Chapter 12 - The Rising Storm on the Northwest Battlefield

Li Chenxi personally led her army to the northwest defense line, knowing that this war was not only about the fate of the Wei Dynasty but also about consolidating her own power. The northwest frontier had always been one of the most dangerous regions, with formidable enemies and a grim situation. And what she had to face was not only external enemy forces but also various conspiracies brewing within the court.

"Your Majesty, scouts have reported enemy forces gathering ahead," Du Anxiaoting reported at Li Chenxi's camp, her expression serious.

Li Chenxi nodded, her demeanor calm. "The enemies in the northwest have always been ruthless. If we want to break the current stalemate, it will come at a great cost. Prepare all our forces and be ready to strike at any moment."

During the pre-battle preparations, Li Chenxi did not rush into attacking. She knew that this war could not be won solely by brute force—it required careful planning and a clever strategy.

She ordered her generals to carry out a night raid to cut off the enemy's supply lines and strike when the enemy was not fully prepared. As for herself, she led a small elite force, lying in ambush on the outskirts of the enemy's camp, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

The Intense Battle

Three days later, Li Chenxi finally launched her first offensive. Her army charged into the enemy's defenses like a storm, tearing through the outer lines with overwhelming force. The enemy was caught off guard, retreating in disarray.

"Your Majesty, the enemy general has been captured!" Du Anxiaoting reported with excitement.

Li Chenxi nodded and walked toward the captured enemy commander. The young man, who was the enemy leader, looked up at her with fear and reluctance in his eyes. He knelt on the ground and said softly, "Please spare my life, Your Majesty… please…"

Li Chenxi sneered, her gaze as cold as ice. "If you manage to leave here alive, consider it my defeat."

She waved her hand, signaling for her guards to take the enemy commander away, then ordered the pursuit to continue. She knew that this war could not be easily won, and the enemy would undoubtedly strike back.

"Keep up the pressure. Do not give the enemy a chance to retaliate," Li Chenxi commanded with determination.

The following days saw more intense battles. Li Chenxi, using her extraordinary military tactics, led her troops through one fierce confrontation after another, slowly closing in on the enemy's main force.

"Your Majesty, the enemy's main force has shown itself and is preparing to build a defensive line ahead," Du Anxiaoting reported in time.

"Good. Gather all our forces. It's time to decide the outcome," Li Chenxi's eyes glinted with intensity as she gave the order.

Betrayal and Exposure

While Li Chenxi was fully focused on the battle, something was also happening in the court. Several once-loyal ministers had begun to act strangely. On the surface, they still treated Li Chenxi with respect, but in reality, they had secretly allied with external forces, hoping to use the chaos of the northwest war to seize more power for themselves.

One day, Li Chenxi received an anonymous letter that contained some chilling information. The letter detailed several ministers' secret contacts with the enemy forces on the border, and even included evidence that they were trying to exploit the most intense moments of battle to undermine Li Chenxi.

"So, they are waiting for the opportunity," Li Chenxi sneered, her mind already making plans.

She did not expose this information immediately but kept it hidden, preparing to reveal the true faces of these traitors at the right moment.

"Continue the battle. The victory in the northwest is our only goal," Li Chenxi reminded her troops, staying vigilant as she led the charge.

Victory on the Battlefield and the Hidden Dangers

After several days of intense fighting, Li Chenxi finally achieved a decisive victory on the sixth night. The enemy's main force was completely defeated, and the northwest defense line was finally stabilized. Her army not only crushed the enemy but also forced their retreat, securing the safety of the Wei Dynasty's border.

"Your Majesty, the northwest has been stabilized, and the enemy has been entirely annihilated," Du Anxiaoting reported, her voice filled with excitement.

"Good. Send a messenger back to the capital and inform the court of our victory," Li Chenxi responded calmly.

However, despite the temporary success in the northwest, she knew that the intrigue in the court had not come to an end. The conspiracies of the court officials still loomed like a sword over her, ready to strike at any moment.

"We have won in the northwest, but the game in the court is just beginning," Li Chenxi thought to herself.

She looked up at the starry sky, her eyes gleaming with deep determination. She knew that her struggle was far from over, and every step forward would be fraught with danger and challenges. But she was ready to face whatever tests lay ahead.
