Chapter 4 - Fireworks

"Princess! Thank God," Naeyra whimpered. Nathan scratched his ears because Naeyra's loud voice had broken the silence that should have been a meaningful night for him to rest. Harin smiled while rubbing Naeyra's back to calm her personal servant, who was really worried that Harin might die.

Nathan also received a very unsatisfactory answer from Harin. If this woman was going to think about his marriage invitation all night, Nathan suggested they go home and meet again tomorrow.

"Do you want me to ask the bodyguard to take you?" Nathan offered.

"No, you can't know where we live. You also promised not to send anyone to follow us. Stick to your word," Harin replied.

Nathan nodded and invited Harin and her servant to exit through the secret door that Harin had used before. Tomorrow, Nathan would wait for Harin in his room again to hear her decision about marrying him or not.

Although Harin was shocked when she got a vision again that the hitman would come back to attack Nathan tonight, Harin looked around as Nathan noticed the expression on this woman's face.

"Why?" Nathan asked.

"There will be more people coming, five people," said Harin.

"Princess?! You can't—"

"I already know it, Naeyra. That's the reason why you're still alive today. Because of your Princess's ability I need it," Nathan interrupted. Naeyra lowered her head; talking to the warlord felt very intimidating, even though Nathan only said a few words.

"From which direction?" Nathan asked.

"Roof, but I'm not sure. My vision was also wrong. I saw them sneaking in when the moon was perfectly bright. But it turns out that, even if it is still covered by clouds, they have infiltrated," explained Harin.

"Your vision was wrong?" Harin shook her head.

"Princess has not received a prophecy since the head of the family died. Usually, it only appears after princess has a high fever," explained Naeyra.

"Is your vision wrong because of the side effects of the fever?" Nathan asked Harin, who also scratched her head in confusion. Harin only has a vague memory of Narendra's daughter.

"What the high fever are the side effects of my bad vision?" Harin asked Naeyra. Nathan closed his eyes patiently. This princess seems a bit foolish; she even asked about the shortcomings and advantages of the abilities she had to her servant.

"I don't know, Princess, because the one who should know that is the Princess herself," answered Naeyra. The conversation among the three was interrupted when a sound from the roof was heard. Nathan looked up and tried to guess the position of the intruders above him.

"Let's discuss this tomorrow. Go now and take a detour to the right to get to the Lyly district. It's still my area, and it's faster to pass through there," Nathan explained slowly.

He closed the secret door to let Harin and her bodyguards go home safely. Nathan immediately grabbed his sword, which was on standby, as the sound grew louder.

The sound of a meowing cat made Nathan clicking sounds because he thought it was an enemy. Nathan widened his eyes when the window glass was suddenly breached by five hitmen who came openly, challenging him.

"Eih, she was right, her the vision is wrong. It turns out they came from the window, not the roof," Nathan complained.

The next day, Harin was still considering Nathan's proposal to marry him. Naeyra agreed with Harin to marry and avenge Narendra's family, and it seems that it is not impossible to do so if she is fortified with Virendra's family.

However, Naeyra is not sure if Harin will survive if she interferes with Virendra's family problems. Nathan's promise does not seem reliable in terms of whether they can hold it or not.

Afraid, Nathan only wanted Harin's power and tricked her princess. There are many things that should be considered first because, in another life, Nathan would hand over Harin to his uncle. Harin should be more careful about this man.

"Looks like I have a backup plan if Nathan cheats on me. Let's just agree on the plan first, how about it?" Harin proposed.

"I'm just a servant; the decision is still up to you, Princess," she said. Naeyra, who was mopping the floor, watched her princess cook. This was the first time Naeyra saw that her Princess wanted to cook by herself. Naeyra does not know if Harin can cook, but in another life, Harin was very fond of making food.

"Naeyra, can you buy me some extra spices?" asked Harin. It seems that she is quite unfamiliar with the cooking ingredients in front of her. Harin should be able to explore more with everything in this era of the kingdom; she was curious and wanted to cook all the dishes that felt strange to her.

"Of course, Princess, I will be back as soon as possible." Naeyra immediately went out to buy the necessities that Harin asked for. At least Harin feels quite happy living here; she can do whatever she wants.

Harin couldn't even sleep all night. She looked at her beautiful, well-groomed body, unlike Harin before, who was very ugly. Not long after, a knock on the door of her house managed to break Harin's pleasure in cooking.

"Woah, you bought so quickly—" Harin's words stopped when she saw that the presence that entered her house was not Naeyra, but Nathan Virendra Fael, who has violated the agreement.

"Nathan?!"

"Not, I'm a wolf," Nathan said, tired. He immediately sat down on the dining table chair when Harin approached, while hand on hips—she did not accept if there were uninvited guests entering her house.

"You broke the agreement not to follow me home, Nathan!"

"I didn't break the agreement. I'll let you go home. But because you were long, even though we promised to meet before sunrise, now it's almost noon, so I'm the one coming," said Nathan.

"Then how would you know I lived here if it wasn't for following me!"

"Hey, princess. You show yourself there," Nathan pointed to the balcony, the place where Harin saw the Festival yesterday. This was just Nathan's guess; he thought Harin was just staying here, but it turned out that this stupid princess was living.

Nathan smiled when he saw Harin stunned while looking at the balcony where she crossed paths with Nathan yesterday. She didn't think that Nathan would come here.

"Eh, you are not as smart as I thought," said Nathan, disappointedly.

"Pay attention to your speech," Harin said, not accepting. The attention of both of them was diverted by the soup water dripping into the furnace. Harin quickly approached the stove, pulling some firewood to reduce the fire a little.

"Wow, I just saw the princess cooking. Did your maid go for a walk?" said Nathan.

"I am not a princess," said Harin. She lifted the hot pot and immediately put it on the table. Harin pulled a bowl for herself to eat because she missed breakfast.

"I want it too," Nathan asked.

"Of course, I will assume that this young master is begging for food. Please, sir," said Harin. Nathan grinned when he was offered a bowl of the first chicken soup made by Princess Narendra.

"What about my invitation?"

"Of course, let's get married. But I have additional conditions," explained Harin.

"What?"

"Even though we are husband and wife, there is no obligation for me to serve you in bed, there is no physical violence, and whatever situation we face, you have to discuss it with me. Then, I will not give up any of my wealth. I am the one who organizes and prepares a financial management plan for your candidacy as the head of the family," she explained.

"I don't need your wealth I have rich. Just marrying a princess from a respected family, I have become the future head of the family," said Nathan.

"Ahh..." Harin looked confused. She did not understand how the nomination system worked in the kingdom of Cadfael.

"Then, why do you need my treasure? You are interested because I have my family's wealth."

"Just a formality. If I only marry an ordinary woman, I can enter the candidacy. Then, if someone asks my wife to show her property, it would be troublesome. Unlike you, you can immediately show what you have. The wealth you have is equivalent to Jayirendra's family. It will silence them." Harin nodded. She began to understand what Nathan meant.

"But what about the other requirements I mentioned?"

"Deal," said Nathan.

"That fast?!" Nathan nodded and sipped the delicious chicken soup. This was a taste Nathan had experienced for the first time.

"You don't want my many treasures?!" She asked in disbelief.

"Are you stupid? Why you offered to have a lot of wealth if you are afraid of it being taken? After all, I'm relaxed when it comes to bed. I guarantee you'll ask first. I won't force you if you don't want to. But I will try to make you ask me to naked. Oh my gosh! What did you add to it? This is so delicious," said Nathan.

He handed his bowl to Harin for a refill, even though the hungry people here had not tasted her cooking.

"I'm happy if you don't want my wealth," said Harin.

"It's not that I don't want to. To be precise, I don't need it. The spoils of war are quite piled up in the warehouse. If you want extra wealth, take as much as you want," he said arrogantly.

Harin hissed at the annoying answer from this arrogant man. She refilled Nathan's bowl, which looked excited about her cooking. Honestly, Harin was also happy with Nathan's reaction to her food.

"Is there anything else you want to add in the contract?"

"No."

"Okay, I'll prepare the contract after eating. We are getting married tomorrow."

"Hah?! That fast?"

"The election of the head of the family is coming soon; we can't waste time. Tomorrow afternoon, you will officially move to my residence. Packing tonight to prepare to be a bride. You will become Harin Virendra Fael."
