"Princess, this is too dangerous," said Naeyra worriedly.
"It's okay, Naeyra. I think I know this place by sight. You wait here, okay? Go and run as far as possible if I don't come back until tomorrow," explained Harin.
"Princess, please, we'd better hide forever. Madam asked me to take good care of you," urged Naeyra. She thought that her princess had changed and gotten rid of her careless habits.
However, it turned out that Naeyra was wrong. Her princess had even become worse by sneaking into the war general's family house just to ask something ridiculous.
Harin claimed that she and Nathan came from another life, even though it was clear that Harin was always with Naeyra every day. General Nathan had been a war leader for a dozen years. Naeyra thought it seemed that Princess Harin was still in a daze because of the strong fever that had attacked her these past two days.
"Naeyra, this is my only way to find an answer to why I'm here. You just wait, okay?!" Harin let go of Naeyra's arm, which was trying to hold her back to prevent her from revealing her identity as a fugitive.
However, Harin came with a different purpose. Naeyra doesn't need to worry if Nathan finds out that she is the daughter of the heir of the Narendra family; Harin will be careful. She just wanted to know whether Nathan experienced the same thing she experienced—being thrown into her mother's story when they face death.
Harin waved her hand as she entered the secret door in the Virendra Fael family garden leading to Nathan's room. Naeyra would stand there until her princess returns.
Ten minutes passed, and Harin wiped the sweat that had just dripped after traveling far from the capital to Virendra Fael's residence on foot. Now, Harin walks down the winding corridor with a candle that illuminates her path.
The corridor was indeed short, and Harin stepped more carefully, aware that Nathan might have set a trap. As it grew deeper and more winding, Harin didn't know why her chest was pounding harder.
For the first time in a long time, Harin can experience life with normal walking and a healthy, beautiful, fit body. Harin misses a body like this after years of being tortured by her stepmother.
Harin took a breath slowly. After traveling a few hundred meters, she arrived at the door; right behind the wall was Nathan's room. Harin didn't know if the killer who ambushed Nathan was already there or not.
In her vision, they attacked when the moon showed itself full. However, the moon was still covered by clouds. This meant they hadn't entered Nathan's room and ambushed her while Nathan was asleep.
Harin slowly opened the door to Nathan's secret room. As the door widened, Harin's eyes grew wide, for she was immediately confronted with five fresh corpses bathed in blood in front of her. A second later, a musty sword was pressed quickly against Harin's neck, and she couldn't speak.
Nathan stared coldly at the woman who entered his room; this was the woman he had seen that afternoon. Nathan's temples were sweating after he had fought fiercely with the swordsmen.
"Who sent you?!" His question was full of emphasis.
"Na–nathan... This is me, Harin. The woman you bought from my mother to give to your uncle," she said nervously.
"I don't buy women," he said. Harin looked into the psychopath's eyes, which clearly showed that he didn't know her at all.
"But you brought me to death and came here," she explained. Nathan raised one eyebrow in confusion and whistled to signal his bodyguard to enter the room. Harin widened her eyes because Naeyra had been caught; the knife was also ready to slash her neck. The maid of Princess Narendra cried out in fear when she saw Harin.
"Sir... I beg you not to hurt the princess. Let me bear the blame. We are just ordinary people who want to experience the beauty of the big family garden. Please let me take the punishment," Naeyra pleaded. She put her arms together, begging for forgiveness from Nathan, who didn't see her at all and was focused on pressuring Harin.
"Who sent you?!" he pressed. Harin was silent as she noticed Naeyra, who was pleading for her life. This was the first time Harin felt that someone cared more about her life than she did about herself. Naeyra truly devoted herself to her.
"Let me explain; please let her go," Harin requested.
"No, Princess! Your life is not comparable to mine," Naeyra said excitedly. Nathan was also seen thinking as he couldn't take his eyes off Harin, who didn't seem to tremble at all with the sword still in front of her neck. Nathan then signaled his bodyguard to take Naeyra back out. Naeyra's screams sounded very loud as she rebelled, not wanting to leave her princess.
Harin sighed heavily; this was not the time for her to feel touched by Naeyra's loyalty. She also dared to look Nathan, who didn't know why Harin could be there. Nathan didn't seem to have the same memory as her. Nathan immediately keep away his sword and politely invited Harin into the room.
"Why did you suddenly let me in?" Harin asked, confused. As a warlord, Nathan was too easy to trust a woman's helplessness.
"I'm a field dog; I can tell the enemy is or not. After all, you are called a princess and have a loyal servant. Where does your family come from?" he asked. Nathan closed the secret door that only he should know. He didn't know how long this woman had been following him until she memorized the way to his room. As for Harin, she felt weakened. Now she didn't know why she came here. Nathan himself didn't know her.
"To be honest with me, did you used to have a frozen food company right before coming here? We came from previous lives; do you really not remember, Nathan?" asked Harin. Nathan didn't look surprised by the question Harin asked; the magic still existed until now. But what Nathan knew was that there were only a handful of psychics left who could travel through various lives.
After the extermination of the Narendra family ten years ago, their whereabouts became a mystery. There are only a few official psychics who can predict the future and perform some magic tricks, but they are from Jayirendra's family.
"I just came back from the war after six months; don't make me think too hard," he said. Nathan sat down in relief next to the bed. He stretched all his muscles after finishing off the hitman. Harin immediately approached Nathan, who was spontaneously holding his sword back when she approached.
"Look at me. Indeed, we have only met once before, but I'm sure you remember me," Harin asked. She brought her face closer to Nathan, who was trying to accompany this princess. He squinted his eyes intensely while remembering the face he had just met for the first time.
"For me, this is the first time we meet," he replied. Harin sighed roughly; she bit her finger, confused about what to do next if Nathan didn't remember her.
"It's my turn to ask: how do you know the secret way to my room?" Nathan asked.
"My vision," said Harin just like that. Harin was too anxious; how would she live her life here if Nathan didn't even remember her? Harin looked at the floor of Nathan's room while thinking about her anxiety.
"Are you a descendant of Narendra?" Suddenly, it made Harin freeze. She stopped biting her fingers because the answer she gave made the second son of the Virendra family aware of her identity.
"N-no, I just want to ask that. If you don't remember, I'll just leave..." Harin quickly ran to the exit; however, before that could happen, Nathan quickly pulled Harin and dropped her on the bed.
Nathan surrounded the princess, who was hunted by everyone for carrying all his wealth. But it turned out she was now in front of Nathan and had come by herself. Nathan grinned as Harin held onto this man's chest. Afraid, Nathan confine her with his big and burly body.
"Only the Narendra family has a vision," said Nathan.
"Jayirendra's family also has it; it's because the Narendra family was eliminated," said Harin just like that. There is an emotion in her that Harin herself cannot control. Maybe it's because her status is part of Narendra's family. She became offended when Nathan mentioned her family.
"Jayirendra's family will not be desperate to come here; we have a written promise," said Nathan. Harin turned her face away, glaring longer at Nathan, which made Harin confused. Nathan's aura was full of emphasis. "Why come to me?" he asked.
"I just need the answer I asked for," said Harin.
"I didn't ask a woman's name, including the one I slept with. I've never heard of Harin's name because the coronation of Princess Narendra to the community has not been conducted until the family was finally destroyed."
Harin grabbed the shirt on Nathan's chest, He could feel it. No mistake, she is the princess who has been wanted by the kingdom for many years.
"I also met you for the first time," Nathan continued.
"That means I have nothing to do with you anymore," said Harin, disappointed. She tried to push Nathan's chest away from her, but Nathan remained silent.
"Maybe twice," he said suddenly, which made Harin stare back at him with hope.
"When?! In the previous life?!" Harin asked excitedly.
"One more time this afternoon, on the second-floor balcony of the capital of the Lyly district," he explained. Harin sighed harshly again; she was very disappointed with Nathan's answer.
"What do you expect from me?"
"I want to go; let me go," Harin pleaded.
"The Jayirendra family trapped your father and killed him. It was not Narendra's family who started the attack first," Nathan said. Harin felt a hot rush of anger as soon as she heard his words. Her heart suddenly hurt, and her anger came out so forcefully that she grabbed Nathan's white more tightly.
'Why am I so angry? Is it because I'm the only daughter of Narendra's?' Harin's mind was raging; she really couldn't control her emotions right now.
"Your mother was also killed by Jayirendra's hitman."
"Why did you say all this?" Harin moaned. Harin was not strong enough to hold back her tears. Her chest felt very tight, even though Harin's mind was trying to control her body so that she could manage herself.
"Come marry me; I will avenge your family," Nathan explained excitedly.
"What?!"
"Instead; help me become the head of the family. Marrying the daughter of Narendra's heir will make me equal to the other brothers. I may have soldiers, but I lack wealth. I heard that Putri Narendra brought her family's wealth."
"I don't want to deal with the three big families. I plan to travel to enjoy life," Harin refused.
"That's all; until I become the head of the family and you retaliate for the actions of Jayirendra's family. After that, you can go. How about it?"
Harin's chest was pounding faster; it seemed like Princess Narendra wanted fair revenge for her family. Harin still doesn't know why she is here. She hasn't figured out what her mother's purpose is. Now, Harin intends to find an answer from Nathan. But this man instead asked her to marry him to achieve his own goals.
"How can I trust you? I have no way of knowing if you are going to avenge Narendra's family?" said Harin.
"Contract: we make an agreement and get married in the contract. Okay? Come marry me, daughter of Narendra."
