Linda POV
I looked at the unopened coffee in front of me while pacing back and forth in the silent café, my fingers shaking. It was like entering a lion's cave when I first met Nathan. But he was the only one with the answers I needed.
My heart leapt as the door chimed. Nathan walked in with a cocky smile and a smart suit that made my stomach turn. His icy stare pierced me as he slid into the chair across from me.
"Linda," he said with ease. "What a delightful surprise."
I made myself take a seat. "Stop wasting your time, Nathan. Why are you pursuing Kevin? What are you looking for from me?"
Nathan smiled broadly as he leaned back. "Direct and to the point. That's nice. Let's face it, though: you're here because you also want something from me, don't you?"
My hands squeezed beneath the table. "The truth is what I want."
