Chapter 7: Crossing Boundaries
The air was alive with tension as Reg and Emma sat down to a romantic dinner in the mansion's formal dining room. The candles flickered, casting a warm glow over the table, and the soft music playing in the background seemed to match the rhythm of Reg's heartbeat.
Emma looked stunning in a red dress that accentuated her curves, and Reg couldn't help but stare. He felt like a teenager again, nervous and excited, as he poured her a glass of wine.
As they ate and talked, Reg found himself feeling more and more at ease. Emma was easy to talk to, and he found himself opening up to her in ways he never had with anyone before.
After dinner, Reg suggested a walk in the gardens. The night air was cool and crisp, filled with the scent of blooming flowers. They strolled hand in hand, the only sound being the crunch of gravel beneath their feet.
As they walked, Reg felt Emma's hand grow warmer in his. He glanced down at her, and their eyes met. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them palpable.
And then, without thinking, Reg leaned in and kissed her.
It was like the whole world had come to a standstill. Emma's lips were soft and warm, and Reg felt like he was melting into her. They stood there for what felt like an eternity, lost in the kiss.
As they finally pulled back, gasping for air, Reg knew that he'd fallen deeply in love with Emma. He felt it in his bones, in the way his heart beat faster when she was near.
But as they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, Reg couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. He knew that their social differences would be a problem, that his family and friends would never approve of him being with a maid.

Emma's eyes sparkled, and she smiled. "I love you too, Reg," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
