"Be quiet, Orochi. I need to think..." Reiji's tone turned annoyed.
Reiji turned his body, surveying the now chaotic basement.
A large crack stretched across the wall, while the ceiling in some areas looked fragile and ready to collapse at any moment.
Reiji scratched his chin, his expression turning serious.
He knew that continuing the Seal Formation planning in this room would be difficult.
The numerous holes in the walls and the nearly collapsed ceiling made everything much more complicated.
"Hmm..." Reiji murmured as he continued to think, his eyes scanning every corner of the room, searching for a solution.
But before Reiji could come up with an idea, the presence of someone in his house caught his attention.
A shadow appeared at the window, and it didn't take long for Reiji to realize who was coming.
An Anbu appeared with swift movements, standing tall before Reiji.
"This is the lunch you requested, along with a Storage Scroll containing 30 liters of Chakra Ink," the Anbu said in a flat tone, handing over a food box and a large black scroll.
Seeing the food box, Reiji's eyes immediately lit up.
"Finally!" Reiji exclaimed enthusiastically.
He quickly walked over to the Anbu, took the food box, and opened the lid.
The aroma of warm rice, freshly grilled fish, fresh vegetables, and green chili sauce filled the air.
Reiji's stomach let out a soft growl, making him smile slightly.
Reiji then looked at the Anbu and said, "Thank you so much!"
The Anbu merely nodded briefly, then without saying anything else, vanished in an instant.
Reiji placed the storage scroll on the table, then brought the food box to the dining table, which, fortunately, was still intact.
Ignoring the state of the house that was in disarray from the previous explosion, Reiji sat down comfortably and began to eat heartily.
Yamata-no-Orochi, who could never stay quiet, immediately spoke up in Reiji's mind.
"How can you remain calm when your entire house looks like a battlefield?" Yamata-no-Orochi's tone was filled with mockery.
Reiji just grinned in the middle of his bite. "Heh! Even if this world is in Armageddon, I still have to eat. As long as I eat, I will always have the energy to think of ways to solve problems."
Yamata-no-Orochi snorted in annoyance. "You really have no shame."
"Say what you want, Orochi," Reiji replied as he continued eating.
For Reiji, this food was more important than responding to the grumbling of the complaining serpent spirit.
A single bite of warm rice with grilled fish seemed enough to make all the world's problems seem small.
Yamata-no-Orochi, hearing Reiji's words, could only snort in annoyance, but chose not to continue questioning.
In Yamata-no-Orochi's mind, dealing with a strange human like Reiji was more exhausting than fighting a formidable enemy.
Reiji, on the other hand, seemed indifferent to Yamata-no-Orochi's silence.
He devoured his lunch eagerly, enjoying every bite of rice and grilled fish as if it were the last meal in the world.
After a few minutes, Reiji set down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth with a cloth, and stood up.
A full stomach gave Reiji new energy to return to dealing with the damage in the basement.
As Reiji prepared to head back down to his room, Yamata-no-Orochi's voice sounded again, this time sounding more confused than angry. "By the way, what exactly do you want to do with that basement?"
Reiji looked ahead with a small, proud smile. "What? So all this time you've been helping but didn't know what we were working on?"
Reiji chuckled softly before continuing in a boastful tone. "I am a researcher, a scientist, and a very genius and powerful shaman!"
"So it is only fitting that I have a research space—or a laboratory! Also, a training area for experiments and practice!"
