"C'mon you apes you want to live forever!"-Johnny Rico

"GET UP SOLDIER, GET UP NOW" the sergeant roared into the private ear with a crack of fear in his voice.
The dazed private Ryan Quinn groggily with a grunt lifted his head up as he was rapidly dragged up by the panicked sergeant. His eyes were met with the desolate sight of what was once L.A.---a sprawling wasteland of rubble and ruin. His vision felt blurry and his ears were more clogged than a sink stuffed with a wet rag. His hearing did not serve him any good when the sergeant began screaming again.
"THE MISSION'S BEEN ABORTED WE HAVE TO GET TO THE PLANES NOW! COME ON!"
He could barely decipher his word before he was pushed with a ferocious might by the sergeant---which gave him the signal to start running, he began to stumble, nearly tripping on his first few steps. He abruptly stopped to try and retrieve his M4A1. However he had only made it a few steps towards it before he had felt the ice-cold grip of the sergeant's hand on his face once again.
quickly glancing towards the dropped gun the sergeant bellowed, "WE HAVEN'T GOT ANY TIME, START F@$KING RUNNING!". The frantic sergeant gave a quick glance towards the sky above before darting off without explanation, chasing towards the other soldiers within his platoon.
Imitating the sergeant he began to turn his head towards the sky above him. With just a fleeting glance, his eyes widened in raw terror, pupils contracting like pinpricks. His hands trembled violently, as though plunged into a vat of freezing ice. Before him loomed a sight beyond reason --- the sky itself, fractured and splintered like shattered glass.
Tearing its way through the clouds emerged a gargantuan titan, its concrete-like skin was decorated with knife-like spikes that jutted out chaotically throughout its body like an uncontrollable virus. Its sharp eyes emitted a piercing luminescent glow of deep blue and his mouth was adjourned with jagged amber-coloured teeth that emitted a repulsive aura. It's every step exerted a force unimaginably devastating.
Still frozen from the grip of fear, Private Quinn stood motionless, his body locked in place. But his stunned silence was shattered by a thunderous roar from above, a deafening blast that obliterated everything that surrounded the despicable creature.
The ensuing shock-wave hurled Private Quinn through the air, flinging him alongside a storm of mangled cars, crumbling buildings, and the fragmented remains of human bodies scattered throughout the ruined city.
his flight across the air was trailed by an ear-piercing shriek that echoed amongst the sea of the dead and rubble:
"AAARRRRRGGHH!"
His screams grew ragged, each cry weaker than the last until they withered into strained gasps. His eyelids grew heavier with every passing second, his vision flickering in and out like a failing signal. Darkness clawed at the edges of his mind, dragging him down into the depths of unconsciousness until---
THUD!
CRASH!
SKRRT!

August 14th 2024
"Today is a tragic day for America. On August 13th, 2024, at approximately 5:50 PM, the United States military officially abandoned its evacuation efforts in Los Angeles following an attack from a Category 4 Kaiju, code-named Shredder. Reports indicate that over 500,000 civilians were left behind with no means of escape.
As of now, Shredder remains at large, and it's been confirmed that yet another Kaiju has emerged within U.S. borders. Fear, uncertainty, and anger are sweeping the nation as citizens question the government's ability to protect them.
One thing is clear — the system has failed. It has failed the people of Los Angeles. It has failed all of us.
This is a sobering moment for America, and as we face this growing threat, we can only hope that those in power find a way to stop it before it's too late.
Stay with us as we bring you more updates on this developing crisis. God help us all...."
As he was sleeping on a ragged and torn couch, a shaggy-looking, dark-haired young man suddenly woke up with a loud snort in response to the TV
"In a statement issued earlier today, the President announced a significant escalation in the nation's military response to the ongoing Kaiju crisis. Citing unprecedented loss of life and mounting destruction, the administration confirmed that draft efforts will be expanded..."
"aw what the hell" the dark-haired young man groggily uttered as he grasped the remote control off of his stomach.
While rubbing his half closed eyes his begrudgingly stood up, still clasping the remote-control in his hand, and swiftly pointing it towards the TV, turning it off.
"What the heck I don't remember turning the TV on," he uttered as he turned his face towards the TV. With a sharp sigh he jeered toward his reflection on the screen, uttering a soft sigh as he continued staring.
As soon as Joon had gotten tired of staring at himself, he trotted over towards a curtained window, and begrudgingly jerked it open, which shot a bright beam of sunlight straight into his unsuspecting eyes, making wince in pain.
"aw crap" he groaned as he wiped his palms across his already red eyes.
After he had fully adjusted he opened the window, immediately welcoming in a wave of fresh air into his home.
However, before he could absorb in the atmosphere, his eyes immediately locked onto a group of military vehicles, there was a couple of trucks and in the middle was a car dressed with a shiny black coating parked in front of his apartment complex apartment complex. He was particularly intrigued by what looked to be an officer. It looked like he was whispering something to one of his subordinates but Joon was too high up to be able to tell what he was saying.
DING
Before he could think bout it any further his phone on the couch dinged. Distracted from what was happening on the bottom of the apartment he jogged over towards his phone to see who could possibly be messaging him this early. Could It be his mum or one of his co-workers, he wouldn't be able to find out until he checked so he brought his phone up to his face and turned it on.
Pasted right on the home screen there were two notifications---both texts. He brought his phone closer to examine it closer
Mum-"be right back getting groceries, have to get there before all of the apocalypse preppers do, PS:turned on the TV to wake you up."
"oh, It is just mum" he had thought to himself, a sigh of relief escaped his mouth. He was about to set his phone down until he noticed one more on the notifications tab. Puzzled, he scrolled down to, again wondering who it might be from.
"from G.A.R.C" it read. Immediately that name struck him like a punch to the head. The military? why would the military want to message him? Why this early as well?
rapidly swarmed by curiosity, he opened the notification and began to read.
