Chapter 94 - The War For The Universal Rift Part 1

Three years had passed. The fragile peace between the afterlife realms had shattered into chaos. Universal Land—a vast, neutral territory suspended between dimensions—was now a battlefield. A once beautiful and tranquil space, it was now marred with the screams of the wounded, the clash of blades, and the smell of blood and burning flesh.

The Sacred Universal Rift had been unearthed, a force capable of ending all war—or plunging the realms into irreversible destruction. Its power drew everyone: angels, demons, gods, mis-angels, and mortals alike. For some, it represented salvation; for others, an opportunity to control everything. And for some, it simply needed to be destroyed.

Kikidori stood on the frontlines of Hell's army, clad in armor that shimmered darkly against the chaotic backdrop. His twin swords glowed with hellfire as he slashed through ranks of enemies, his movements a perfect combination of ferocity and grace. Blood splattered his face, but his expression remained calm, detached. To him, this was just another day.

Ere'ana, however, fought on a different battlefield. As a healer, she moved among the injured, a soft golden glow emanating from her hands as she tried to save whoever she could. But it wasn't easy. A demon had collapsed in front of her, their body twisted and broken. She sighed heavily. She hated this war, hated that she had to be here. But she couldn't abandon them—not while her husband and daughter were out there risking everything.

"Stay with me," Ere'ana whispered to the demon, pressing her hands to his chest as she poured healing energy into him. But the light in his eyes flickered and faded, and she knew she was too late. She sighed, brushing a strand of blood-matted hair from her face. "Damn it."

---

The battlefield stretched endlessly, filled with chaos. Angels clashed with demons, gods fought among themselves, and the mis-angels—the rogue faction of Heaven—struck with terrifying precision. It was a storm of brutality.

Yumi and Elnora fought side by side in the thick of it. Yumi's black scythe glowed with a deadly purple aura as she swung it, slicing through enemy ranks with a savagery that surprised even herself.

Elnora, wielding twin daggers that shimmered with angelic light, fought with the precision of a trained warrior. She protected Yumi at every turn, her movements fluid and deliberate.

"Yumi, on your left!" Elnora shouted.

Yumi spun, her scythe cutting clean through an enemy soldier. "Thanks, babe," she said with a grin, though her face was smeared with blood and dirt.

But their momentary victory was overshadowed by the sheer chaos around them.

---

The karmoninogom and choruka forces had allied, sweeping through the Southern Kingdoms of Bruinswallow with devastating force. Kingdoms fell like dominoes. Their rulers, once proud and strong, now lay broken and lifeless on the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Cerberus, the tiny Chihuahua who had always been a source of comfort and joy, darted through the chaos. He barked ferociously at enemies ten times his size, his small frame dodging blades and fireballs alike.

But fate was cruel. A deafening explosion tore through the battlefield, and rubble from a collapsing tower fell in its wake. Ere'ana screamed as she watched it crush the tiny dog.

Cerberus was gone.

---

Stryker fought with a desperation that bordered on madness. He had been a relentless force throughout the war, channeling his pain and anger into his strikes. But even he wasn't invincible. Surrounded by enemies, he fought until the bitter end, his body covered in wounds.

"Yumi…" he muttered with his last breath, collapsing into the dirt.

---

Yumi screamed when she saw Stryker fall, but she had no time to mourn. The battle raged on, and she and Elnora were forced to keep moving. But then, the unthinkable happened.

A mis-angel, swift and ruthless, drove their blade straight into Yumi's chest. She stumbled back, blood pouring from the wound.

"YUMI!" Elnora screamed, catching her as she fell.

Yumi's vision blurred, her body growing cold. She could barely hear Elnora's voice over the chaos around them.

"No… I won't lose you," Elnora said, tears streaming down her face. Her hands glowed with angelic energy as she placed them over Yumi's wound. But it wasn't enough.

Desperate, Elnora made the ultimate sacrifice. With a whispered prayer, she poured her life force into Yumi, bringing her back—but at the cost of her own.

When Yumi woke, Elnora was gone.

---

The fight for the Rift reached its peak. The angels secured it, only for the mis-angels to snatch it away. The demons then overpowered the mis-angels, taking it for themselves.

Kikidori, Ere'ana, and Yumi regrouped near the Rift, their bodies battered but still standing.

"We have to end this," Ere'ana said, her voice trembling.

Before they could act, a deafening roar shook the battlefield. A massive figure emerged from the shadows, its presence radiating pure destruction.

Everyone froze, their eyes turning toward the new threat.

The worst was about to happen.
