Weeks had passed by and Ezekiel was still hodling their lifeless bodies. Bay lifts broke down the front door and entered the home to evict Ezekiel's father for not paying the bills. There were four of them and they scanned every inch of the house and couldn't find anyone.
Finally, the bay lifts were outside Ezekiel's brother's room, where Ezekiel was holding the lifeless bodies. The door was closed, so one of the bay lifts twisted the doorknob and opened the door and as they did, the four of them were attacked with a pungent smell. In unison the four bay lifts covered their noses and squinted their eyes. The bay lift in the front was the first to open their eyes properly. When they saw the mortifying sight the smell of rotting corpses disappeared. The other free bay lifts also saw it. They were all in awe, one of them even began throwing up. They saw a frail malnourished boy (Ezekiel) clinging onto two dead rotting corpses. Frozen with shock at the horrific sight, they began thinking about what to do next. Frantically, one of the bay lifts had pulled out their phone and began calling emergency services, but what none of them did was a mutter a word to Ezekiel.
Twenty to thirty minutes later a plethora of paramedics and police arrived and began swarming the house and when they entered the room, they had a similar reaction to the bay lifts. As paramedics tried to take away Ezekiel's father and brother's corpses, he began to hold them tighter. He didn't understand what was happening, but he knew if he let them go, he wouldn't be able to get them back. Two grown men were trying to take one corpse away from a two-year-old and were failing. Ezekiel's determination to hold onto them was strong. Not only that, but it was also the only thing keeping him alive. Soon after a few more paramedics helped to make Ezekiel let go. After seven paramedics and four police came to the aid, they were finally able to free his father's corpse from his grip, but getting his brother's corpse was another matter entirely because when the eleven of them tried to do the samething with his brother, Ezekiel looked up and glared at them all. The intense rage that was in his eyes made them all flinch and step back. They were all sweating relentlessly, so they gave in, and the paramedics let Ezekiel hold onto his brother's corpse and checked Ezekiel's vitals, while he was holding onto his brother's corpse, and a tin foil blanket was wrapped around the both of them. As Ezekiel was carried onto a stretcher he finally passed out, letting go of his brother's corpse.
Weeks later an investigation took place, and the head bay lift was interviewed and said, "Never in my thirty-five years as working as a bay lift, or my fifty-seven years of life have I seen eyes like those. Especially not in a kid so young. I don't know what that kid has gone through in life or why that kid had so much hatred in his eyes. But what I do know is that he was no ordinary kid."
One of the paramedics that were interviewed said, "I've never seen such a horrific sight working as a paramedic and despite him being two his determination and strength is unparalleled. He looked like he hadn't had any food or drink for weeks maybe even months, I think the only thing that held him on was his will to protect his loved ones."
Every person that was present that day had to either leave their jobs or was in therapy. The sight and smell of that day was etched into their minds.
