of the body.He is clearly died and painfully at that.
The mercenaries gasped in shock, their faces pale with fear. The leader's composure broke as he struggled to understand what he was witnessing.
"What…what did you do to him?" the leader demanded, his voice shaking.
Rohan's tone remained calm. "He couldn't handle knowing my name and seeing me. That's the price for standing in my presence."
The leader stumbled back, his confidence wavering. "This isn't true, why such a ridiculous power exists and all of that to a weak prince".
Rohan said " I think you don't understand really where are you standing and in whose mercy you are alive right now"
The leader Alex come to his senses and hurried to his knee and asked " may i know the price for our freedom ".
Rohan smiled and said " you are smart and i really like dealing with the smart individual. You have to do nothing just spread my name to all the individual who is hunting me right now and never ever told about my power to anyone other wise you know what happen .
Don't ever think that my power will weaken with distance. No it's like a mark and will never wash away and even I can't remove I can only activate it so there is no use of thinking too much .
Alex really baffled and really couldn't have but think that now they are in mercy of rohan and will have to follow him .
Rohan said " Go and spread my new name to all the individual"
