Chase awoke to the sight of Diana's peaceful face, her features soft in sleep. He couldn't help but smile. He had a child on the way, and how could he not be happy about that? He carefully extracted himself from her arms, careful not to wake her, and walked to the living room.
"Morning," he greeted Lila and Alice, then told Lila, "I'll take over watching the kids."
Lila smirked. "Are you sure? From what I heard, you've been in trouble. First, you made her mad this morning, then you pulled your disappearing stunt earlier. You're in for it."
Chase sighed. "I had to do something." He reached into his pocket and pulled out two beautiful gold necklaces. Lila and Alice looked at him in shock as he used his telekinesis to gently place the necklaces around the twins' necks.
Both Lyra and Aurora smiled in delight at the jewelry, their excitement palpable. Lyra squealed, "Now I look like a princess!" and ran off to admire herself in a mirror.
