Chapter 6 - Breaking the bond

Chapter 6: Breaking the Bond

"What are you trying to do?" Angelina shouted.

"Shh, little angel. I have my mark on you now. Why don't we just have some fun?" Lothaire's voice was laced with lust.

"What are you talking about? Leave me alone, you monster!" she screamed, struggling against his grip.

"Monster?" Lothaire raised an eyebrow. "Then let me be one, if it means I'll have you."

Angelina was confused, but she couldn't escape. Her hands were pinned, and her legs seemed powerless against him.

"I itch to bite you," he whispered, his warm breath sending shivers down her spine.

"Bite me?" Angelina's confusion deepened.

Lothaire's lips trailed from her abdomen to her lips, igniting a desire she couldn't understand. He licked the delicate skin on her neck before sinking his fangs in. Instead of pain, Angelina felt an inexplicable longing and pleasure.

"You want me too, little angel," he whispered, his eyes locked on hers.

His lips melted into hers, his tongue penetrating her mouth. Angelina was lost for words, her body melting under his touch as his tongue explored her mouth.

He released her hands, and she pulled him closer. "Yes, little angel, you're learning," he said, his fingers exploring her body.

Angelina moaned, caught between pleasure and confusion. Was this joy or something else? She couldn't think straight.

Lothaire's gaze fell on his erectness, straining for attention. "Too much pleasure for you; now it's my turn," he said, rubbing against her entrance.

Angelina's moans echoed through the room. For a moment, she regained her senses. "Leave me alone!"

Lothaire laughed. "Why fight your desire, little angel?" He leaned forward, the skin on his chest slightly gliding with that on her breasts. He sealed her words with a fiery kiss, his teeth biting her lips in punishment.

Angelina tried to push him away, but he gripped her arms firmly, pinning her against the bed. He kissed her lips before continuing to rub against her clit.

"Urgh...mmm" Angelina resumed moaning. She couldn't deny the unexplainable pleasure Lothaire was giving her at that moment.

"P-please!" She begged, "I didn't hear you, little angel," he teased. "Just let me go," Angelina spat, much to his displeasure.

"No!" He pinned her tightly against the king-sized bed and thrust into her sharply. "Stop! You're hurting me!" Angelina screamed, wincing from the sharp pain she felt.

They continued until they reached their peak, and Lothaire ended up sleeping on top of her.

The morning sun spilled into the room, illuminating Angelina's disheveled state. Her limbs ached, and bruises covered her arms. Her lips were swollen, and her neck bore the marks of their encounter.

Five maids entered with bowls and towels to clean her wounds. Although she had knelt in the sun all day, it was surprising that her skin wasn't tanned at all.

Meanwhile, Lothaire seethed with rage, his eyes glowing red. "Why did I bite her neck?" he lamented. "I could've bitten her wrist or something. There are many other ways to draw blood!"

Logan entered, concern etched on his face. "What happened?"

"Find me a bond breaker before the day ends," Lothaire ordered.

Logan's eyes widened. "A bond breaker? You and the angel—"

Lothaire's growl silenced him. "A bond breaker, now!"

"Y-yes," Logan quickly ran away.

Lothaire sat down, massaging his throbbing temples. What type of game was heaven playing, mating him with an angel? This could lead to many unwanted events. A mate?! He had never thought of having one.

Angelina dragged herself to the mirror, exposing the mating mark. She was surprised by her image; her long, black hair now had purple roots, and it was even longer. Her purple eyes were even deeper, and her beauty was even more enhanced. Her graceful figure was now very pronounced. She was a bit fazed and confused about her new look.

Landing her gaze on the mark, she remembered Uncle Garrett's words: "Mating marks are unbreakable bonds between two supernatural beings."

She'd been mated to Lothaire, an unnatural union. She had to find a way to remove it; the longer it stayed, the more she'd be drawn to the devil.

Astra entered, fear in her eyes. "Angelina, what did you do? Your life will be in constant danger now. Your power is a very powerful one. Your mere presence in that cave brought the devil back"

Tears fell as Astra spoke. Angelina wondered why she was crying.

"You should focus on learning your powers now; that's your only hope," my only hope,Astra said, exiting with her shoulders hung down.

In the servants' quarters, the news of Lothaire and Angelina's encounter spread.

"I heard moans coming from the room," a maid whispered.

"Oh, really?" another maid replied.

"Yes, I was on my way back from master's study after clearing the tea cups. I passed by the door and I heard the angel moan," the first maid explained.

"What'll happen to Lilith now?" a third maid asked.

"Unrequited love is the worst," they whispered among themselves.

Aquila entered, scolding the maids. "Don't you have work to do?"

The maids scattered, fearful of Aquila's wrath. Aquila frowned, having overheard the maid's gossip. This angel had tricks up her sleeves. She would make life miserable for Angelina. On the other hand, she was worried, why hadn't Lilith returned yet, didn't she know of Lothaire's return?

Meanwhile, in Asher's temple, Lilith practiced her sword skills. Her long, black hair was tied in a bun, and a silver mask covered half her face, revealing only her piercing silver eyes.

In five swift moves, her opponent lay defeated. Lilith leaned her sword on her shoulder, dissatisfied.

"You did well," Ava, her trusted servant, said.

"It's not good enough," Lilith replied. "I'm still slow."

Ava suggested, "Maybe we should return to Cinderfall. Ronan and Logan could assist."

Lilith refused. "There's nothing left for me there."

"Just hasten the process," Ava said.

A servant rushed in. "My lady, Lothaire, the devil, has returned."

Lilith's expression remained hidden behind the silver mask. Her voice remained calm. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, mistress. He was seen in Arcadia and Cinderfall recently."

"Arcadia?" Ava asked.

Lilith's gaze narrowed. "Gather the horses. We leave at once."

The love of her life was finally back after so long. Her eyes brightened as she imagined his expression when he saw her.

Astra didn't return, leaving Angelina to practice alone, despite her body being in pain. "Consistency is the key," she remembered Astra saying.

She looked at the morning sun, her thoughts drifting to Arcadia. Her father must be going crazy, looking for her, her mother was probably weeping her eyes out, and Sera...was probably still picked on.

She missed the smell of home, taking midnight on rides, and helping Uncle Garrett heal patients in exchange for magic lessons; she missed all that.

A knock interrupted her thoughts. "Come in."

Anna, the maid who had set her up, entered. "Miss, I'd like to take your order for breakfast."

Angelina frowned. "Anything, as long as it's not seafood."

Anna quickly exited, seeing Angelina's cold response.

At the breakfast table, Angelina sat farthest from Lothaire. Anger still boiled within her concerning last night's activity.

Lothaire was silent, a bit surprised by her new appearance, but he had more things to worry about; he was still angry with himself.

The maids served the food quickly and left, sensing Lothaire's anger.

Angelina's eyes widened at the sight of meat; that was all she was craving. She felt it kind of strange, was it because she had slept with Lothaire she was craving meat this much.

The only sound was the clinking of cutlery. Angelina coughed, trying to suppress it.

"Cut it out!" Lothaire snapped.

Angelina struggled to stop coughing but couldn't , she felt itchy in her throat, her skin itched, and bumps appeared on her skin. She held her neck as she continued to cough violently, like she was choking to death.

Her eyes widened as she stared at the food in front of her; it definitely contained seafood. Oh no!

"Get the healer!" Lothaire shouted, rushing to her side. Did she have an allergy?

Angelina fainted, leaving Lothaire no choice but to carry her.The maid outside ran to fetch the healer, colliding with Aquila.

"Are you mad?!" Aquila exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, mistress. Master needs the healer's attention," the maid explained.

Aquila's eyes sparkled with malice. "Is the devil sick?"

"No, it seems the angel has a seafood allergy," the maid replied.

Aquila smiled inwardly. Her plan had worked. Now, it's time to see Angelina in pain.
