"Did you like seeing us together?" Jungkook blurts out.
"What do you mean?"
"Seeing us together," Jungkook says again. "Did you like it?"
"I don't know," Jungkook admits. "Just seeing us working together with her. I know she likes you."
"She does?" Taehyung demands.
"She likes you," Jungkook replies confidently. "I know you like her. Why don't you say something?"
"I don't know either," Jungkook laughs. "But I know it's hard for the two of us to get time with her alone. Maybe it's better for us to hang out with her together."
Taehyung thinks about it for a second before nodding.
"Yeah, let's do it," he agrees.
"Let's do it."
The two of them make plans for a time to meet up with Tzuyu and hang out together. They end their call, and Taehyung sits in his car and thinks about Jungkook's words.
Jungkook is right; they don't get much time alone with Tzuyu. It's always a few stolen moments here and there, or the three of them together. He knows he likes her, but he doesn't know if Jungkook really likes her. It could all be part of some big joke he's pulling on him.
It's two weeks later when the three of them go out together for the first time. It's late at night, and they sneak out of the studio to avoid getting caught by sasaengs. Tzuyu takes them to a small restaurant on the outskirts of Seoul; it's nearly two in the morning, and only a few tables are still occupied.
Jungkook walks in front of them; Taehyung walks behind Tzuyu, letting Jungkook lead the way. They sit down at a table in the corner and order food. They spend a few hours eating and talking; Taehyung learns more about Tzuyu in that night than he knew in the months they've worked together.
It's after three when they start to head out. The restaurant is closing down, and they don't want to be there any longer. Jungkook grabs the check before Tzuyu can; he tosses a few bills on the table and pulls the two of them outside.
"Let's walk," Jungkook suggests as they step out of the restaurant. "We can't drive this late; we'd get caught."
Tzuyu nods her head in agreement; she falls into step between the two of them, and they head off down the street.
As they walk, Taehyung starts to notice that Jungkook keeps finding reasons to touch her. Jungkook would trip over a crack in the sidewalk and fall forward to grab onto her arm to steady himself; Jungkook would say something funny, and Tzuyu would laugh, Jungkook would lean forward and pretend to tickle her. He didn't even have to pretend; Tzuyu was laughing anyway. Jungkook would walk close to her and nudge her playfully with his shoulder; Jungkook kept stealing food off of her plate.
Jungkook didn't do any of those things with him; Jungkook was his hyung, and he knew better than to try anything with him. Jungkook only did it with Tzuyu though.
It's nearly four when the three of them arrive back at the studio. They walk in through the front doors; they don't notice the camera flash as they enter. Jungkook wraps his arm around Tzuyu's shoulders and pulls her close to his side; Tzuyu smiles up at him as he pulls her closer.
Taehyung trails behind them and watches as the two of them walk away together.
He knows Jungkook likes her now; Jungkook couldn't fake it that much. It makes him wonder if Jungkook is doing it all to get to her, but he hopes it's real. He wants Jungkook to be happy. Jungkook deserves to be happy.
As he walks through the studio, he notices the others gathered in a circle. He approaches them slowly and clears his throat for attention.
"Where were you?" Jimin demands as he looks up. "We were looking for you."
"I went out with Tzuyu and Jungkook," he explains. "Jungkook came to the studio late, and we went out for food."
"I see," Jimin replies. "That's cool, I guess. At least you had fun."
"I did," he replies softly.
It's a week later when the news breaks; Jungkook and Tzuyu were seen together late at night, walking through the streets of Seoul together. There were pictures of them at the restaurant and more of the two of them leaving together. Jungkook had his arm wrapped around her shoulders, and she was smiling up at him.
The news breaks early in the morning; their manager rushes into their room to tell them about it. He's already turned on the TV; they can see Jungkook and Tzuyu on screen, leaving the restaurant together.
