 CHAPTER 1;The Comic

Date: May 07, 2022,Day & time: Monday, 1146Hrs,Location: Washington, Liberty Springs Academy.Students walk through the long hallway, chatting with each other while some prefer to stay alone. It is break time, and a boy dressed in a light blue button-down shirt featuring the school emblem embroidered on the pocket is hurrying toward a classroom. He wears navy blue trousers and a navy blue blazer with silver piping along the edges, adorned with the school crest on the chest pocket. As he rushes, he accidentally bumps into other students, causing frustration as they shout in annoyance."Hey watch it!""Ouch!"But with a smile, he would respond with an apology as he continued to rush towards his desired room. He stops smiling, eyes shining as he looked the Door tag "The Library'.The boy opened the door and entered to meet an elderly woman in her late 60s. She had silver hair neatly pulled back into a bun and was thin, with a round monocle on her right eye. Her gentle gaze sparkled with knowledge and kindness. She wore a cozy cardigan over a floral dress, and a necklace of tiny clear blue pearls hung around her neck. As she sat at her desk, she shifted her gaze to the young boy and smiled at him. She noticed his appearance: short hair colored white with black tips, golden irises that sparkled with curiosity, and a fair complexion. The sight of him lit up the elderly woman's face."Good Morning, Gordon""Good morning Mrs Harrilton"The boy walked towards her desk and stood there looking at her inquisitively. Mrs Harrilton smiled."I'm assuming here for the new release volume of Light Spear comic." Mrs Harrilton asked.Gordon nodded excitedly."Yes please!" Gordon answeredThe lady chuckled, turning to look at a pile of books on her desk."Gordon, I got volume five of Light Spear comic all for...but..."Mrs.Harrilton pointed at the clock stand."I understand Mrs.Harrilton.I'll come by at lunch then,"Gordon though a bit saddened smiled at her, filling the elderly woman's heart with joy."Alright, you can go back now. Have a nice time.""Same to Mrs.Harrilton.Bye!"Gordon waved confidently as he exited the library. The bell rang just as he made his way to class. He entered the classroom, took his seat, and opened his literature textbook, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. The door swung open just then, and the literature teacher strode in with a stack of handouts."Alright, students, settle down now," she commanded, establishing authority. An hour passed swiftly, and the bell rang once more."That's enough for today's class. We'll reconvene tomorrow. Enjoy your lunch!" the teacher declared as she exited the room.Gordon stood up, eager to leave, and hurried for the door, only to collide with someone. They both exclaimed, "Ouch!" and returned to assess the situation."Hey, Gordon, watch where you're going!" Eddie shouted, irritation evident in his voice."My apologies, Eddie. I'm just really excited," Gordon responded assertively."Okay, but where's the fire? Where are you rushing off to?" Eddie pressed."I'm heading to the library," Gordon said firmly."Okay if you say so."Gordon confidently approached the library, anticipation building as he reached the door. He opened it and was warmly greeted by Mrs. Harrilton, her welcoming smile making him feel instantly."I knew you would rush here," the lady said with a smirk."Of course! I've been waiting six months for this release," he replied confidently."What about your lunch?" Mrs. Harrilton demanded."I'm not hungry," he stated firmly."Fine, take it," Mrs. Harrilton insisted, handing him the book.Gordon snatched the comic and confidently made his way to his favorite window seat, a sense of unease creeping in. As he glanced outside, he spotted a familiar face-and a chill ran down his spine. His eyes narrowed, and his expression hardened as he recognized the figure lingering in the shadows. The comic slipped from his fingers, forgotten, as tension coiled in his gut. With determination, he pushed back from the table and strode outside, ready to confront whatever danger awaited him.
