Chapter 54 - One Piece: A Side Story – The Forgotten Isle (Part 54)

The ground shook violently beneath their feet as the island began to collapse. The once-stable stone pillars crumbled into dust, and the sky above them darkened, swirling with unnatural storm clouds. The crystal, now shattered into countless fragments, released a burst of blinding light before its glow faded completely. The island was dying, its power slipping away like sand through their fingers.

"Get ready, everyone!" Luffy shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos. "We need to get out of here!"

Without wasting a moment, the Straw Hat Pirates began to move, sprinting toward the distant shore where their ship, the Thousand Sunny, awaited them. But the island's collapse was not a simple destruction—it was as if the land itself was resisting their escape. Jagged rocks shot up from the ground like weapons, creating barriers that forced them to take detours. Massive cracks opened in the earth, threatening to swallow them whole.

"These damn rocks are everywhere!" Zoro grumbled as he hacked through a pile of debris, clearing a path for the crew. "We can't let them trap us here!"

Sanji leapt over the growing fissures, his long legs carrying him effortlessly through the crumbling landscape. "Just keep moving! We've come too far to get stuck now!"

Robin's eyes scanned the horizon. "The shoreline is close, but we need to hurry. The island's destruction will cause the sea to become unstable. If we don't reach the ship soon, we'll be caught in the tidal waves."

As they pushed forward, the shadows of the island's creatures reappeared, weaker now but still intent on stopping them. They scrambled from the cracks in the earth, snarling as they rushed toward the crew.

"Not again!" Usopp yelled, his slingshot at the ready. "We've already taken care of these guys!"

"Let me handle this!" Chopper called, his body shifting into his Monster Point form. He slammed his massive fists into the ground, sending shockwaves through the remaining enemies, scattering them like ragdolls. "Stay focused, guys! We're almost there!"

With Chopper clearing the way, the Straw Hats continued their sprint, dodging falling rocks and cracks that threatened to break the ground beneath them. The wind howled, swirling dust and debris through the air, making it harder to see and breathe. But the crew was determined.

"Almost there!" Nami shouted, pointing toward the horizon. "I can see the coast!"

The waves crashed violently against the shore, a sure sign that the island's destruction was causing a massive shift in the sea's tides. The water level was rising rapidly, and the waves grew fiercer with each passing second. Their ship was still a short distance away, but it was caught in the tumultuous waves, rocking dangerously with every crash.

"We can't waste any more time!" Luffy yelled, his arms outstretched. He leaped into the air, his body stretching as he grabbed onto a nearby rock ledge to swing himself toward the ship.

Zoro, Sanji, and the others followed closely behind, each using their unique abilities to clear obstacles and keep moving at top speed.

As they neared the shore, the island's final act of defiance came: the ground beneath them erupted, sending a massive shockwave through the air. A towering wall of stone and debris rose from the earth, blocking their path to the ship. The sound of cracking stone echoed around them, deafening in its intensity.

"We can't stop now!" Luffy shouted, his eyes fixed on the ship. "The Sunny's waiting for us! We're not getting left behind!"

With a final burst of energy, Luffy gathered his strength and launched himself forward, his body stretching to incredible lengths as he wrapped his arms around the wall of stone, attempting to pull it down. "Gomu Gomu no—Jet Pistol!" With an explosive punch, Luffy shattered the stone barrier, sending rubble flying.

"Go!" Zoro shouted, his swords cutting through the remaining debris as the crew made their final dash to the shore.

With the barrier cleared, the Straw Hats ran toward the waiting Thousand Sunny. The ship was rocking violently in the rising waves, but Franky and Brook were already on deck, preparing to sail.

"Straw Hat crew, hurry!" Franky called, his robotic arms extending to help them climb aboard. "We've got to get out of here before this place sinks completely!"

Chopper and Nami were the first to jump aboard, followed by Sanji, Zoro, and Usopp. Luffy was the last to leap onto the ship, his arms reaching out as he pulled himself onto the deck with a determined grin.

As the Straw Hats caught their breath and steadied themselves on the ship, they watched as the island continued to break apart. The waves surged higher, pulling the remnants of the island into the depths of the ocean. The island's power had finally faded, and the dark force that had plagued them was no more.

"That was too close," Robin said, wiping the sweat from her brow. "I thought we weren't going to make it for a second."

"I never doubted us for a moment," Luffy said, grinning widely. "We're the Straw Hat Pirates! No island can stop us!"

The crew laughed, their spirits high despite the close call. As the island sank beneath the waves, they turned their attention to the horizon. The sea was calm once more, and the Thousand Sunny sailed smoothly through the waters.

"On to the next adventure!" Luffy shouted, his arms raised in the air. "Let's go find the One Piece!"

With the trials of the Forgotten Isle behind them, the Straw Hat Pirates set their course for the next island, the next challenge, and the next step in their journey toward the greatest treasure the world had ever known.

The journey continued.
