Chapter Seven: The Struggle of Humans and Monsters
Main Character's Perspective:
After killing the Elemental Masters, I finally managed to calm my emotions.
When I saw that the Elemental Masters were beginning to surround my sister, I only felt anger and a desire to tear them apart.
But I soon regained my composure, and although my desire to kill them in the most painful way grew stronger, self-control took over, and I was able to think rationally.
Even though I could easily kill them all without them even managing to scratch me, my sister was still surrounded.
In a direct confrontation, I couldn't guarantee her safety, so I decided to launch a surprise attack.
As I reflected on the last battle, I remembered that there were five of them.
I had already killed four adults, and only a teenager at level 3 remained. So without hesitation, I launched myself toward the only living being left in the area, apart from my sister and me.
A minute later, I dealt with the last person in the place.
To my surprise and small delight, he had a spatial tool in the form of a ring with a 3 cubic meter capacity, something I hadn't expected to find with such weak Elemental Masters.
This wasn't the first spatial tool I had seen in my life.
A hundred years ago, three Elemental Masters came with a King to our cave in search of Elemental Gems. Those fools thought my mother was 20,000 years old and attacked her, which was the last mistake they made in their lives.
All of them had spatial tools, and my mother didn't care about them, but they were a great gift for me, especially a small necklace with a self-extending chain and a 20 cubic meter capacity, which I now wear around my neck.
Even spirit beasts can use them with ease.
The problem is that most spirit beasts aren't intelligent. The smarter ones don't care about these things because spirit beasts don't have such interests. When I discovered that spatial tools could be nested inside each other, I was overjoyed by the incredible possibilities these tools offer.
While flying back, I began to remember the past. It had been over 700 years since my sister's birth. During this time, our family had developed greatly.
My mother was very close to reaching 100,000 years of age.
According to her, there's less than a thousand years left until the breakthrough, which is quite pleasing because the difference between a spirit beast aged 90,000 years and one aged 100,000 years is like the difference between an Elemental Master and a mere Elemental Worker. The difference seems small, but the increase in combat power is enormous.
As for my sister, although she is developing rapidly for a spirit beast, this is only because I am nourishing her with my spirit and spiritual power.
Sometimes, she is able to purify spiritual energy through her meridian lines, but she usually just wants to play.
Currently, my sister's mentality and personality resemble that of a four-year-old child, so I always try to stay by her side since it's common for her to run away twice a week.
Of course, my own development also brings me joy.
In about 700 years, my training base has exceeded 5,000 years, but my strength now equals a spirit beast that is 20,000–30,000 years old. As for defense, I will not concede to any defensive spirit beast aged 30,000 years.
During this time, I didn't focus solely on training.
I finally completed the search for all my meridian lines, and now I manage my spiritual power through a system similar to blood circulation. Of course, as my body grows, new branches of meridian lines will emerge, but I am not growing quickly, so I haven't rushed the process.
Additionally, after my sister and I started training with our mother, she began explaining to us the cycle of youth, what can be done, what must be avoided, where we should not go, and what we should steer clear of.
While my sister was not interested in these matters, I absorbed the knowledge eagerly and often asked many questions.
Mother says there are very few spirit beasts that have reached 100,000 years of age in the north now.
Some are called "The Heavenly Snow Calamity," a phoenix aged 600,000 years,
Then there's the "Frozen Green Star Calamity," an ice scorpion aged 200,000 years,
And also the "Ice Devil Calamity," an ice giant who recently reached 100,000 years of age.
They are all called the Three Calamities of the North.
As for my timing, it turns out that about 150,000 years after the revival of spiritual energy in this world, it is still in its early stages of development. Even the human cities here haven't developed much compared to my previous world. Spiritual energy was revived only 150,000 years ago, and yet there is still noticeable technological progress compared to my former world.
This has fueled my eagerness to transform into a human form as quickly as possible so I can blend in with humans.
The training system in this world is still immature.
More than 50% of the land is not under human control. However, this did not stop the development of humans.
With the emergence of spiritual energy, humans' greed for power increased even more.
They found their way through killing monsters and taking the elemental essence from them, which significantly increased the danger posed by humans.
Humans began to acquire unprecedented powers and were able to exploit spiritual energy to enhance their personal strength.
However, with this advancement, the conflict between humans and monsters became more bloody.
There was a constant exchange between humans and monsters; humans sought to kill the monsters in order to obtain the elemental essence to increase their power, while the monsters were trying to defend their territories and protect them from human encroachments. This escalating competition became a greater threat to both sides, making the situation more complicated and dangerous.
As humans advanced, technology began to develop in amazing ways. Deadly weapons powered by spiritual energy were developed.
As humans progressed, technology began to evolve dramatically using spiritual energy. Deadly weapons, such as spiritual cannons that release massive amounts of energy to destroy monsters quickly, were developed.
Special shields were also invented to enhance human defenses using the same energy, making them able to withstand attacks from giant monsters.
With this progress, humans became stronger and more capable of facing monsters, but the development in this world was completely different from what I had witnessed in my previous world.
In my world, humanity relied on traditional technology such as firearms and mechanical machines.
Here, however, humans turned to using spiritual energy in all aspects of their lives, from industry to medicine and agriculture.
This integration of technology and spiritual energy allowed humans in this world to adapt much faster to the challenges they faced.
Unlike my world, where technology was based solely on physical resources and traditional science.
This difference made humans in this world excel in the development of technology across all areas of life, adding a new dimension to their conflict with the monsters.
This, in turn, fueled humans' greed and intensified the conflict.
In this ongoing struggle, the land became a bloody battlefield, where each side grew stronger, but the cost was high.
