Chapter 28 - Focus Focus and practice

"Wow, there's some deep information about art. I need to level up in one month, learn something new, and incorporate it into my company—if I can. Or maybe do something about it… Ugh, too much thinking won't do any good.

Alright, let me take a stroll with Mr. Thompson.

Mr. Thompson, please join me for a walk. I need to clear my thoughts before it's too late.

Mr. Thompson, why are you speechless? Oh, it's Kevin...

Kevin? What's wrong with him?"

"He had an accident, and he's in the hospital now."

"What?!" Leah shouted before she fainted.

Mr. Thompson quickly carried her to her room and whispered, "Have some rest, my dear Leah. So many responsibilities at such a young age... Oh, you poor dear. Rest for now."

Leah woke up, at first thinking it was just a bad dream. But as reality set in, she realized everything Mr. Thompson had told her was true.

She quickly got out of bed, dressed up, and called Mr. Thompson to accompany her to the hospital where Kevin was admitted.

"Oh, how far is it?" Leah asked, frustration evident in her voice. The distance felt unbearable—his house seemed much closer than the hospital.

"Ah! We're here," Mr. Thompson said, relieved. He glanced at Leah, but she looked exhausted and overwhelmed from the whole trip. She managed to force a small smile before stepping out of the car.

The moment Kevin came to her mind, she ran towards the hospital, but Mr. Thompson grabbed her arm.

"Wait, young lady! You don't even know which ward he's in."

Leah sighed and nodded. "Alright."

As she stood there waiting for Mr. Thompson to get the details, she spotted Sarah approaching in the distance.

"Hey, Sarah!" Leah shouted.

"Oh, hey, Leah! Are you here to see Kevin?"

"Yes. Can you take me to him, Sarah?"

"Oh, yes, of course. I just came down to buy breakfast for the three of us," Sarah replied.

Leah hesitated. "Three of you?"

"Yeah, me, Kevin, and Rose."

Leah's heart sank. Not again... Why her? Why does she always have to be with him? But she quickly shook off the thought. No, I'm not giving up.

"Hey, Sarah, can you give me John's breakfast? I'll take it to him if you don't mind."

"Oh, no, not at all! That would be great," Sarah said, handing it to her.

By the time they arrived, Rose was feeding Sam, and he had almost finished his breakfast.

On the way to the ward, Sarah placed her tray on the table near Kevin. Rose was helping him settle down, gently wiping his mouth with a cloth.

"Oh, you guys already ate?" Leah asked.

"Yeah," Rose replied, turning to throw the tissue into the dustbin. That's when she noticed Leah standing there with a tray.

"Oh, Leah! How are you?"

"I... I'm fine," Leah said, forcing a small smile. She quickly placed the tray down and turned away.

"I need to go now. I'm happy you came back. Please take care of Kevin," she said hastily, then ran out without even looking at them.

As she rushed down the hallway, her thoughts spiraled. What am I doing? I have no place in his life... I should just give up. The way he looked at her while she was wiping his mouth...

She stopped, catching her breath. I should focus on myself. Art... Yes, it's no longer about Kevin.

"Do you think she was alright? She didn't even look at us when she said she had something important to do," Rose said as she and Sarah took a stroll through the park near the hospital. Meanwhile, Kevin's mom and his maid were watching over him.

"I think she's in love with him. That's why she told us to take care of him. Maybe she misunderstood and thought you and Kevin were together," Sarah replied.

"Well, no kidding!" Rose laughed loudly, and Sarah joined in.

Across the park, John and Sam were practicing tennis.

"John, are you sure you're holding the tennis racket right?" Sam teased.

"Make sure you don't hit your face," Sam added with a smirk.

John grinned as he took another shot. "I just hope it all ends well. Don't you, Sam?"

"Of course, it will! Now, focus and practice!"

"Man, you're such a tough trainer. No wonder you win every match," John said, trading shots with him.

"Yup! Sam the Great, teamed up with John the Tennis Babe!" Sam joked. They both laughed and continued their practice.
