Chapter 38 - Morning after Khaos

 The room was quiet, and the trembling had stopped because Cedric had single-handedly defeated a calamity. Under the golden light from the candles and crackling fireplace, the figure of two people could be spotted on the bed. 

 Cedric held Abrielle as he slowly slipped into a deep slumber because he had over-exerted himself while fighting the Khaos. 

 He wasn't confident with his skills if he would be able to stop it earlier, but he just had to try. After the long battle, his first instinct, weirdly enough, was to see the face of his aggrieved wife. 

 To show her that her prayers failed and he didn't die, and as expected, she was disappointed. Achieving his goal, his body slowly grew tired, and now he was at her mercy.
