The room was cold, too cold for Ahmed's liking. He pulled his thin blanket tighter around himself, staring at the cracked ceiling of his small apartment. Life on Earth had never been kind to him. Struggles piled on struggles, each day a reminder of how cruel the world could be. But tonight was different.
It began with the faint sound of a ticking clock, growing louder with each passing second. Ahmed frowned, sitting up in bed. The clock on his wall wasn't moving, yet the sound persisted, almost deafening now.
And then it stopped.
A searing pain shot through his chest. He gasped, clutching at his heart as the world spun around him. The last thing he saw was the pale moonlight filtering through the window before everything went dark.
---
When Ahmed opened his eyes again, he was no longer in his apartment. He stood in a void—a vast, endless expanse of nothingness. A figure appeared before him, radiating an aura of power so immense it made Ahmed's knees buckle.
> "So, this is the one?" the figure mused, their voice echoing like a symphony.
Ahmed managed to steady himself, glaring at the being.
> "Who… what are you?"
The figure chuckled.
> "I am what you mortals would call a ROB—a Random Omnipotent Being. Think of me as the one who decides what happens to souls like yours after death."
Ahmed's mind raced.
> "So… I'm dead?"
> "Very much so. A heart attack, I'm afraid. Unexpected for someone your age, but fate works in mysterious ways."
Ahmed gritted his teeth, anger bubbling within him.
> "And now what? Is this where you judge me? Send me to heaven or hell?"
The ROB smiled.
> "Not quite. You've caught my attention, Ahmed. Your determination, your resilience, your unwavering will even in the face of adversity. It's rare to find someone like you. So, I'm offering you a chance—a new life, in a world of your choosing, with three wishes."
Ahmed's anger gave way to curiosity. A new life? Wishes? The opportunity was too tempting to ignore.
> "Any world?"
> "Any world," the ROB confirmed.
Ahmed thought for a moment before a grin spread across his face.
> "I want to be reincarnated into the world of High School DxD."
The ROB raised an eyebrow.
> "Interesting choice. And your wishes?"
Ahmed didn't hesitate.
> "First, I want the Gamer System—an ability that lets me grow stronger through levels, quests, and skills."
> "Granted," the ROB said with a nod.
> "Second, I want the Destruction Power of the Gremory Clan."
> "Done."
> "Third, I want to be reincarnated into the Gremory family as Rias's twin brother."
The ROB smiled.
> "You've thought this through. Very well, your wishes are granted. Enjoy your new life, Ahmed Gremory. Let's see what you make of it."
With a snap of the ROB's fingers, the void disappeared, and Ahmed felt his soul pulled into the light.
---
Ahmed awoke to the sound of a baby crying. He blinked, his vision blurry, but he could make out the soft glow of a chandelier overhead. A woman's soothing voice calmed the cries, and Ahmed realized something strange.
He wasn't in his old body. He was a baby.
The memories of his past life were faint, but the ROB's words echoed in his mind:
> "Enjoy your new life, Ahmed Gremory."
