Chapter 96 - Sky-Level Garfield

"You two rest here for now, I'll go around and see if I can find a way out."

Kent said, then immediately walked toward one side of the island. Once he reached a hidden spot, he summoned Bajie, instructing it to turn into a shadow and enter the lake to explore.

Next, he summoned Garfield.

"Garfield, whether this works or not depends on you." Kent placed the dead egg of a holy-level beast in front of Garfield.

This egg contained a vast amount of energy, and Kent planned to have Garfield consume it.

Ding!

Hint: Your summoned beast Garfield consumed 1 kilogram of the Holy Beast Egg essence and gained 40,000 experience.

Hint: Your summoned beast Garfield consumed 5 kilograms of the Holy Beast Egg essence and gained 160,000 experience.

Kent was stunned upon seeing the notifications at the bottom of Garfield's attribute panel. Just what kind of holy beast was this? Even its dead egg contained so much energy. It was the first time he'd seen experience points rise so rapidly by such large numbers.

The egg weighed at least a hundred pounds, or about fifty kilograms. Originally, it was full of essence, but due to its age, most of the energy had dissipated, leaving only a small amount behind.

Around an hour later, Garfield's stomach was bloated, and it wore an expression of despair. Unfortunately, this wasn't tasty at all, but under Kent's persistent orders, it begrudgingly finished the meal.

When Garfield finally finished, its experience had skyrocketed to a staggering 930,000.

Kent's face was filled with a mix of excitement and astonishment. The massive holy beast skeleton buried beneath the island was enormous, and Kent suspected it was even more powerful than most 80+ level sky-tier holy beasts. No wonder its egg contained so much energy.

"Garfield, give me a little more effort. Drink this." Kent pulled out the last two bottles of high-level evolution potions and five bottles of advanced nutritional liquids from his inventory.

Ding!

Hint: Your summoned beast Garfield consumed one bottle of Advanced Nutritional Liquid and gained 2,800 experience.

Ding!

Hint: Your summoned beast Garfield consumed one bottle of Advanced Evolution Potion and gained 25,000 experience.

After consuming everything, Garfield's experience finally broke the 1 million mark. This meant that Garfield could evolve again.

"Evolution."

Kent murmured, and Garfield's body began to grow again, becoming even larger than before—almost twice the size, now around eight meters long and three meters tall. The symbol of the "King" on its forehead became even more prominent. At the same time, golden light radiated from its body, and its aura grew significantly, now giving off the presence of a sky-level holy beast, constantly exuding an oppressive feeling.

But that wasn't all. Suddenly, the skin on Garfield's back tore apart, and a pair of fleshy wings grew.

"Wow, could this be the legendary Flying Tiger?" Kent exclaimed in shock, watching Garfield finish evolving and then checking its new attributes.

Kent was left speechless after seeing this. The stats were incredible, far beyond his expectations.

"Wow, are sky-tier top grade beasts really this strong?" He couldn't help but marvel.

At that moment, his oxygen converter stopped working, and he could no longer convert the air in the secret realm into pure oxygen. He felt an immediate sense of discomfort. Even with his strengthened body, he could only last another half hour at most before things would go south.

"I have to act quickly. Fortunately, Garfield evolved and now has the ability to fly." Kent quickly called Garfield to shrink down a bit, then shared the flying ability. However, to his surprise, he found that the ability couldn't be fully shared. His body couldn't grow wings, but he could generate a pair of wind-powered wings.

"This will do." Kent said, leaping into the air. With a flap of the wind wings, he soared to a height of about a hundred meters.

Garfield, on the other hand, flew to about 140 meters before gliding down to the ground.

"Let's go."

Kent mounted Garfield, who then flew out, but as they reached the cliff, Kent found that the two mercenaries had already disappeared, leaving behind only bloodstains and a note that read: "It's been a long time, little brother. We wish to fight to the death."

Kent furrowed his brows, but didn't bother looking further. He walked over to the cliff, gazing at the many shadowy forms of giant blood-shark monsters in the lake below. Since those two mercenaries had decided to seek their own fate, Kent no longer cared whether they lived or died.

After summoning Bajie back and checking the time, he realized that he had already spent over five hours in the secret realm, exceeding his original plan. His body was starting to feel uncomfortable, but if it weren't for the energy absorbed from the five-colored stone, his internal organs would have already been in danger.

The two mercenaries had entered the secret realm two to three hours before Kent. Without the oxygen converter, they were in the same predicament, just holding out for a last-ditch effort.

"Let's go."

Kent jumped onto Garfield's back. With a powerful flap of its wings, Garfield leapt into the air, soaring over 200 meters. After landing in the water, the impact sent waves splashing up, disturbing the nearby water monsters.

"We still have about 400 meters." Kent muttered.

Garfield's flying speed was impressive, but the lack of power in the water reduced the distance covered. However, with each leap, they were getting closer to the cloud formation at the exit.

After several more flights, they finally reached the bottom of the secret realm, leaving the blood-sharks behind. Not long after, the sound of a huge splash reached their ears, signaling the appearance of the Blood Shark King, but it was already too late.

At the cloud formation exit, Wukong was waiting for them, and he tossed down a rope. Kent called Garfield back into his beast bracelet and grabbed the rope, letting Wukong pull him up.

Once safely back on the surface, Kent let out a long sigh of relief. That was too close. If it weren't for the holy-level beast's egg, he might not have made it out.

Although he narrowly escaped, Kent learned a valuable lesson—never try to rescue others carelessly.

This time, although he temporarily saved someone, it led him into grave danger. Those two mercenaries, unfortunately, had already sealed their fate.
