After listening to ZuoCi words, WuYan immediately stood up and prepared himself to aid the Elder to properly bury the corpse. He brought the body near to Zuo Ci then nodded at him, agreed to start the burial ceremony.
As a Taoist practitioner and also a master at it, ZuoCi gently stroked his long silk white beard while observing the blue sky. He saw those cotton white clouds accompanied by the winds gently moving towards the east direction. He then closed his eyes to focus his senses to detect something that the naked eyes can't see in his surrounding area.
ZuoCi then began to move his hands, twitching his fingers in a very quick, flexible manner. At the last move with each of his fingertips touching each other, ZuoCi pulled both hands away from each other and a glowing yellow colored holographic Chinese compass was summoned from the center, out of nothing but thin air. The Chinese compass got everything, from directions to time, elements and others that's related to the FengShui theory.
WuYan and LianShi that stood just beside ZuoCi were impressed by his unique skill but unbeknown to the two heroes, Ada and Longinus had observed and recorded ZuoCi ability. The artificial intelligences had archived the valuable data into their memory storage and will be used as references to devise an effective plan to eliminate him.
'ZuoCi ability was recorded and stored in P.A.N.D.O.R.A.. Longinus and I will now research the best method to approach and eliminate the target. Should there be new sets of data, it will be automatically calculated into the devised plan.' Ada reported his task to WuYan via telepathy communication.
'Good job, Ada. I look forward to your proposal.' WuYan praised Ada's initiative and her efficiency.
'I am just merely doing my tasks.' Ada was humbled by WuYan's praise.
Shortly after their communication, the Chinese compass in ZuoCi hand pointed at the east direction with the word 'Jin', meaning 'Metal' in FengShui field. The word also glowed in yellow and floated above the compass. The body beside them also shines in the same color with the floating words. With the compass as the guiding tool, Zuo Ci then looked at the two with a smile.
"To the east, Lady Bu, Sir WuYan. We are following the direction given by the compass." ZuoCi said happily to the two.
WuYan listened to ZuoCi's words and grabbed the dead body along with him. Together, they followed the compass direction with ZuoCi leading the way. In just a few minutes' walk, both floating 'Jin' words and the corpse glows brighter and frequently synchronize to each other. When they reached an area, the words and the body glowed brightly for one final time then stopped gleaming. Only ZuoCi knew that they had arrived at the designated location and so, he closed the compass by closing both hands together from the side to the center but WuYan and LianShi were in awe of what they saw of the place they were in.
"Wow...this place is so beautiful." LianShi expressed her likings to the place.
They are surrounded by healthily grown, luscious green Willow trees. Some of the leaves at the end of the branches had wilted dry into brownish-orange color and millions of them fell off from their branches when the wind blew across the tree.
Other than the Willow trees, there's also wild trumpet trees that blossomed with brightful pink and yellow flowers. The mix colors from the trees to the skies were so colorful that it captivated their attention and left them in awe. The fragrances from the flowers are pleasant and seducing to smell that their fatigue instantly melted away, refreshing their mind and soul.
Along with the rustling sounds from the leaves and branches shaken when the wind blows, the chirping sounds from the flocks of birds that's sitting on the tree had merged into a rhythmic melodic music orchestrated by nature. The pleasantness to the sight, smell and hear had almost convinced them they might have entered a sanctuary.
"Well...this is certainly a nice place." WuYan praised while breathing deeply in the fresh fragrant air.
"Indeed. Through my FengShui knowledge and ability, I had searched for the best burial spot to put this poor soul into rest. He had done so many good deeds that even sacrificed his life for Lady Bu's safety. Finding him a good burial spot is the least we can do to compensate for his contribution and give his family luck and wealth." ZuoCi explained his purpose to them.
"I have heard of FengShui burial that could boost the luck and wealth of the family and their descendants but I had also heard that such practice will destroy the ecosystems of the burial spot. And to see such a beautiful sanctuary that we got here, it would be a pity if it were to be destroyed." LianShi looked at ZuoCi with worried eyes and expressed her concerns.
"Those works belong to the heartless, lowly FengShui practitioner but you could trust me with my works and practices, Lady Bu. I seek only cycles of harmony between humans and nature. One could say, it's a sort of give and take system between the two." ZuoCi explained.
"I had calculated that this spot will gradually increase the luck and wealth of his family for at least hundreds of years but it won't be bringing them too abundance of wealth, or at least in such a short span of time. And in return, the FengShui of this guy will ward this place from harm or if a disaster happens, the damage will be minimized." ZuoCi continued with his knowledge then stopped for a while and took a look at his surrounding nature.
"Thus everything in this world is part of the FengShui cycle. But for us, we are not bound to any elements of it. Lady Bu, if you don't mind." ZuoCi looked at her and asked for permission before saying anything.
"Yes, you can proceed with it. It's not a secret anyway and it was already publicly known." LianShi agreed and told ZuoCi that he can proceed.
"Huh? What do you mean by publicly known?" WuYan curiously asked.
"Our elements are well known to the public. Mine and Lady Bu belonged to the Yang element or what we called as- 'Divinity' power. Some figures summoned by the Divines are blessed with it the moment they arrived to this world while some figures….well, let's just say they were summoned by darker divinities or devils if that what you prefer to refer them to and they were gifted with the power of Yin element, the 'Demonic' power." ZuoCi explained.
"Well, it was widely known back in the days but since centuries had passed, no one can really tell whether they still remained with the same element or not. Last I heard from the West, there's someone that successfully changed their blessings from divinity to devil and vice versa. Some even got more than a single element of gift bestowed to them.." LianShi said with a worried tone.
"That's true, Lady Bu. It's already happened and is probably much closer to us than we expected." ZuoCi said.
"It's terrifying to know that one would even go that far to become the strongest in the world or probably even want to be much stronger than the Gods that had summoned us." LianShi stated her view on the topic.
"The trials to gain those powers aren't pleasant to listen to either, Lady Bu. To obtain those powers, mass resources and sacrifices need to be harvested and a lot of them are innocents too." Zuo Ci continued.
'Looks like we got more stuff to research about the targets, Ada. Also centuries ago? Does that mean they are now over hundreds of years old?' WuYan thought of the question to himself but was answered by Ada.
'The last war ended approximately three hundred years ago. Just enough for the base to run out of fuel without any proper maintenance.' Ada explained her experience.
'Three hundred years? So are they able to live that long or are they immortal?' He asked.
'Possible effects of the blessings or gifts given by their respective Gods. Powers included are immortal or long life-span, partial divinity abilities, overall body performance improvement such as strength and speed, super regeneration ability,... '
'Fortunately, I didn't follow your advice and attempt to eliminate them earlier.'
Just when Ada talked non-stop about their abilities, WuYan interrupted her sentences.
'That was my entire fault earlier, my apologies. I had let the prime directive control me and almost forgot to factor in our current situation.' Ada apologized.
'But if they are all so powerful then how could LianShi get captured by those pesky goblins? Shouldn't it be the other way around where she kills them all? Also, if what LianShi said are true, then we need to investigate more about the Yin and Yang elements along with the possibility of dual or more elements for a single person.' WuYan talked about his plan.
'Interesting point. My data about them had been stored for three hundred years without any updates. It's time to get new sets of info and refresh my database.' Ada had set herself an objective.
'Alright, I will try to get those for you. But just out of curiosity, I would like to ask you, as an A.I., do you find this place beautiful?' WuYan asked.
This time Ada did not respond to WuYan's question and their conversation went silent. This had him intrigued and troubled, thinking about whether there were any errors in his question.
"Lady Bu, as your new aide, I will be scouting and constantly monitoring any activity from the Kingdom of Tang, Ming, Qin, Han, Jin, Shu, Wei and Wu." Zuo Ci reported his findings.
When Zuo Ci said out the other kingdom names, WuYan was surprised by the info. From his world, Tang, Ming, Qin, Han and Jin are supposed to be a dynasty, an era instead of a kingdom. Especially for the Kingdom of Shu, Wei and Wu as those are under the Three Kingdom warring era.
'Remember, we are now in a world made by Gods and their summoned subjects are helping to govern the land. Prepare to learn everything new.'
Ada voice suddenly appeared again and telepathically communicated with WuYan's mind, advising him to learn everything again.
'Also, the answer for your question earlier. Yes, I do find the scenery around us beautiful.' She answered.
