Chereads / Crazy Blood Demon / Chapter 5 - Safe Zone

Chapter 5 - Safe Zone

Someone was shaking Bob, and so Bob woke up.

It was Addak, who looked pretty angry.

"You're getting lazy."

When Bob stood up, he saw Addak in front of him. He was still on the same bridge, standing atop a pile of dead zombies.

"Since you got separated from the survivors, I made you a separate scenario." Addak paused before adding, "I told the others this, so I'll tell you too. On special occasions, like now when I'm with you, you can ask for what you'd like, and I'll open a shop where you can buy stuff."

Bob thought for a while and decided to get a skill box since he didn't have any real combat skills yet.

[Coins: 2060]

[Common skill box: 2000 coins

Uncommon skill box: 20000 Coins

Rare skill box: 200000 Coins

Epic skill box: 2000000 Coins

"So overpriced," Bob sighed when he saw the prices.

He purchased a common skill box.

Bob retrieved the box from his inventory. A beige box with a skill icon appeared in his hand.

[You opened the box with the common skill]

[You have been given the skill: Whispering Forest]

Bob clicked on his new skill to see its details.

[Whispering Forest]

Rarity: Common

Consumption: 1 MP every second

The user can connect with a nature spirit and summon a faint whisper of the forest, which confuses and weakens nearby enemies. This whisper can cause enemy units to become disoriented and their attacks to be 5% less accurate. It cannot be used on organisms that have a higher level than you.

Bob saw potential in this skill, though for now, it seemed pretty useless.

When Addak saw Bob had finished, he impatiently asked, "Can I teleport you now?"

Bob pondered briefly and said, "Wait a minute, I'll still use my XP."

Addak sighed.

Bob thought about where to allocate his bonus points but decided to save them for later.

Addak, without asking further, teleported Bob.

Bob appeared in a collapsed city filled with large, strong monsters that he clearly didn't stand a chance against yet.

[The area you're in is highly radioactive]

[Every second: -1 HP]

Bob quickly decided what to do.

He saw a shop nearby. Running toward it, he placed his sword into his inventory.

[Inventory slots enabled: 2/5]

He grabbed four shopping bags and began to fill them with random food and drinks. Once the bags were full, he sprinted out of the store.

In addition to the large monsters roaming the area, Bob spotted a system window on one of the staircases leading underground.

[Safe Zone]

Bob quickly headed for the underground entrance and saw two men trying to shut it.

"Open it!" Bob yelled.

"We're full," the men immediately responded.

Bob, unfazed, said coldly, "I don't care." He kicked the garage-like door.

The door was torn off its hinges and fell on top of the two men. Bob stepped inside.

[You have entered the safe zone]

[Radiation doesn't work here, so you've stopped losing HP]

[29 HP]

Suddenly, someone shone a flashlight at Bob.

There were about ten men inside, armed with weak weapons.

The man holding the flashlight, who seemed to be their leader, spoke mockingly. "Who are you?"

"Bob," Bob said immediately.

The group burst into laughter.

"What a funny name! I wouldn't even name a dog that!"

[Blood Shadow is angry at them for mocking you]

[Night Whisperer despises their existence]

[Ruby Ruler tells you to kill them]

[Mysterious Wanderer says to beat them but not kill them because they don't deserve to die]

The leader continued, "Oh, I see you have supplies. With a name like that, I won't kill you, but you'll give me your supplies."

Bob placed the bags of food on the ground. From his inventory, he pulled out his sword.

"Ooh, such a beautiful sword. You'll give me that one too."

"Yes," Bob said coldly, "I'll put this sword in your head today."

The leader stepped back and laughed nervously. "I gave you a chance to live, Bob, but you clearly don't appreciate it. Now die!"

Without hesitation, Bob swung his sword, decapitating four men instantly.

[Blood has gotten on your weapon. Your weapon will deal 10% more damage.]

The remaining five men attacked simultaneously, but Bob effortlessly blocked their strikes with his strength and large two-handed sword.

He slashed at them, hitting all five in the stomach. As they writhed in pain, Bob finished them off.

[+155 XP]

[+525 coins]

Bob walked over to the leader, who was cowering in the corner.

"W-Who the hell a-are you?!" the leader stammered.

"Bob," said Bob, before driving his sword into the man's skull, just as he promised.

[+25 XP]

[+90 coins]

[Ruby Ruler is glad you killed them all]

[Mysterious Wanderer is sad you didn't spare them]

Bob opened his status to admire his well-earned rewards.
