Chapter 24 - Mysterious Eye of Perspective

At the ruined observation platform, newspapers and fruit peels were swirling in the wind, and there were several dried bloodstains on the ground. Huge, terrifying figures crawled slowly across these bloodstains.

This was Longhai Zoo.

Ten miles away, in a building, a five-person team had gathered. Leading them was a short-haired, sharp-looking young man dressed in a bright red jacket with a bloodstain across his face. He had been observing for a long time with binoculars before turning back to the other four and saying, "This cunning little thing has hidden in the lion area of the zoo."

"What do we do now?" A burly man in the group furrowed his brows and said, "That zoo is the most dangerous place in the city right now. Even though three of us are evolved, we might not be able to enter safely. There will definitely be casualties."

The two other young men in the group exchanged a glance. They were identical twin brothers, with one constantly smiling and the other exuding a cold aura. Among the strong team, the only two non-evolved members were the brothers.

"Bingbing, are you sure you're not mistaken?" The young man in the red jacket asked seriously, looking at the only female member in the group, Zhao Bingbing.

She had slightly curly coffee-colored hair, wore a tight sports suit, and had two handguns strapped to her waist. She was holding a notebook in her arms and wore pale purple glasses, exuding an intellectual beauty. Her dark blue eyes glinted as she spoke, "I'm sure. My left eye clearly saw that this little thing has a green energy inside it, which contains immense life force. If we can get it, it can heal any injury. As long as the heart and brain are intact, it can bring someone back to life. There's even a small chance it could allow us to evolve further."

The young man in the red jacket took a deep breath, clenched his fists, and looked at the other three with a sharp gaze, "I'm willing to take the risk. What about you?"

"I'm in," said the burly man, grinning as he hefted a machine gun over his shoulder, several bullet belts strapped to his body. "Bingbing has never been wrong. With her helping us, and with all this firepower, I don't believe we can't kill these monsters!"

The twin brothers exchanged a nod, then said in unison, "No problem!"

"Good. I'll observe the distribution of the monsters," the young man in the red jacket said with satisfaction, then turned back to survey the zoo through his binoculars.

The burly man grinned, "If we evolve again, we'll probably be second-tier evolved beings, right? Once we join the army, we'll definitely get high-ranking positions and achieve something big. Especially Bingbing's ability, it's so strong. If it weren't for you, we would have all died by now."

"I'm just providing some information. The key depends on you guys," Zhao Bingbing replied calmly, pushing up her glasses and quickly typing something into her laptop. Soon, a three-dimensional map of Longhai Zoo appeared on the screen.

"This zoo is a 3A-level tourist attraction with an area of 102 hectares. There are over 380 species of rare wild animals inside, with more than 5,400 animals. In the lion area, there's a pride of about 80 lions. If half of them leave to search for food, there should still be about 40 left. Our goal is to avoid being hunted by these 40 mutated lions and find that thing!"

"Or…" Zhao Bingbing adjusted her glasses and spoke indifferently, "We can kill them all. I believe that even if the lions have mutated, they still retain some of their old habits, such as territoriality. Other mutated monsters probably won't dare to invade their territory."

"I'll follow your lead. Whatever you say, Bingbing," the burly man grinned.

Zhao Bingbing pointed to the screen, "We'll enter here, then move to the sewer entrance, and from there, we'll get into the lion area. This way, it's safer. After all, there are too many animals inside, and if there are dogs or snakes, our movements will be easily detected by their sense of smell or heat vision."

The others nodded in agreement.

The young man in the red jacket quickly took note of all the monster locations and repeated the plan to Zhao Bingbing. The three-dimensional map on her laptop soon had several red dots appear, each representing a monster. A circle around each red dot marked the area where the monster could potentially move.

The team continued to fine-tune their strategy based on the map.

However, the so-called planning was mostly about following Zhao Bingbing's instructions. Although she wasn't a fighter, no one dared underestimate her.

Soon, after carefully planning, the team set out from the building.

Bang! Bang!

As they encountered the occasional corpse along the way, the burly man quickly mowed them down with his machine gun before they could get close.

"Don't waste bullets," Zhao Bingbing gently reprimanded.

The burly man scratched his head sheepishly and grinned.

Zhao Bingbing took out a small handgun from her waist. Her pupils began to glow with a faint blue light. As she looked around, the corpses seemed almost transparent to her, each one divided into sections, with various data reflected in her mind.

Bang!

A bullet shot out from her gun, hitting a corpse's skull. Since it was a critical shot, the corpse's head exploded immediately.

One bullet, one corpse.

Her shooting was incredibly accurate, but the others weren't surprised. A hint of admiration flashed across their faces. They had seen her shooting ability before. What they admired most was that Zhao Bingbing wasn't a soldier by profession—she was a computer hacker.

Her exceptional gun skills were entirely due to the power her evolution had granted her.

They called it the "Mysterious Eye of Perspective."

Through this ability, all the weaknesses and data of their enemies would be fed directly into her brain, making it easy to target and defeat them.

"Save your energy, conserve some cell power," the young man in the red jacket muttered.

Zhao Bingbing's blue pupils glinted again as she calmly replied, "With my cell regeneration rate, this little energy loss will fully recover before we enter the zoo."

Bang! Bang!

After killing two more corpses with precise shots, the team arrived at the outskirts of the zoo.

Since the disaster had occurred at night, the zoo had already closed, and staff members were cleaning up the remains. As they entered the zoo, they didn't encounter many tourists' corpses, just a few bloodstains and incomplete skeletons scattered about.

Following Zhao Bingbing's guidance, the team entered the zoo through the main road, bypassing the monster-filled red zones marked on the map. They successfully made their way into the underground tunnels of this large zoo.

The underground passage was pitch black, with the sound of rushing water echoing clearly.

The team seemed to be very experienced. One of the twins, the more cheerful one, pulled out a flashlight from his backpack and turned it on, illuminating the path ahead.

After advancing for a while, the young man in the red jacket suddenly stopped, listening intently. "Do you hear that?"

Everyone tensed up and tightened their grip on their weapons.

Zhao Bingbing's pupils flashed with faint blue light, scanning the surroundings. Suddenly, her gaze fixed on the sewage trench in the middle of the tunnel. Her pupils contracted slightly, and she quickly said, "Hurry, get away from the trench!"
