Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: The Cruel Monster

"Damn it! This isn't my fault! You're the one who didn't make the seal correctly! Don't blame me!" Yamata-no-Orochi retorted sharply.

Reiji grumbled, grinding his teeth. "It's because you didn't channel the chakra properly! If only I had more time, I could have fixed the seal!"

Their argument was interrupted as the sound of footsteps grew closer.

The Anbu finally arrived at the scene, observing the disheveled state of the room and the smoke that was slowly dissipating.

"Hey! Do you need something?" Reiji greeted the Anbu with a thin smile and a cheerful tone that was out of sync with the atmosphere around them.

Reiji's eyes radiated a relaxed impression, even though it was clear that there was damage in the area that couldn't be ignored.

The Anbu looked at Reiji with a wary attitude behind their masks, before one of them stepped forward and spoke in a formal tone, "We heard an explosion and felt a tremor."

"Therefore, we were ordered to come here and check the situation."

"Ah, about that..." Reiji shrugged while putting his hands in his pockets.

"There's no need to worry! It's just a minor incident, really. Everything is under control!" Reiji smiled widely, as if to convey that no matter how big the problem was, it was not a burden for him.

"By the way, I'm hungry. Could you bring me some food? Oh, and I also need more Chakra Ink. I'm running low on supplies."

Reiji's careless requests made the Anbu exchange glances.

They looked confused, trying to understand the strange boy in front of them who seemed to feel no guilt at all over the commotion he had just caused.

Finally, the Anbu who spoke first raised his voice again. "We understand, Mr. Reiji. But please, avoid causing any more disturbances."

"The nearby residents are starting to panic due to the explosion and tremors. If this continues, the situation could worsen."

"Great! Thank you!" Reiji nodded enthusiastically, as if apologies were never part of his vocabulary.

When the Anbu finally decided to leave, Reiji let out a sigh of relief.

"Well, that went better than I expected," Reiji muttered as he walked down the stairs to the basement.

The smell of dust and debris quickly filled the air.

There, the once sturdy walls were now riddled with large cracks.

Some parts had even collapsed, leaving big holes around.

Reiji surveyed the chaos with a mix of frustration and resignation. "This is a disaster..." Reiji murmured quietly.

However, instead of getting angry, Reiji just smiled slightly, more to himself.

Reiji rolled up his sleeves and then performed the hand seals. "Alright, let's clean this up."

With swift movements, Reiji used a Sealing Jutsu to store the rubble, dirt, and remnants of the explosion into a storage scroll.

In just a few minutes, the basement began to look tidier, although the remnants of the explosion still lingered in the atmosphere.

"This place is really terrible now. This is all your fault, Orochi," Reiji said, his tone more of a complaint than anger.

In Reiji's mind, another voice immediately echoed. "Are you kidding?! This is all your fault! You're the one who messed everything up, and now you're blaming me!"

Yamata-no-Orochi, the eight-headed serpent spirit residing within Reiji, shouted in an annoyed tone.

"Oh come on, look at yourself. You won't even admit your mistakes? You really deserve to be called the Cruel Monster," Reiji said, shaking his head, his tone full of sarcasm.

"Damned human! How dare you!" Yamata-no-Orochi's voice echoed in Reiji's mind, filled with rage.

"That title isn't for something trivial like this! And all the chaos in this room happened because you didn't make the Seal correctly!"

Reiji sighed deeply, as if he had faced the complaints of the eight-headed serpent spirit too many times before.
