Was it all a dream? Surely not, right?
As vague remnants of last night flashed through her mind, Winter tightly shut her eyes. That damn alcohol is the culprit, Winter thought, shaking her head.
Ryan looked at Winter intently and chuckled.
"What's wrong?"
"Ah, I was just going to take the stairs..."
"This is the 30th floor, what are you talking about?"
Ryan looked at Winter as if he had heard something ridiculous, then said amusingly.
"Well, sometimes your body moves before your mind in life."
"Pardon?"
"Don't worry about it, it's nothing."
"What?"
"I'm going to grab some case files, wait here for a bit."
"Oh, okay..."
Ryan gave a meaningful smile and then turned away and left.
Winter stared blankly at the elevator, then unknowingly covered her face with her hands.
What happened last night didn't seem to be a dream after all. It even seemed that rumors had already started to spread.
This is going to be a headache, Winter thought as she let out a deep sigh.
