After Reid's little run in with his bullies and the unexpected but welcomed gain, he walked fast to the scrap yard.
He soon arrived. The scrap yard revealed the outcome of his actions earlier. The previously stacked scraps, that formed towers were no more only heaps of scrap everywhere.
Reid did not regret collapsing the towers especially after he discovered what was in the box. He would've taken the same actions any other day.
Reid called out Nyx and Rusty from his inventory. They both came out looking pretty well rested and energized.
"That's right, the inventory is also a healing place for you guys" Reid recalled the information in his head.
"Anyway, it time to get started" he said and took a metal alloy from within his scrap bag "Nyx, this is called an alloy and that's what we'll be looking for. Rusty will show you the useful ones."
He was about to start his hunt before he paused and turned to his partners again. He retrieved one of the flame cores from his Forge Lab.
The core looked like a really big marble with reddish orange energy swirling within.
"This is a core" he showed it to Nyx and Rusty "If by any chance you come across one, bring it to me".
He ordered the start of the scrap hunt when he was sure they understood.
The hunt was mostly unproductive for Reid during the first few hours. All he found were some basic metal alloy so he decided to head deeper in the scrap yard.
The scrap beneath his feet let out creaking sounds when he stepped on them. He ignored the sounds and continued walking forward with Nyx and Rusty in tow.
The scrap yard was basically a huge pit for dumping scrap so it took a while for Reid to reach one of its walls.
On the way, Reid had been collecting much more useful alloys than the ones in the outer part of the scrap yard, this incited him to move forward in search of more and before he knew it, he had already arrived at the deep end of the scrap yard.
So far, Reid hadn't been lucky enough to find any beast cores but that was to be expected since beast cores were important resources to both beasts and humans, there was almost zero chance of him finding one here.
Reid looked at the mud-like wall of the scrap yard and discovered cave like openings on it, tempting him to take a step in.
"We should probably head back..." Was what he said but like they had a mind of their own, his feet had already carried him to one of the caves entrances.
"I-It wouldn't hurt to go a bit further right" he asked his partners that were currently resting on his head.
"Squeak" Rusty gave him an assuring squeak while Nyx just flapped its wings in agreement.
"Okay, let's do this" he said and walked into the cave, not noticing the retreating figure behind him.

Mia had been looking for ways to talk to Reid for the past few days until the chance presented itself today.
After days of convincing, her parents finally agreed to invite Reid to dinner which they all knew he would reject the invite but that wasn't her aim, her aim was to find an excuse to talk to him.
You see, Mia has always had a secret crush on Reid ever since she first saw him two years ago. The problem was, Mia grew up in the scrap yard with limited interactions with kids her age.
When most kids were out playing, she was always finding ways to help her parents either at home or in the scrap yard.
This caused her to grow up as a shy girl which inturn made it almost impossible for he to talk to Reid. For the past two years since Reid came to the Scrapyards, they've only spoken a couple of times.
Mostly because Reid was always busy either scrap hunting or fixing the scrap he found. Her not being able to gather enough courage to talk to him was also another factor but today was different.
Today she was going to summon all the courage she needed to invite Reid for their family dinner and even if he rejects, she'd at least ask to be his friend.
With that determination, she set off early in the morning and arrived at Reid's bunker, only to find out that he wasn't around, probably out scrap hunting.
'Maybe I should wait a while?' She thought but quickly dismissed the idea 'he'll probably think I'm weird for just seating at his door and waiting for him to return'.
She was already home when a loud sound coming from the scrap yard was heard. This caused her to be a bit worried, since Reid was definitely there but she was able to calm down when she found out that nothing happened to him.
Mia wanted to head back to Reid's bunker to ask how he was doing after what just happened but she couldn't, not before helping her mom set-up her stall at the market.
Setting up took a while and before she knew it the sun was already up. She was about to leave when her blue eyes spotted Reid heading in the direction of the scrap yard again.
She decided to catch up to him while mentally preparing what she was going to say.
Before she could catch up, Reid had a run in with Alex, Tommy and Timmy so she decided to hide and wait.
Although she couldn't hear what they were saying, she could see that whatever the trio said had hurt Reid due to his expression and clenched fist.
'Fight back Reid' she wanted to shout but she knew that was impossible since the three had their combat forged beasts by their side.
She decided to call Old man Scrappy if they took things too far but a few minutes later, the twins, Tommy and Timmy's, forged beasts started malfunctioning before shutting down, causing the twins to argue and giving Reid a chance to slip away much to her relief.
She continued following him till he got to the scrap yard. She noticed that he had gained another forged beast, a small black moth which was great.
But she also noticed thatunlike Old man Scrappy who had an inventory gadget, Reid seemed to have summoned his beasts from thin air which confused her.
'C'mon Mia go talk to him, he's standing right there' she told herself but he legs refused to go any closer, they seemed pretty satisfied hiding behind a pile of scrap.
'Stupid legs' she chided. She observed Reid and his beasts collecting only metal alloy and nothing else before they started moving towards the deeper end of the scrap yard.
She followed until they got to the walls that had the cave like openings. She watched Reid hesitate for a while before entering the opening.
'No,no,no Reid don't go in there' Mia wanted to stop him but she couldn't. Before Reid arrived at the Scrapyards, there were constant cases of people entering those caves and never returning.
This made Old man Scrappy declare them off limits to everyone. Mia was currently feeling useless for not being able to stop Reid but she decided to do the next logical thing, going back to get help.
She rushed towards the outer parts of the Scrapyards in search of Old man Scrappy.

Back inside the cave, Reid, Nyx and Rusty readied themselves for a battle against the three rat-like beasts in front of them.
"Well, shit" Reid couldn't help but think..
