Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

*****

CADENCE

Cadence was now inside his hotel room as he was getting some rest. Their mission will take place tomorrow morning. They were just waiting for his pappoús.

He didn't know why he was feeling something was off, that something bad would happen. He tried to call his sister, but she wasn't answering her phone. Maybe she was sleeping. After all, it's still afternoon in the country where they are.

Cadence put his phone on the bedside table and he tried to take a nap to ease his mind. He doesn't know how long he keeps on trying to sleep but, when he wakes up it's already 4 am, he must really be tired that he ends up sleeping too long.

He took a quick shower, and then he went out of his room to grab some food. He didn't eat anything since yesterday when his cousin just told him that they were going to have a business trip.

Aether was walking to the long corridor of her school, she was early and there were not many people there when she arrived; she doesn't prefer arriving on time since she believed she still can use the advanced time she has to study if she will arrive very early in their school.

She gets her phone and headset to turn on the music. Aether loves studying while she was listening to some music, it makes her calm and relaxed. She was still busy that she didn't notice that some students have arrived inside her classroom.

Marie arrived at her classroom just in time. She roamed her eyes to find her target and when she found her, Marie started to go in Aether's direction.

Aether, on the other hand, was surprised when someone suddenly pulled her earphones. She looked at seeing who it was and Marie's smirking face greeted her.

"Seems like you were not aware of my presence, bitch!" Marie said as she was smirking at Aether, who was looking at her with no emotions on her face.

AETHER

Aether looked at Marie, who was now smirking at her as she said those words. She really was always like this. Marie was the kind of person who really likes to bully her. Well, not just her. Some of their schoolmates also were also bullied by her.

"What's with the look? Are you now going to fight me back?" Marie said to her as she was pointing her finger at her.

"What do you want this early, Marie?," Aether asked Marie, emotionless. What she hates the most is when she was disturbed when she was studying.

"What, you're brave now?" Marie said to her as she raise her brows at her while she was also crossing her arms in front of her.

Aether almost rolled her eyes at her, she really can't get her mindset, like she was the one who will start a small fight and when you fought her back, Marie will act like she was some kind of victim where in fact she was the bully.

She was about to answer Marie when their teacher went inside, and their classmates didn't even stop because they were all afraid of Marie's parents.

Marie was Half-American, her father has some business in the proper of their town and he was also one of the sponsors in their school. That is why no one dared to go on her way well, except her. She knew her ever since they transferred from this place, Marie grew up spoiled by her parents since she was the only child and she loves buying luxurious things, which she often brags about at their school and would even make her jealous as if, she would.

She saw Marie walk to her own chair and she did even turn her head back on her and she give her some death glares.

The Monteclaro's were having their breakfast together at the hotel. They seemed to have some serious conversation, but one person seemed to be restless, and it was none other than Cadence.

He doesn't know why but he was feeling something weird, and his heart has been beating so fast like he just got from a long run.

"Cadence, what is wrong with you?" Cleverence asked his youngest son as he saw that he seemed to be restless and like something was bothering him.

Cadence looked at his father, who was now looking at him, "I was just worried about Cara, Dad." Cadence said as he answered his father.

"She called me last night and don't worry, I've doubled the security in our house," His father casually said.

Cadence know that he should feel at ease since his sister had called their dad, and he already doubled the security in their house. Knowing his sister, ever since Cara's accident, his father made her believe in a different lifestyle, if way back then his sister was not the home buddy now, she seldom went out since she believed that she doesn't have any friends.

Well, technically. Cara doesn't have some friends except for them, of course, and Jasper's ex-girlfriend, whom his sister treats like a sister. But, of course, they won't meet since Jasper's ex has been hiding from them and she already cut all her ties to their family during their break-up, which happened of course when Cara was already in a coma.

That afternoon, as they were all waiting for the head of their family to arrive, they received a message from him that he was already on his way to the hotel where they were staying.

Not long when Kólasi Monteclaro entered the hotel room, everyone who saw him bowed their head and trembled in fear, as they saw the most powerful man on earth. The man looks old but he was still handsome at his age; he looks rugged and scary, and when you look straight into his eyes, you'll fall dead on the floor.

"How's everything going?" This is what he said as he reached their place.

"Everything going fine, patéras" Cleverence said as he looked at his father.

The Oldman motioned them to the function hall where they were going to have their meeting.

While the Monteclaro was busy, they didn't know that the princess of their clan was already kidnapped by another mafia named Chaos Monreal.
