I desperately needed the fresh air.
The weight of my thoughts had grown too heavy to bear, pressing down on me like the fates themselves. I wrapped my cloak tighter around me as I stepped into the Sky Garden, the cool night breeze brushing against my face.
The maze stretched out before me, a winding labyrinth of towering hedges and glowing flora. I walked aimlessly, my boots crunching softly against the gravel path, but my mind was far from here.
The images of the ruined Shade Kingdom and the chaos at the Arcane border lingered in my mind like a dark cloud. The screams of the villagers, the blood that stained the snow—it all played on repeat, an unrelenting reminder of the demon king's cruelty.
I clenched my fists, the anger bubbling beneath my calm exterior.
I wanted to kill him.
