Chapter 1 - CHAPTER -1 THE ASHES OF TOMORROW

For every beginning, there is always an end.

In every journey, the starting point may seem innocent, but it is the end that shapes the destiny of the world. Here, the conclusion isn't just a moment—it's the turning point, the very fate of humanity carved into the future.

In the FUTURE year 2074,

the sky was thick with swirling black smoke, pouring from the remnants of burning buildings. The streets were littered with lifeless bodies. No signs of hope remained, and silence filled the air—only the sound of hurried footsteps echoed in the distance.

Beyond the city's borders, beast men and humans alike fled, as the only sound they could hear was the distant chaos of fighting.

"Run! Run as fast as your legs can carry you!" Yushin's voice cut through the chaos like a blade, urgency dripping from every word.

Akemi, shouted , her voice trembling, "How is Yoto? Is he going to be alright?"

Yushin, her breath ragged, glanced down at the unconscious warrior cradled in her arms. "He's breathing, but he's still out cold."

The city burned. Black smoke curled into the stormy sky, swallowing the light. Buildings crumbled as streaks of energy ripped through the ground, splitting the earth into jagged fragments.

Yushin stumbled, her breath ragged, as Yoto's limp body weighed her down. Akemi shouted over the chaos, "Move, Yushin! Faster!" Her voice carried a mix of urgency and fear.

Behind them, the Beast King halted, his massive frame outlined against the glowing city ruins. His deep growl resonated through the air. "What is he doing here?"

A beast-man at his side answered quickly, "My king, the others have fled. But Yoto—he's not ready."

The Beast King's jaw tightened. His eyes flicked to the glowing epicenter of destruction, where thunder roared and lightning danced. He exhaled heavily, murmuring, "We don't have time. Keep running. Yoto must awaken, or this world is lost."

Yushin stood at the edge of a crumbling cliff, watching the chaos unfold below. "Yoto... wake up. Please," she whispered.

The unconscious warrior, carried by Yushin, stirred faintly but did not awaken.

The atmosphere around the city shifted ominously. Thunder crackled as forks of lightning clawed down, striking with unrelenting ferocity. Streams of energy twisted skyward from a singular, glowing epicenter. The sight chilled every fleeing soul to their core.

Yushin, glanced at the far ground where a destructive battle is taking place. "Sensei, are you going to be alright?"

Akemi, her face set with unwavering resolve, barked, "Yushin! Focus on Yoto. Don't stop here. Run as far as you can! Trust your sensei. He's strong enough to handle this."

Yushin hesitated, then nodded. "Hmmm."

She took off, her pace quickening. Just as another explosion erupted, she glanced back. The city was unrecognizable. Buildings levitated and spiraled into the air like leaves in a storm. The earth itself seemed to shudder. Then, a deafening sonic boom rippled outwards, sending shockwaves across the land.

The fleeing crowd froze for a moment, paralyzed by fear. And then, in an instant, the sonic wave hit them, throwing them to the ground. Dust and screams filled the air.

Earlier year 2073-Present

The shrill blare of an alarm echoed through the corridors. A mechanical voice followed, repeating the urgent message:

"Attention, all squad members. Report to the meeting hall immediately." The heavy doors swung open with a resounding thud, and a procession of soldiers emerged, their movements sharp and synchronized. Each step echoed authority; their formations flawless—a testament to their rigorous discipline. These weren't ordinary soldiers; they belonged to six elite squads, the lifeblood of the Novare Organization.

This organization had emerged from the ashes of a brutal conflict, forged during a time of chaos and disorder. It had initially been created as a necessary force to restore order, but its true destiny had been shaped by blood and betrayal. The former chairman, a steadfast leader, had been assassinated in a web of conspiracy, creating a power vacuum that the opportunistic political elite tried to fill. However, they hadn't counted on Genta.

Genta, the cold and calculating mastermind, now stood at the helm of Novare. Under his leadership, the organization had grown into a massive network with influence spanning across the five nations. Tales of his rise to power spread like whispered warnings through the shadows—how he not only united Novare's fractured branches but also orchestrated the assassination of a national leader. Genta showed no hesitation in taking whatever measures were necessary to achieve his ultimate goal: securing the ALMIGHTY Chair, the governing seat that controlled all five nations.

Every branch of Novare was guided by six elite squads—pillars of the organization's strength. These squads were known for their specialized skills and unwavering loyalty to Novare. They weren't just followers; they were highly trained warriors, each with a fearsome reputation as deadly as the shadow of their leader.

As the soldiers gathered in the meeting hall, the air was thick with tension. Genta's ambitions loomed over the room, unspoken but impossible to ignore. The soldiers, in their distinctive uniforms, took their positions, ready to carry out Genta's orders without question. The silence was almost suffocating, broken only by the quiet rustling of fabric. Every person in the room understood one thing: in the world of Novare, power was the only rule, and Genta was the one in control.

Squad 1: Hikari, the Master of Assassination. A team of silent shadows, specializing in covert eliminations.

Squad 2: Kasen, the Fortress. Their unyielding defense was legendary.

Squad 3: Kaito, the Shield. Equal in strength to Kasen but often stationed for branch protection.

Squad 4: Hanzo, the Wildcard. An eclectic mix of snipers, swordsmen, tech experts, and tacticians.

Squad 5: Hataki, the Vanguard. A powerhouse team where every member excelled in their unique disciplines.

Squad 6: Tadashi, the Spear. Purely offensive, a force of nature on the battlefield.

It was a month ago,

Squad 5 was on a critical mission near the border. Reports had come in of gruesome killings—soldiers skinned and their faces discarded like trophies. The trail led to a bandit camp deep in the mountains.

Eiji, Hataki's sniper, perched silently in a tree, his keen eyes scanning the terrain. The moment the watchers atop the trees twitched, two muffled shots rang out. The bodies fell before anyone noticed.

"Nice work, Eigi," Hataki praised. "Now, everyone, charge!"

The team surged forward.

Akemi, a master swordswoman, cleaved through the frontline with precision, while Eigi provided deadly cover fire. Yushin and Yoto, younger but fiercely skilled, swept through the camp with brutal efficiency. In the chaos, Hayato, their tech expert, disabled the bandits' communications, tapping into their devices to glean intel.

But something was wrong. No clues pointed to the elusive leader behind the massacres.

Hataki ordered a retreat, because he thinks it's a trap for who comes for them

As they regrouped, the captured bandit leader smirked. "You think this is over? My boss will deal with you and your little pets. None of you are leaving here alive."

Yoto, already on edge, drew his sword in anger. His blade gleamed in the moonlight, but before he could strike, Hataki's hand stopped him.

"We only kill when it's necessary," Hataki said firmly. "He's unarmed. Stand down, Yoto—that's an order."

Yoto hesitated, then reluctantly sheathed his blade. Hataki turned to Yushin. "Take Yoto and regroup at the fallback location. I'll deal with this."

Once the team was gone, the bandit laughed darkly. "Hataki, the legendary fighter of Novare. Nineteen years ago, you were a killing machine. Now you preach mercy? You're no different from us, our leader said everything about you"

Hataki's expression darkened. The memories of his past swirled like a storm, but he said nothing, only narrowing his gaze.

Back in the present,

Hataki stood in the meeting hall, lost in thought. The bandit's taunts still echoed in his mind when a voice snapped him back.

"Attention all squad commanders and members. Our Vice President will now address you."

The massive screen at the front flickered on, revealing a man in a black suit seated calmly. His piercing gaze swept over them.

"I am Ken, the Vice President of the Novare Organization. Let us begin."
