Chapter 8 - Meal Under the Snow

Chapter Eight: Meal Under the Snow

After shaking off my gloom while soaring through the skies, I swiftly flew back to my sister. Within 30 seconds, I was back at the lake's shore, where my sister continued to lazily lie on a large rock, making me feel helpless.

"Aislin, how many times have I told you not to leave the cave without asking or at least waiting? Even in our own lands, danger could still await you," I said, my voice filled with frustration, as this situation had repeated over a hundred times.

Of course, elemental masters are rare here—according to my memory, their numbers don't exceed six—but my sister is still incredibly weak. Even the weakest spirit beast from the distant northern regions poses a lethal threat to her.

Aislin replied nonchalantly, "Brother, but the cave is so boring."

She loves running around the frozen lakes and sometimes enjoys deliberately irritating me, because even though she is weaker than me in cultivation, her ice skills are incredibly refined.

Sometimes, I feel jealous of her, and she tries to show off at every opportunity.

"Aislin, you must behave. Your mother is preparing for a breakthrough, and you distract her every time."

"Moreover, who will protect you when I leave for the lands of the Ice Scorpions?"

I spoke seriously, having put in great effort to get permission to enter the Ice Scorpions' territory with my mother.

Recently, my development had slowed, as had the enhancement of my core attributes like strength, defense, and ice control. So, I began asking my mother for permission to train with the Ice Scorpions. Despite being of lesser quality than us, they are among the fiercest offensive spirit beasts, strong in both attack and defense.

Aislin said with a slight hint of sadness, "Brother, but you haven't left yet. Besides, it's only a few days away from our lands, and you can still come play with me often."

"Enough with the early sadness. Besides, I won't leave until after Mother achieves her breakthrough. So, we still have plenty of time."

Perhaps, during this time, I can convince Mother to let me take you with me.

In fact, I had already discussed this matter with Mother, so my sister could accompany me. But I must reach 10,000 years of cultivation before Mother's breakthrough; only then will Aislin be able to join me.

However, I don't want my sister's progress to fall behind, especially since there are good training partners for her there.

As for me, I still can't even lift a claw against her. Mother protects her fiercely, often killing any dangerous spirit beasts near her.

As my sister and I flew back home, I began to think about my next development plan.

Still, I can't spar naturally with Mother—not only because I can't attack her with the intent to kill but also due to the vast difference in size and power.

Even if she doesn't use her strength to protect her scales, I can't so much as scratch her at my current level.

In the Scorpion Clan, there should be individuals aged 10,000 years or more—excellent sparring partners.

Considering that their Emerald Ice Catastrophe is 200,000 years old, and also called the Ice Scorpion Empress, finding a training partner can be postponed at least until I reach 100,000 years of age.

By that time, I'll be able to travel safely in the far north, as the only lethal danger to me would be the Celestial Snow Catastrophe, also known as the Celestial Snow Empress. But spirit beasts rarely fight to the death unless there's a mortal feud between clans. They usually withdraw peacefully.

Additionally, I hope that during this time, I leave a lasting impression on the Green Scorpion Empress. After all, in her human form, she was one of the most beautiful girls I had ever seen. I've never seen a human girl in this world, not even my mother's human form, but once I saw the Scorpion Empress in her human form from a distance, and she was the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on.

I am not ready to let her go to any other person.

In fact, I would kill anyone who tried to get close to her.

Anyway, in these years, there have been rumors about a rare treasure hidden in the Nine Beast Forest. The forest is named so because it is guarded by 9 fierce beasts.

It also has another name, the Fallen Star Forest.

Well, this name is new; I heard it 500 years ago when a red and white twin star fell into it. On that day, the world lit up because of the star, and since then, the forest has been known as the Fallen Star Forest instead of the Nine Beast Forest.

Therefore, this would be more beneficial to our family if I could obtain this treasure from the forest.

I then remembered my greatest weakness: the simple lack of information.

Although my mother taught me the basic knowledge about the far north, I have no source for acquiring information about other regions.

So, after traveling to the outermost borders of the far north, it will be essential to at least extract the closest human archives from the north.

By that time, no one below the level of a Legendary Elemental Sovereign will be able to fight me.

When I noticed a massive icy mountain in the distance, I stopped thinking too much and increased my speed.

My appetite matches my size, and I cannot hunt alone without disturbing the giant ice demon clans and ice scorpions around us.

So far, only my mother can hunt.

When my sister and I reached the far part of the cave, I noticed my mother dragging the corpse of a 10,000-year-old demonic ice bear, ten meters long.

"Well, we have a great meal today."

Selina said, "You're back."

As usual, my mother greeted us. She had already gotten used to my sister's escapades, and while she used to fly out herself to search for her, causing a few hills of stress, she eventually started sending me to look for her instead.

Aislin said, "Mom, I'm hungry."

My sister's cry was directed at my mother, who was unconcerned as she ran toward the bear, ignoring the talk of Elemental Lords attacking her.

I decided not to say anything and joined the feast.
