Following what dad said I went to work today in high spirits. Dad's words comforted me to an extent and even if mum did not know it made me have hope.
Her reaction will be priceless if she found out. It didn't mean she'll not find out eventually.
These were my thoughts as I got to work. From the opened window blinds, it seemed Jared was at work already when I got in. It turned out I was right, I saw him the minute I got to my chair which was a clearer view.
He didn't notice me come in so I sat on my seat checking out outfits for Claire. Since Halloween was fast approaching I had to search for outfits.
"What are you doing?" I put the phone's screen face down at the sound of the voice only to see Jared staring right back at me.
"How's it your business?" I blurted almost immediately"Are those for her? Calculate the total, I'll pay." he said instantly.
"No thanks."
