"Does the perfect relationship truly exist? Clara had always heard that loyalty, trust, and communication would guarantee a perfect relationship. When Clara learned that, she couldn't help but feel interested, because deep down she only desired one thing: spending the rest of her life with the person she loved."
"She convinced herself: 'If I work hard to improve these aspects, what could go wrong?'" However, Carla was oblivious of one fundamental fact! A relationship requires effort from both parties, and, unfortunately for her, Giselle only pretended to love her. In reality, she had an ulterior motive for dating her. And she was waiting for the right moment to betray her."
"When she least anticipated it, Carla received a low blow from the person she trusted. Although it caused her immense pain, Carla refused to dwell in self-pity; she was never that kind of person. However, something had changed in Clara; now all she could think about was revenge. She couldn't wait for the moment to—"
"Could you please read quietly?" For heaven's sake! I have the volume turned up to the max, and I can still hear you mumbling." Warren, clearly irritated, interrupted my reading.
"S-sorry?"
Warren and I were traveling by bus; according to Warren, a person he called Boss Luna wanted to meet me, or something like that, so we were heading to an unknown place in the eastern part of the city to meet that Boss Luna.
Warren had his black patch and black gloves on both hands as usual; however, this time he was wearing a black jacket with matching pants, along with headphones that blinked to the beat of the music with red LED lights.
Concluding his complaint, Warren adjusted his headphones once again to continue listening to his music while crossing his arms and closing his eyes. Hmm, I wonder what he's listening to? Pop? I wonder which artist he is into.
Oh, by the way, before we took the bus, Warren offered to buy the second volume of the yuri manga I've been reading. How kind! I never expected a gesture like that! Especially coming from him. As I thought about that, the volume of the music kept getting louder and louder, and curiously, I leaned in closer, trying to figure out the music he was listening to.
I may be loud, but when it comes to being sneaky, there's no one who can catch me.
"Now what's wrong, Mila? Did you get bored of your book?" Warren asked.
"Huh? Ah! No..."
"Then, could you please back up a bit? I can feel your breath on my neck, in case you didn't know, Miss Sneaky..."
"Ahahaha! Sorry..."
"I thought buying you the second volume of that manga would keep you quiet during the trip, but I see that didn't work..." Warren said, somewhat downcast.
"Ah? So you had a hidden agenda, huh? The moment you offered to buy it, I knew something was off... I knew it! You're not the type to show affection."
"Mila," Warren said, slightly moving his headphones away, "do you have any idea how annoying it would be to deal with you during an hour-long trip non-stop? No thanks!"
"Ugh! "How cruel!"
"Don't shout, please."
"..."
How mean! Yes, it's true, I can be a little loud and annoying sometimes, but this much?
"Anyway, you owe me 20 bucks; I hope you don't forget that..."
"O-Of course! "I always pay on time, you know?"
"..."
"Say something!"
"You're so noisy..." Warren muttered as he searched for something in his backpack. A mischievous smile appeared on his face instantly.
I wonder what it could be? A cookie? A delicious snack? If it's something like that, I think I could be quiet for the rest of the ride...
"Kukukuku, yeah, this will do," Warren said as he took out an object in his hands while laughing wickedly.
Intrigued, I leaned in cautiously so Warren wouldn't notice my presence. Sniff sniff... I smelled something, but I wasn't quite sure what it was. However, as soon as I saw what it was, anxiety took over my emotions.
"N-no, Warren. Please don't do it!" There's no need to use that. I'll be silent, I swear, please—"
"Too late!" Warren said, tearing off a strip of tape. Then, showing no mercy, he sealed my mouth with it.
"Mhmh!" I tried to protest, but it was all in vain... Warren was still laughing like a villain...
And that's how the rest of the trip went, me crying in frustration while Warren kept that sinister smile, still listening to his music; he was definitely evil incarnate.
After a long trip, we arrived at our destination. It was a place located in the eastern area, near the outskirts of the city. The place was full of small, two-story square buildings, apparently garages; outside of these workshops were wild-looking men wearing leather jackets, black pants, and leather boots. These men were repairing and modifying cars and motorcycles; they looked like those wild motorcycles you usually see in movies.
'What kind of place have we gotten ourselves into...?' I thought. Although I know it's bad to judge people by their appearance, these men don't seem friendly at all, no matter how you look at it. Observing them, I wonder what kind of person Boss Luna is. The only thing that comes to mind is the image of a tough woman covered in tattoos while snarling, "What the hell are you looking at?".
"Mila, we've finally arrived!" Warren announced. "Mila?"
"Mhmhm!" That sound was to remind Warren of the situation I was in...
"Oh, right, I almost forgot."
Ripppp! "Ow! Warren, you're heartless!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say..." Warren said as he walked towards one of the buildings.
"Hey, don't ignore me."
As we approached one of the buildings, two men came to greet us. One was muscular and tall, wearing a leather jacket but nothing underneath, showing a tattoo on his chest; he was also wearing jeans and was smoking a cigarette. The other, in comparison, was thinner, though just as tall, and had spiky green hair.
With a menacing stare, the thinner man addressed us in a rude manner: "What are you kids doing here? Get lost! This isn't a playground for brats!"
Whoa! These guys looked dangerous; I wonder if they're sorcerers too. Despite their attempts at intimidation, Warren remained calm.
"I was called in for a meeting with boss Luna. Where is she?"
"M-Meeting? "W-with B-Boss L-L-Luna?" Just by mentioning her name, the two men's tough appearance crumbled, leaving them with the appearance of frightened children.
"She's in the main garage..." the men said, their voices trembling and sweating profusely as if they had run a marathon.
"Hiiii!" After saying that, the men ran screaming, full of fear.
Warren and I continued on our way to the main garage. Amidst all the small buildings in the area, there was one that stood out above the rest, a four-story building with its walls covered in graffiti. What caught my attention the most was the gigantic shark head on top of the building, also covered in graffiti.
As I admired the strange work of art, Warren stopped and addressed me with a stern voice and expression: "Mila, listen carefully... No matter what happens, don't smile at Boss Luna, understand?"
"Huh? Yeah, got it."
"I hope so."
With that warning in mind, we continued on our way to the main garage, and with each step, my anxiety about finding out who Boss Luna was increased.
