Chapter 13 - Chapter 13- A reward or a service?

The moment when the two heard the familiar voice coming from the front, they were surprised at first. Then when WuYan walked out from the pitch black darkness into the light emitted from the burning torch in LianShi's hand, she and ZuoCi immediately felt joy. Especially for LianShi who was very worried about WuYan, her heart felt a sudden relief as if tons of weights were just removed.

LianShi dropped the dagger that WuYan gave her to protect herself onto the ground then proceeded quickly to hug him the moment he appeared. The worries in her mind immediately vanished when she embraced WuYan into her arms and helped ease her tensions. He's alive and well and that has comforted her soul, for if demise actually happened on WuYan, she would be blaming herself and carrying the guilt till the end of her days since too many lives were sacrificed because of her.

However, things went a little awkward for WuYan when LianShi suddenly hugged him. He was caught unprepared by her but the reason that made him nervous was her exposed breasts that pressed against his chest. Although he had lent his blue robe for her to cover her body due to her dress being torn up badly by the pesky goblins, LianShi extended her arms and embraced him happily without carefully assessing their situation.

Her pair of round and protruding decent sized breasts was firmly pressed against his chest when she hugged him. The perkiness of her nipples pressed through his clothes and managed to touch his chest accidentally gave them an unusual stimulation. It was at this moment, LianShi only knew something went wrong then quickly realized that in her current state, she's hugging WuYan in a half-naked condition.

She quickly released WuYan from her embracing arms, then in embarrassment, proceeded to adjust the clothes on her to cover the exposed area. Both had flustered themselves and won't wish to talk more about it, a secret that both decided to keep for themselves.

Unfortunately, they had forgotten about ZuoCi that stood behind LianShi and he had seen it all. Looking at their blushing-red face, he did not utter a word but only a snarky smile on his face.

"Ah...the two of you can ignore me and continue to hug each other. I did not see a thing and would not say a thing." ZuoCi said with a delightful smile, attempting to cover his sarcastic smirk.

WuYan and LianShi did not respond to his words but continued to remain calm and readjusted their emotions. Shortly after, she saw WuYan had dragged a dead body and upon seeing the armor crests on it, she immediately knew just from the design alone, the body was her personal bodyguard. She looked surprised and shifted her attention to WuYan. With that gaze alone, he knew what she's going to say and quickly took the initiative to explain his motives.

"I am going to have him properly buried. When I first entered this cave and found him on the ground, I borrowed the sword and dagger from him and in return, I promised to give him a proper burial. The sword that I had given you earlier was from him. That's all and I am definitely not going to do something shady or bad on this poor guy." WuYan explained everything as detailed as possible to avoid any unnecessary misunderstanding.

"I...I, Bu LianShi humbly thank you for the kind act." Her words stuttered and then politely bowed to him to show her appreciation.

"What? There's no need to thank me so formally. Besides, it was not really a big hassle for me to give him a burial." WuYan was surprised and quickly assured that everything was alright for him.

'Name matches the divine's-summoned heroes database. Bu LianShi. Designated roles during the last war, advisor and healer. Recommended course of action, immediate elimination.' Ada's voice suddenly appeared in his mind by telepathically linking the conversation and reporting her findings.

'No, I will not do that.' WuYan replied to Ada.

'Could you provide me a valid reason?' She asked but judging from her tone, she seems to be dissatisfied with his answer.

'It would be stupid for us to straight up attempt to kill her with my current condition. You had said that she's a hero that was summoned by the Gods to war against your creator so of course that she would be probably blessed with their powers' He explained his reasons.

'That's...a valid point.' Ada seemingly agreed to his explanation.

'And that old man behind her is ZuoCi. If we were really attempting to kill her right now, he would definitely step in. Two against one, not an ideal condition to carry out the task.' WuYan gave even more reasons.

'Name matched to the database. ZuoCi. Designated roles in the last war, healer and supporter.' This time, it was Longinus who reported the searches.

'So, there you have it. Two divine-blessed heroes right in front of us. Confronting them right now would be a foolish idea.' WuYan said.

'Acknowledged. So as of now, what's your recommended action against them?' Ada asked.

'I won't be engaging them now. I will take the time to strengthen ourselves before attempting any process to eliminate them.' He proposed.

'So while we are preparing ourselves to become stronger, the enemy would also do the same too. We are sitting in a stalemate against them.' Ada expressed her concerns.

'Trust me. Other than strengthening ourselves, I would also figure out plans and solutions for situations or problems that arise.' He said.

'Alright, Longinus and I will follow your advice. We are temporarily pausing the plan until you decide when is the right time.' Ada said and both systems obliged to WuYan words.

'You really ought to improve and expand your data and tactics even more.' WuYan said.

'That's because all the tactics are created for my body but not yours and my primary directive, which is to prioritize killing the heroes and the gods, would take over my initial calculation. Ada made her statement.

While WuYan was telepathically communicating with Ada, the sudden silence and no response from him had LianSHi and ZuoCi worried. She then tried to gently poke WuYan on his left arm in an attempt to check whether he's still conscious or not.

"Uh...what are you doing?" WuYan saw what LianShi wanted to do and asked in curiosity.

LianShi and Zuo Ci were slightly surprised when WuYan finally spoke a word after being idled for a few minutes.

"Oh! You had us startled. Um...that's because you suddenly spaced out for a moment and we decided to poke you to check whether you are still with us." LianShi explained.

"Sorry, I just thought so deeply on how to bury this body without any available tools around us. I only got a pair of hands, a sword and a dagger. Without the right tools, the process would be slow and inefficient." WuYan came up with a convincing excuse while still grabbing the hand of the rotten corpse.

"Please rest assured that I will take care of this problem. I just happen to have a method to solve this issue." ZuoCi proudly answered to solve the difficulties.

"Alright, we will talk more about it once we get out of this cave." WuYan said after hearing ZuoCi's suggestions.

With LianShi as the torch bearer again, ZuoCi on the lookout and WuYan continue to drag the body, this time the three of them exited the cave together.

The moment when they walked out from the cave, WuYan immediately released the corpse and lay down against the grassy ground.

'Longinus, disable the air purifying system.' WuYan ordered via his mind

'Affirmative. Disabling the air purifying system in the helmet.' Longinus responded and acknowledged his order.

WuYan was happy and smiled like a kid, he then took a deep breath. Although still near the entrance of the cave that blew out foul stench to the open, the air around him was infused with soothing aromatic fragrance from the blossomed colorful flower.

Seeing WuYan just lying down against the grassy ground with the corpse beside him without any hesitation had surprised LianShi and ZuoCi. Never did they think the man with a mature appearance would be so carefree and optimistic. Because of this sight, LianShi couldn't help but smile at what she saw, and part of her sadness and worries vanished in an instant again.

WuYan just lied down for a short moment to relax but was already interrupted by ZuoCi.

"If I may, we can start the burial process now. Sir WuYan." ZuoCi advised WuYan with a polite smile.
